I got super pissed at a commercial here in Canada for TD bank where they advertised how their financial services can help you budget and it showed these two young women who are paying a subscription service to a service called CatFlix so their cat can watch TV. The implication that people have trouble saving because they're wasting money on frivolous things, being put forward by a BANK that makes its money selling predatory financial products.

I also live in Missouri and have seen none of this. I think it is artificially generated. But, these people are completely consumed with religious fervor and superstition, so any idiocy can be expected. It is a shame they are allowed to vote. The ultimate issue with democracy is that any vote counts and most voters are not qualified to even make grocery list.

Oh man, that sucks. Once place I worked had that...I would just change the channel, or turn off the tv. Even if there were people in there. I have heard of a better trick. If nobody is around you could go into the menu and turn on parental controls, then set a code to block that channel. (mainly fox news, but your call)
