We adopted her, her mother and two sisters from a neglectful owner. The mother was biting the kittens tails and was highly aggressive with anyone who approached them. But since we've taken them in, there have been no issues. And the mother Mara is completely sweet and a great mother. Their tails have healed well and they attack everything in sight.

What I think is that she was under a lot of stress and possibly not being fed enough.

They had taken in multiple other stray cats and the owner of the house didn't want her or the kittens.

That seems awful. For a mother to begin eating her kittens due to stress, she must have been under a lot of stress. You're their saviour.
