The front walkway, porch and doorway are typically exempt from the definition of curtilage. The rest of the land around the house, nope, protected by the 4th. But, unless they have a warrant, once you've confronted them and told them to leave, they must leave. Unless they are actively pursuing a suspect, like in a foot chase, and they see them enter your property, then they can enter without a warrant, but for that purpose only. I think this is how they're trying to get away with it.

There are many other exigent circumstances that allow warrantless entry, though. Protective sweeps (if they hear someone screaming and “believe a crime is being committed), if they smell weed at the door, etc. Like so many other fundamental rights, the far right has whittled away at the 4th amendment over time to where it’s nearly worthless.

Cops get REALLY mad when you call the cops on them. Because dispatch calls are automatically recorded with time stamps and everything. If they try to get the call thrown out as hearsay, then everything the cops say becomes hearsay and inadmissable. It's a nightmare for them. Do it every time. Pretty sure they're 3rd party contractors AT BEST. I think some of these 'raids' are really just fakes abducting people, or at least trying to. In either case, if they can't or won't identify themselves (and I've never seen real sworn officers of ANY agency refuse to do so), do call 911. Many police departments have rules on how they identify themselves to the public. If they don't or refuse, then I would consider they are not licensed officers. Anyone in a public position should have to identify themselves. It's how the public can monitor government employees.

Fuck ICE and these "cops" are shady af. But for reference, it is extremely uncommon for regular officers to have an ARREST warrant. Those are stored at jails and or police records divisions, depending on the size of the agency. Search warrants on the other hand, different than an arrest warrant, are required to be present at the time of search.

Also, ICE doesn't (technically) arrest people so they don't have warrants. What ICE does is - legally speaking - detain suspected illegal immigrants so they can be presented to a judge. Fuck what they're doing and how they're doing it, but they don't have or need warrants so asking to see one is a waste of time and gives you away as someone who doesn't know what you're talking about. They only need a warrant to enter a private space
