Especially if you have LED lights.

OR WHEN BEHIND SOMEONE! It gets right in the eyes! And it's not as if it's that dark in the car park Marcus!

and if you are driving with your fog lights on when it isn't foggy, you are a tool

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I noticed too that so many folks drive with their high beams on now. Super annoying.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

This happens all the time and it drives me crazy. I don't know if ppl just forget they are on which happens or they are assholes

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

In my town it seems people are just too ignorant to replace the low beams and just ride with high beams on

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I hate these fuckers. I still switch mine off, but riiight when I'm close enough to blind them- bam. They go right back on :)

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

street light every 20 feet? better use my high beams

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

i have a truck with stock high and low beams but a 50 inch LED light bar on the roof.. if you fail to turn your highs off, i'll make it hurt

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Is it possible for cars to have a feature where the lights get dimmed automatically as soon as it detects oncoming traffic.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I have 310 watts of focused extra driving lights (HID and LED) and a few quick flashes usually does the trick. 1/

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

2/ Bonus: Also works very well behind slow drivers in the left lane on the highway.

8 years ago | Likes 0 Dislikes 1

God bless you, they have a ton if these not so bright ppl here in VA with that problem using high beam most of the time

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Bright lights, dull minds.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Doing this in germany will lead to you beeing rammed of the road and stoned in public. We take traffic violations very serius.

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

I need to move to Germany.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I've lived in the city so long now that I honestly forget my brights are on on those rare occasions I use them. Sorry guys.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Basic driving skills are terrible in the US. I would ask them to make the test about three times harder, but they never will

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

The problem is that the written test is harder than the driving bit. They choose funny wording and make you remember arbitrary numbers.

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 2

If you can't pass a written test that requires a bit of cognitive function how the fuck do you expect to manoeuvre a ton of metal at 50mph?

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

I'm not saying the written test shouldn't be hard, just that the actual driving part is incredibly easy.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Driving is easy, you just have to be aware of your surroundings and react accordingly. Most accidents are caused by inattentive people.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I am surprised how some LEDs headlights are even legal. Some are absolutely blinding even on normal setting. Boils my blood, its dangerous.

8 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 3

I agree!

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

HID’s. Not LED. High Intensity Discharge vs. Light Emitting Diode. Improper HID alignment and using something on the Kelvin scale (1/3)

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Washington state. (3/3)

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

that is way out of line causes those lights to be blinding. Most aftermarket HID’s are outside legal spectrum, at-least in (2/3)

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I don't know that they're illegal here in Arizona, but headlight alignment is a big issue here. Mostly because nobody knows it can be done.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I hate the cyclists that have near 1k lumen led strobe lights on their handle bars. Yes blind the people moving several tons of metal 1/2

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

In your direction, what's the worse that can happen right?

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

The LED's are the absolute fucking worst. Especially if the cunt didn't aim them properly

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

I always thought the LEDs were just obnoxiously bright. If so, they shouldn't be allowed!

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

And clean them when you stop for gas, they will work better without salt/mud/grime/ice/bugs on em

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

If the high beam selector was mounted on the floor like God intended, MAYBE I'd remember!

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

I’m guessing you are American and born before the eighties? :) You can easily convert to a floor switch.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

60's. Too cheap to pay for it, too fat to do it myself.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I actually considered putting a floor switch in my car for the extra driving lights.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Some people suck

8 years ago | Likes 29 Dislikes 1

I have auto high beams. Didn't know what I was missing out on until I got them. So nice.

8 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 2

I have them too but get mad at my car when it doesn't react in time

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Just on/off, or the fancy partial low-beam kind?

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

hows that work with cyclists?

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Like not at all

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yes! I bought a car yesterday with them.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Some people simply forget they have them on. Just remind them and they will turn it off. It really isn't an issue. I've had a licence for -

8 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 3

I forget I have them on a lot and I am sure others do. Low traffic area with unlit roads, but there are cars. A little flash and all is well

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 2

You're lucky then because I constantly get blinded and those fuckers don't do shit when I flash them.

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

10 years and only met 2 who would not turn lights off. Even then i could choose not to look straight into them.

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 2

Out here in rural MO a lot of people drive with them and are oblivious to flashing.

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

People who city drive with their high beams on deserve a special place in hell

8 years ago | Likes 167 Dislikes 3

A level they reserve for child molesters and people who talk at the theater.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Most of the time I see it, it's people with a headlight out but they don't want to change it, so they just leave their high beams on.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Seriously, I use my high beams maybe once a year. And that's when I go out of the city off major highways. It's not necessary.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I hate when you flash your beams at them to remind them they forgot to turn theirs off, & they just flash back. Like no, I'm not 1/2

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 2

fucking saying hello you dickwad. Turn your damn brights off. 2/2

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 2

If you flash them and they flash you back and the light output increases they are indicating to you they don't have high beams on.

8 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

I'm pretty sure 90% of them, at least in my town, are doing it because they have a headlight out. A friend from Massachussetts told me...

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

people actually get ticketed for that and I was astounded. Traffic enforcement must be nice.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Here's an idea.. fix your broken shit so you aren't being a unsafe asshole on the road??

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Oh. I totally agree. They should be ticketed for driving with brights and again if they are doing it because they have a headlight out.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I, ah, have been known to turn on my highs + lightbar if their highs are on and they don't dim them after 2 warning flashes. #petty

8 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 1

Not all heroes wear capes

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Had a friend that got pulled over by the police b/c her high beams were on- in the city. She was pissed! I didn't bother getting into it...

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

High beams aren't for city driving. They have street lights for that shit. Your friend is a shitty driver

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That's illegal were I live

8 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

Sure, but is it enforced?

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Yes, and I happens very rarely. Flashing them once is usually enough if someone forgets.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

2017 F350 work truck, get flashed all the time and when pulling trailers. New truck lights are just bright. Constantly flash back toshowhigh

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

Dousche

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 3

When you hook onto a trailer, your rear suspension squats a bit, cauing your headlight angle to change.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Yes ofcourse the weight does that.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

doesn't the truck have a dial to adjust the light angle down when towing? our ancient ford ranger has that feature

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I'd have to look, but yes they all have an adjustable feature.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Then you might want to check if they're set properly and adjust them when pulling a trailer

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 2

They are set for when empty, I'm not messing with them.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Then you're an asshole. There's a very easy way to adjust the headlights. Pop the hood and do it if you're towing. The weight brings your1/2

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Front end up and your bright headlights are pointing directly at people's eyes. It's dangerous and blinding people causes accidents.

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Isn't there a switch where you can lower their beams?

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Inside the truck no. Maybe fully equipped trucks.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Oh, I thought that it was a standard equipment, every car I've had has had one. Guess it's country/region related. For example here in 1/

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I have LEDs and often have people flash their lights at me thinking I have my brights on and then I actually shine my brights at them heuheu

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 2

I get so tired of people flashing me. The car came with the LEDs...they flash me and then BAM! THESE ARE MY HIGH BEAMS! It honestly gets old

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

You've probably done that to me, I feel both angry and embarrassed when that happens.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I tilted mine down a bit so I think it’s just people being turds

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yeah hate the LED. Blind me every time.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

I have mine tilted down a bit so honestly I think they’re just being cry babies

8 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

Nah. Pretty sure you're about to be abducted by aliens on that lonely stretch of road.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Lol, on a lot of Michigan roads this is true

8 years ago | Likes 66 Dislikes 1

I probably looked drunk as hell last night, with my high beams on, swerving like a lunatic to avoid pot holes.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Happens way too much in AZ as well. I suspect that the governor has convened a panel to explore outdoing every state's "worst".

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Can confirm

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Tennessee resident here, can confirm that this happens here constantly.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

And don’t forget to dim them when you’re right behind someone too.

8 years ago | Likes 276 Dislikes 2

This is what I have trouble with more, and people almost always refuse to pass. Tapping your breaks and slowing down does nothing.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I was pulling a trailer with my minivan down some backroads at 1am and some dickhead in a truck decided to tailgate me with their lights-

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Right in my fucking mirror. I slowed down to 15 mph in a 55 and waved him on to get him to pass. Took him forever to figure out

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Im fairly certain he was trying to use me for deer bait. Jokes on him my trailers solid channel iron his truck would be nothing if i stopped

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Some moron last night turned his high beams on me right behind me because I “cut him off” while he was going 100 in the right lane.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

My favorite game is guessing whether I'm being blinded by someone's brights, or just a truck with lights set too high

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

All of the above

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Or when your behind a snowplow

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Whos behind is a snowplow?

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

People whom drive behind a snowplow in a snowstorm. Is that what you meant?

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

No, I'm asking to whom does the arse that looks like or is a snowplow belong.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

As a rule, if I can see their tail light I don’t turn on my brights

8 years ago | Likes 31 Dislikes 0

A bit early to do it, but better that than too late.

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 6

As someone getting high-beamed in the rearview all the time, if you can see tail lights you can cause distraction even miles up the road.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

If I can see their lights they can definitely see mine and it’s distracting

8 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 1

Thank you!

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

See yes, but assuming a flat road and full vision. You can see them before your lights are distracting. But as I said better early than late

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 4

Isn't this common stuff taught in driving school?

8 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

Paying attention is another problem. When I went, majority were either sleeping, playing on phone, or literally staring out the window....

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I guess so. But how did those people do in theoretics test?

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

My state doesn't HAVE driving school. And has a lot of people who don't even realize their high-beams are even on (or all their lights are1/

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

off) because they only drive on the well-lit city streets. 2/2

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

How do people get their licence in there?

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Permit test takes 5 minutes, didn't even take any studying. Drive req was 15 day, 5 night hours. Test was easy enough for a blind 5YO to 1/

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

pass. I didn't even USE a quarter of what my parents (Chicago and Colorado natives respectively) taught me. And Night hours are based on 2/

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

What driving school?

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 4

The one you go to get your licence

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

In Ontario you don't actually need driving school to get your license, but you get your full license faster if you go to one, plus you 1/

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Get a significant discount on your insurance rates. I wish it were mandatory though

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

What? How do you normally get your licence then?

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

In the US licenses are issued by the license bureau not by a school. At least everywhere I've lived.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Here in Finland licences are issued by local police but you have to have certain amount of driving and theoretical lessons. School is bit 1/

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Misleading name since they are private companies, driving school is just a literal translation. 2/2

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I wasn’t taught this, but I knew it because my dad told me. I guess even the driving school teachers think it’s common knowledge.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Here you train night-time driving either on simulator or irl, depending on time of the year.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

We have to take night time driving lessons but when you do them in summer it’s still bright out.. that was my case!

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yeah, it's he same problem here. I did mine in a simulator.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I don't understand why you need them on in the first place

8 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 15

Depends on where you're at. Back home in the country, it gets pitch black and there are also a lot of big animals crossing roads.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I can understand if it's late, going down a 2 lane rd with little light, but switch it off for oncoming cars instead of blinding people

8 years ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 0

They're useful in the middle of nowhere. They're redundant in the middle of cities.

8 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

When it's really dark it helps you spot things like moose easier.

8 years ago | Likes 29 Dislikes 0

Moose are the size of F-150s and they can do a lot of damage if you hit one.. v

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Have you ever driven at night outside a city?

8 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

To be fair, the LED low beams on my freightliner are so bright ppl think i am using my brights. I use them primarily to prove I am not...

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

The brightness of the bulb is irrelevant. The angel is relevant. I’ve seen these led bulbs.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

When they switch to high beams after I flash the lights go OVER my eyes.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yeah well trucks do have powerful lights, I often think they have their high beams on until I see them switch them on and it's a second sun

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

I refer to thw high beams as light cannons.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Unlit roads (common outside of cities) really need the extra light to be able to see hazards. Like deer. Or large rocks.

8 years ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 0

Or the shiftless moose on the side of the road hurling beer cans and tim horton's coffee at passing traffic.

8 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

Come to Sweden.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Are the moose there better? What about those shifty reindeer?

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

A moose once bit my sister.
