I'm so sorry. I've lost cats where I knew it was coming, and lost them out of the blue, and I'm not sure which is harder. Missy's kidneys started shutting down a year ago, so I just kept her as comfortable as I could and kept an eye on her. I figured as long as her quality of life seemed good, I'd wait until she let me know it was time. Sad as it is, I'm glad she was able to pass at home, where she felt comfortable and safe.

Thank you. She's the fourth cat I've said goodbye to, and it really never gets easier. She had a good long life, and at least she got to pass at home, not at the vet. She passed in her sleep, curled up in front of the heater vent like normal.

She was so pretty, and such a character. Never a dull moment with her around, even when she got older and slowed down. She was an expert at opening cupboards and drawers, so you never knew when you might find her just hanging out when you wanted a dish.
