"Do the spools help?"

"They help."

I am impressed that the source material is uniform and clean enough for them to just use it straight.

Or perhaps all that mess is from the settling pond scrapings an they don't care about the wastage?

We take so much for granted that is based on somebody far away doing something repetitively all day, everyday for little pay.

Thank you. Our standard of living is upheld by brown people very far away performing labour we would not do for even a hundred times the pay.
….and then we kill them. Sometimes with bombs, sometimes with food/fuel sanctions. We are the beneficiaries of an evil that is unspeakably hideous.

I'm curious what's being pumped in that spits out perfectly blended, pressed clay like that. I mean, if you want the bricks to last you've got to get the mixture right, right?

I don't think there's a mix, just straight clay. Which seems wrong.

You can make "short clay" bricks by just using clay. It will crack and break when dried. Not good for much.

I dunno what the ratio and everything else is, but you need to water it down, strain it, add sand or silt in the right ratio and then include binders.
