Lol yeah I don't that. Actually I don't like these boots as much. But all the other ones are metallic and heavy. Why isn't their more styles for boots maybe if switch my waist... but then my torso wouldn't make sense...aww this covers too much...it is really cold in this area so that would make sense...aw that's cute...
In most games, the time you spend creating a character is inversely proportional to the effort the devs put into making you feel like that character is part of the game world rather than merely a generic hollow puppet with no personality that you'll use to vicariously make mostly irrelevant choices.
Am I the only one that spends a maximum of like 3 minutes on the character creator? I always just pick the 1st face I like, then alter the hair and beard and then move on.
Hey, if my virtual slave is a fit D-cup purple-skinned lizard latina with mauve-metallic hair and dark aliens eyes in Saints Row, it'll take its time until it's finished.
Jesus H, that's inane. After making it to Act III in BG3, I don't customize the guardian in subsequent playthroughs anymore. It just feels unnecessary.
Playing Champions of Norrath, you always had the option to strip down and frolic through the dungeon in your skivvies. Always appreciated that about the game.
Except for the small icon you see on the character menu, that is not customizable and got a total of 8 faces. So you end up with the only decent one and you will keep seeing it instead of your character built.
annoyingly it resets when you rotate your party members, it should stick because so many of those helms are ugly (but I did find a really bitchin' hat I put on Wyll because it adds his Cha modifer to his other rolls)
You know, Wyll gets some really good cloth armor from Mizora if you kill Karlach like he's supposed to. You can even take the head to the "paladins" for the sword without fighting. Then just take the armor from Wyll since he's gonna leave you when you agree to kill all the druids for Minthara anyway.
rmmmm
*cough* Baldur’s Gate *cough*
MisterLemons
Yeah nah always skip that part. Don't care, it's a first person shooter and the dude is wearing enough armor to make a tank blush.

VodkaReindeer
I was upset because TTWL default was so shitty that I had to put in minimal effort to choose.
Someshithead241
I never gave a shit about it in fallout, but I love doing it in Baldurs Gate. No idea if that's just because I hate sliders or what
HisBubbliness
I can't stand character creation for games like this.
RustiPianowire
Depends on the game, but sometimes I just youtube creator creation and pick one I think is kool and follow it
DodgyMerchant
Pussies! He ought to try OS TTRPG like Aftermath, Bushido or Space Opera for truly horrific Char Gen.
Starfury42
I play GW2 and always uncheck the helmet....unless it's around Easter and it's bunny ears.
Botticelliii
Spend enough time creating a post apocalyptic character and see yourself turn into one.

I take a little time.. but going over half an hour? Hell no
AregularolPlumbus
Maybe 10 for me. I set out to try to make it look like me, but I get bored and end up settling for the Wish.com version of myself.
DaithiUK
Default selection and go. It takes enough effort sort out your real world character, I don't have time to stylise cheap clones.
GTimgur
I used to spend a long time, but I only bother with that anymore when I'm going to be seeing the character a lot.

permissiontolosedenied
No, You are not the only one.
SirHonytawk
Haven't played Baldurs Gate 3, have we? A minimum of 1 hour is needed just to see the options available.
JohnnySilverballs
Nah, currently on my 3rd playthrough, actually lol
AfterTheRainComesTheRainbow
Friend of mine spent 5 1/2 hours on creating their Tav and the Guardian in Baldur's Gate 3, they ran a timer XD
JohnnySilverballs

AfterTheRainComesTheRainbow
Yeah I give the guardian very basic customisations now, but I don't spend toooo long on Tav, unless I'm being hella picky
vanishing
The character that I will never see again due to either the first person perspective or covering them in armor.
Sm9yCg
that's what mods are for. On PC at last.

It's nice when they give you the option to disable "masks" or "headgear" for this reason.

Aasgeier
Is it though? It reminds me of this stupid trope that no hero ever wears a helmet in movies.
Groetgaffel
They said option you rube. Don't like it, don't enable it.
Aasgeier
And why do you start throwing childish insults around? If you don't like it, don't comment.
Groetgaffel
Because "less options please" is an opinion that's actively bad for the general playerbase.
modis
BG3 allows this but also allows you to appear in your “casual” clothing set at all times as well.
villlllle
Which is why I lost all my gold at the underwear store in Baldur's Gate.
modis
Acceptable expenses.
skwint
Or being so small the Karlach totally obscures the view
TyrannusEquus
She IS the view

They are both my followers. The "paladins" had a "accident".

Ah, so you missed out on Mommy Minthara. Shame.

Well, no one MADE you play a gnome.
vegivamp
A non-binary, femme gnome that's hung like a horse, to be exact.
YesmynameisGreg
False. "Speak with animals" as a base racial trait is just necessary in a Larian game. Never avoid the animals.
TheDarkNye
Soo many speak with animal potions....
vegivamp
Artifacts, too.
