His flight was delayed delayed delayed and five hours later it was canceled. It's now 1:00am and they kicked him out of the terminal at Atlanta along with 400 others. Spirit Airlines.

Spirit is the worst!!!

I flew up to Seattle once. During the week I was there, the entire airline folded. Didn't find out until I got to the airport to fly home.

We've got Spirit, yes we do, we've got Spirit, now go...shoooe!

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

How old is he

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

From what I've heard Spirit Airlines is one of the worst airlines in the business, so you should have already known this was going to happen

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Something tells me this isn't some 9-yr old. I'm sure he can handle it.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Sorry your flight has been cancelled, enjoy being homeless now...

Hahahahha

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Moral of the story: don't fly Spirit. Not sure why anyone flies with them anymore.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Lack of other options.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

At least you didn't pay $30 for a seat. Get a different seat on the same flight. Then get a refund. I hear that is the absolute worst.

8 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 3

This happens all the time with Spirit and they don't care that's why you get the ultra low price from them

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

That's the Spirit.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I once got a booking confirmation email from Spirit even though I had no flight booked and live across the Atlantic (1)

8 years ago | Likes 34 Dislikes 1

I contacted them to warn them that someone had used someone else's email to book their flight I was rewarded with 2 spam emails a day (2)

8 years ago | Likes 29 Dislikes 0

You lucky someabitch I only get one a day

That's the spirit, have faith in the dude.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Honestly, by the look of him (I zoomed in on the pic), he doesn't looked older than...maybe 15/16 yrs old, if that. @OP, how old is he?

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 4

Read OP's comment history. I went there to find out more abt her son and wow. Just wow.

8 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

Did y'all not see my typo, or actually just let it slide?

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

@OP

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

This seems like the same sort of mom that yells at teachers for him sleeping in class

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 3

You left your son in the care of the cheapest possible service available.

8 years ago | Likes 28 Dislikes 2

These things happen when the only factor in a ticket is the lowest price. YGWYPF.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

They can do that? Here the airline would have to provide hotel and transportation and a seat on the next available flight.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

My cousin was getting married. Her parents were flying in three days before the wedding on spirit cause it was cheap. The flight got (1/2)

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Cancelled last minute and they were offered no refund. They had to drive across the country in three days. They made it with 30 min to spare

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Dont choose an airline known for canceling flights.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

I'm sure someone else posted this but that's the spirit!

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Atlanta/Huntsville doesn't close. #themoreyouknow

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Seriously this is one of the stupidest things to hit front page since the haunted mine in Australia.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Not a source in sight!

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Don't ever fly spirit. Every fgc member trying to go somewhere flying spirit has never had a good time.

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

FGC? Sorry all the things that pop up for it are a bit obscure so I have no idea which one it could be haha

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Fighting game community, I'm assuming.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Also what I assume, especially giving the timing - evo etc.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

kicked out of the terminal, not the airport. You're not telling the whole story, just surfing for pity. May you should talk to him 1/

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Yeah that part is bullshit.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

2/ and ask him about if they rebooked him. Shit happens, but no company wants that sort of bad press, they usually fix that sort thing.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

You pay for "ultra low fare" get "ultra low service" get what you pay for

8 years ago | Likes 29 Dislikes 7

I paid ultro low fares and got cancelled, got 400 euros, hotel room, coupon for food and a flight the next day.

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

How is this service at all?

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

This is what you get when you fly an airline that does one flight a day or even a week between places. If they cancel you're fucked.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Has he been... Spirited Away?

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

you're my spirit animal.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Why does such crappy service by airlines our seem to affect the US?

8 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 1

It's definitely not only in the US, there are shitty low cost carriers all over the world.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

In this particular case it is because it's an ultra-cheap, shitty airline.

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Because american's are brainwashed into believing "you get what you pay for" and constantly accept less and less for more and more.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Because airlines like spirit and United are budget as fuck and it's to be expected? Least we're not Malaysia.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Because we're whiny babies.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Aer Lingus has been pretty crappy so far in my experience.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

A tad irrelevant, but do detail?

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Responding that it's not just American airlines that suck. Aer Lingus cancelled all routes out of Nice and just cancelled our flight.

Former AA employee here. Can confirm.

8 years ago | Likes 25 Dislikes 0

I think being bumped off a flight, and flight being cancelled are different.

8 years ago | Likes 88 Dislikes 2

Dang woulda been nice to know this like a year ago.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

how do people not know rules like this ? here in Europe it is not % of your flight but 200 - 600 euros for a late flight or cancelled

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Wish we had that here for delayed flights

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I mean I was there before the plane was to depart the gate but only barely so they put someone else on my seat. Would this even apply?

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

ahh no, then you where late :) totally your own fault

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

I mean I still had 5 mins :(

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Of course declaring force majeure would instantly negate this, which is more than likely what they did

8 years ago | Likes 25 Dislikes 1

Only if it was like terrible weather that shut down the flight. force majeure can't be used for normal incompetence.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Can't declare force majeure unless it was beyond their control (couldn't have been prevented), according to their T&C.

8 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

Oh they'll claim that shit over anything. Including talking on a 9hr delayed flight because people are sleeping.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Beyond their control... like a pilot strike... which is the problem they've been having and the reason I got stuck in Vegas overnight.

8 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

Ah, I didn't know. Yeah, then they can do that.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

To be fair, in the case of the 4 flights that got cancelled during my trip, everyone got a hotel and rebooked on other airlines.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Damn. And I just bought a ticket with Spirit.

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

Have fun paying $3 for little half bottles of water. WITH CASH ONLY. Also, enjoy the ballpark bench seats with cloth on them. Terrible

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Shhhhiiiiiiit

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yeah. I've flown on spirit once and won't ever again. I have a bad back and was tremendous pain for a week on a two hour flight. Sorry man

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Oh also, MAKE SURE you read their baggage policy closely. It's $100 to check one at the gate. I watched an old man almost cry because of it.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Whyyyyyyyy? Was southwest not going where you were going?

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Ha, yeah I used to fly Spirit because southwest had to have a layover by law out of Dallas. Once that was lifted haven't flew anything else

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Southwest never flies where I need them to.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Shame.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I know, I like them a lot. They fly to my hometown and where I currently live, but they won't fly between the two. It's BS.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Spirit sucks major dick

8 years ago | Likes 165 Dislikes 3

As someone who has served with major Dick since he was still a private I must object to this slander! Dicky is a faithful husband!

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I only fly Spirit if its a commuter flight under two hours and I can fit everything in my backpack otherwise its not worth it and it sucks.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

When you book budget airlines, you get budget service

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

That's the spirit

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

at least they don't drag you off the plane

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yes they do. I had to fly to a specialist surgeon a month ago to take care of some shit and spirit cancelled my flight. I couldn't take 1/4

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

the rescheduled one for the next day because it literally didnt fit my schedule for surgery prep or anything. Had to book another flight 2/4

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

with delta at 300 bucks. Then the day before I come home I find that because I didn't go to my reschedule flight THEY CHOSE for me... 3/4

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

they cancelled my return trip, so I had to pay ANOTHER 200 bucks just to get home on the same god damn flight. $120 total originally... 4/4

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Ended up spending $500 extra because of their fucking shit. I'm so livid. Never flying spirit again. Even travel insurance screwed me.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

That's why it's cheap as balls. Gotta weigh how much you want to save money versus how much don't like getting ass raped.

8 years ago | Likes 22 Dislikes 0

It ain't even that much cheaper than southwest. Owned by the same company, one is heaven, one is Satan's ball itch.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

My wife booked spirit because it was the "cheapest". I showed her baggage fees, did the math, booked AA, & cancelled Spirit. Saved $30

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

For a regular sized carry on. Not sprits backpack load.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Same as Frontier and Allegiant. As someone who works at an airport, the low cost carriers treat their customers like scum.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

?1

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Is your son 40 or 4. Need more context to this.

8 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

He just turned 18, so on paper he's an adult. But no 18 year old, no 48 year old should be treated like this. Lesson learned.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Abandoning a 4 year old at an airport is quite a different matter than abandoning a 18 or 48 year old.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

If he's under 18 and he was under their care, you can sue.

8 years ago | Likes 55 Dislikes 3

Thanks for commenting, he just turned 18, but if you got 'em, you know that's just a useless number. He was crying and angry.
