Don't worry when self-driving Cars come out that'll go back to being true.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

At least you got a bit of space there, so keep space truckin!

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Read The Big Rig by Steve Viscelli, trucking isn't what it used to be

My teacher said we need to learn how to do math in our head, because nobody will carry a calculator in their pocket.

8 years ago | Likes 27 Dislikes 0

my third grade teacher said we absolutely had to learn cursive, because no one would accept print after that.

8 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

I was shocked when my 3rd grader told me he wouldnt be learning cursive. Altho he can use the computer better than I can. So.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

How do you feel about the advent of self driving vehicles?

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Welder/fabricator here. I used to work on car haulers. Damn good job, it was.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

My teacher told me that I wouldn't have a calculator when I grow up -> computer programmer.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

From the son of a truck driver i knows its hard. Mad respect.

I truly feel bad for the truckers I see here in Houston. People drive like shit here.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I was born in Pasadena and raised in Galena Park. And you are correct. But being a cab driver there was a blast.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Can you send me one of those anti lot lizard stickers? I had one from when I hitchhiked but lost it over the years and it was my favorite.

"Swift" on the side will prevent any romantic entrepreneurs from approaching.

As a wannabe van driver I need to read this upcoming post.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I hit Columbia, SC afternoon traffic on Wednesday, then Atlanta morning traffic on Thursday. I need to trip plan better...

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Man I hate going thru Atlanta. I do what I can to try to go thru at 2am but doesn't always work out.

Why is a variation of this being posted every day.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

I was stuck in 35 dallas traffic and thinking about those other ones. So I snapped the pic and took it to a bad place lol

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

So you would rather do it for free?

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Most of the cats that you meet on the street speak of true love.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I couldn't handle getting paid by the mile when so many external factors dictate how long it takes to cover those miles.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I need to get this message out to truckers. As someone who has worked at a Truck Stop, please stop throwing your filthy piss jugs around.

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Jesus I feel sorry for anyone that works a truck stop.

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

I use a bigger jug that can take a few pisses, and empty it discreetly when its full. After a few weeks I wash it and recycle it.

Way of the Road, Bubs. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xb0bwbcfd28

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Ok but Ray, you haven't been on the road in 20 fuckin years

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The few times I've used any kind of container... I've been... VERY careful with it. I mean, it's full of pee. I don't want it on me. 1+

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

2/2 I don't even want it to touch the outside of the container. The SMELL, man.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I would imagine in the US you don't get paid for time stuck in traffic.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Correct. Most drivers are paid by the mile. I own my truck so I get paid a lump sum for the load, but it's similar in that I am not making-

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

- money if I'm delayed or sitting looking for a load.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

I've seen this meme about 10 times in the last 2 days... if you drive trucks you likely aren't getting 'paid'

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 6

I made this meme as a response to the others hyping the job. I took this sitting in traffic on 35 tonight. As for money? Yeah. We do.

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

It just isnt worth it.

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

I quit driving to work in an office, so not worth it. Went back to truck driving. Fuck office people.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

+1 for username. And yeah.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Although, at this point I'm not sure which is worse: Other drivers, or office people. Ya can't win.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Well, if it makes you feel any better @OP, self-driving trucks aren't far away.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

I would love to witness the annihilation of this industry . the pay is good. The people suck. Walk around a truck stop one time and see.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Oh, I have. I will pass on that.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I dunno I wish my teachers would have told me I can make 70-100k a year driving a truck.

8 years ago | Likes 89 Dislikes 3

You're a steering wheel minder Harry.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

It takes a huge toll on your family life, especially if you're a long hauler.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

then why the f....did the neighbor move in next door

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

I love driving and totally would have loved to be a truck driver. But Im female and told it wasn't the safest career choice for us.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

you don't make that much, at least not right away and not without owning your own truck, but then there are additional expenses

8 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

I made 63k my first year as a company driver. I average about 67k five years in. It's not 70k, but pretty hecking good.

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

I'm glad it pays well, because it's crazy important and most of us couldn't handle the madness-inducing vehicle time.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

You could double that figure and I wouldn't do it. I haaaaaaate long road trips

8 years ago | Likes 22 Dislikes 0

I hate short trips too. It's... not as bad at, like, 3 am, after the drunks have gone home. (bars close at 2 am here. Cops + drunks = no)

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

i love druving but even i have my limit

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

200K a year for driving? You would be insane not to take that job

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

What if you already make 200k elsewhere.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I literally drove from kansas city, missouri to new orleans for fun

8 years ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 1

That sounds horrible. I've gone coast to coast twice and I hope I never have to do it again

8 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

So what do you like to do?

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Butt stuff.
