As a motorcyclist, I fully understand the risk I take venturing onto the roadways on two wheels. I live in Oklahoma, which does not require a rider over 18 years of age to wear a helmet. I however, choose to wear one. I have seen the aftermath of a crash where the rider was sans helmet, and well, it wasn’t pretty, and very fatal. Now not only does a helmet offer protection for the ol’ noggin’ in the event the worst happens, it offers a bit of billboard space too! And that brings me to my next point. Drivers, please, for the love of everything holy (or unholy, whichever floats your goat), put your fucking phone down. Seriously. Put it down. Of all the close calls I’ve had because of a distracted driver, 9 out of 10 times it’s because the driver was texting, taking selfies, or just plain dicking around on their phone. So, my contribution to the various anti texting movements, is the above decal. Very subtle, yet straight to the point. *FP edit: Wow! Most Viral! Thanks guys! Several people have asked where they can get one of these decals. I wish I could take the credit for them, but all credit goes to Moons MC, and you can find them at https://www.moonsmc.com/collections/frontpage/products/get-off-your-fucking-phone-sticker. Cheers!

One of the members of my husband’s MC was just struck and nearly killed by a kid on their phone. PLEASE FUCKING PUT YOUR GD PHONE DOWN.

I walk to work and i've noticed more and more people ignoring crosswalks and stop lights while staring down at their crotch while driving.

Riders: stop using you faster smaller vehicle to skirt and break the rules putting undo stress and motorists.

7 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Riders stop squeezing your self between the lines and scratching cars while doing so

7 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Jup just today I saw a girl crash into stationary cars on a red light. She was still holding her phone after the accident

7 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

I mean, do you really want someone trying to read that that fine print in the rearview going 70 on the freeway?

7 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 1

Drinking and driving is dumb as fuck, but texting and driving is making a sober and conscious decision to be a dumb fuck. Dont do it.

7 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 1

I just had a coworker killed in a motorcycle accident. Always look twice for bikers

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Wow, I know some people hate bikers, but having your coworkers killed over it is appalling.

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I love in Oklahoma city, just last month there was a fatal motorcycle accident outside my job because the driver didn't have a helmet on.

7 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

It's highly unlikely that the driver wearing a helmet would have saved the rider.

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Cyclists complain after accelerating quickly through traffic, not giving cars space, and expecting cars to drive at a uniform speed.

7 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Sadly, no one will listen to you. They do not care. Too many f'n people do it daily. Running off the damn road. They don't care.

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

If someone nearly hits you with their car, is it illegal to punch there window?

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Illegal, yes. Upstanding, moral behavior? Also yes.

7 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Losing your balance and falling, highly probable? Yes

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I'm always yelling "Hang up and drive!" Too many self-absorbed assholes on the roads.

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Fucking phones. I love how drivers like to complain about bikes but text and drive constantly. Or watch movies, or scroll facepalmbook

7 years ago | Likes 83 Dislikes 16

Had me at facepalmbook

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Isn't that illegal?

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Or vigorously masturbate... right? Right guys? ... when drivers do that?

7 years ago | Likes 30 Dislikes 1

When you bring too many socks on a trip it'd be wrong to not put them to good use

7 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

And use your fucken turn signals!

7 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 2

That goes for cars, and motorcycles, and bicycles, and trucks...

7 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Riders: pls stop thinking you have a warp drive on the highway. I know there are good and bad riders out there, but I see this way too often

7 years ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 6

ENGAGE BRAAP

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

What?

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

I ride every single day, and it just amazes me how many people can't go 30 seconds without looking at their fucking phone. I just assume

7 years ago | Likes 25 Dislikes 5

It’s amazing how short attention spans are getting

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

everyone is on their phone or otherwise wants to kill me at this point.

7 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

I’ve seen bikies on phones, drive down the middle of two lanes, swerve in and out of traffic, like seriously bikies are just as shit drivers

7 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Lane splitting/filtering is safer for riders and drivers

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 4

I won’t disagree w/ you there. I’m just speaking from my experience. I do my best to ride safely and be courteous, same as in my car.

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I've been riding for 7 years and I definitely agree, but there are also a lot of bikers that drive like fucking idiots, also. 1/2

7 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

2/2 If you ride like a moron in between cars and don't pay attention your likeliness of getting creamed goes up exponentially.

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

+1 for helmet

7 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 5

That's all that's on display here, what else would you be +1?

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

My state lobbies very hard to let us ignore helmets and I love them for it. Seal belts should be next. It's my body I'm risking fuck off.

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

I hear ya. People get so combative when trying to tell others what to do "for their own good".

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

As a trucker I can easily see down into peoples cars. In heavy traffic, I'd see I notice about 75% of people on their phones

7 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Same on the Motorcycle, makes me realize most people complaining about it are also doing it.

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

That's rage inducing

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

It is, but I still have to maintain control of my vehicle. And I mean I can only honk my air horn so much. Most people don't even look up

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I've started honking my horn at people on their phones.

7 years ago | Likes 35 Dislikes 5

Cool, that's illegal. That helps everything. Problem solved. What a hero. Actually, probably should just fighting stupid with stupid.

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 3

You must honk a lot.

7 years ago | Likes 23 Dislikes 0

I honk at anyone who does something stupid or dangerous.

7 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

be careful with that. Used to do it too until a driver got scared by it and nearly swerved into a guard rail

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I believe this is an excellent way to promote operant conditioning in the general populace.

7 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I feel like we need to come up with the next iteration of the horn. It's literally the most basic form of communication and yet we have to-

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

-rely on it to get across a plethora of curse words to those around us.

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

how's that going for ya? anyone get mad and road raged?

7 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

Actually, I’ve had a lot of people acknowledge that they’re being idiots and apologize

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Air horn

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

If I stop at a light and see driver next to me on phone I lay on the horn til they stop. I'm much bigger than most people FYI.

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

I check my phone at red lights and avoid doing it while driving. I usually look up frequently for green, to avoid getting the "hey, go!"honk

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Watch out bro people get mad and do stupid things in cages

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Three years ago I was hit by someone texting and driving, I'm still recovering. If I had not had my helmet on I'd be dead.

7 years ago | Likes 46 Dislikes 0

You're awesome. I work with people who have had traumatic brain and/or spinal cord injuries...helmets save lives and personalities and more

7 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

I hope there was a lawsuit

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I chose not to go after him legally cause it would have caused his family alot of problems. I didn't want his kids growing up hating a 1/2

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Man they never met or cause his marriage and alot of problems that his wife didn't deserve cause of his mistake.

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

You have my respect. I hope you live a long fulfilling life. For if there is anyone who deserves such good grace, it should be you.

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

This goes both ways. Drivers put down the fucking phones and pay attention! Bikers don't do stupid shit and assume we can see you perfectly!

7 years ago | Likes 19 Dislikes 2

And turn your light on! I thought that was the law around here, but I've seen people who don't. Much later than I

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

've seen the ones who do.

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

You're not wrong. I always ride as if everyone is intentionally trying to kill me all the time.

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

it's easy to do if you've ever been on the highway

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yeah, I'm super paranoid when driving in the summer months. I try to be hyper aware of all bikes on the road.

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Different issues. Way to co-opt someone else's point to make your own gripe

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 9

Oh no!! Did I use the internet in a bad way??? Shame on me. Have you even been

7 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

on this site before?

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Your expression is shit regardless of the platform.

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 3

hahaha you come at me with that after your first shitty response? Good job pot, nice to meet you, I'm kettle.

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Also PSA: Your blind spot sensors can't see motorcycles as easily as they detect cars... DO NOT RELY ON YOUR BLIND SPOT SENSORS.

7 years ago | Likes 357 Dislikes 3

I thought to myself do people really do this.? Then I thought yes, of course they do. SMH

7 years ago | Likes 23 Dislikes 0

My buddy wants to know wtf a blind spot sensor is? Do you mean mirrors? My 92' Subaru has those.

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

TIL blind spot sensors exist

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

From experience, people don't pay attention to them when they're lighting up for cars either.

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Those are a thing? I've never owned a car that was made in this century

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

The more "safety" tech they put in cars, the more dangerous people are driving!

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

As a motorcyclist, I'm happy that the car I bought has a blind spot camera so I can see EVERYTHING. Every car should have these.

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I dont know how people comfortably change lanes without looking over their shoulder. Its basically driving blind.

7 years ago | Likes 98 Dislikes 0

I have blindspot mirrors so I can see everything without turning (but still usually do)

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

They do it easily and carelessly.

7 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

I lost my last car because of that. Dude merged into me and drove me off he highway, I spun on the hard shoulder and hit the wall. Totalled.

7 years ago | Likes 20 Dislikes 0

Those shouldn't have ever been put on cars, now it's just a crutch for people to not do their job as a good driver

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Never did always got those globe mirror thingies

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I do appreciate when I ride past and I see the little light tho

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Are those a thing?

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

My blind spot sensors have always detected a motorcycle, the only problem is that it's passing faster than I would have time to react to 1/

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

The sensors. Hence, using your fucking mirrors to specifically look for motorcycles! 2/

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

my blind spot sensors are my eyes what in the fuck are you talking about?

7 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

It amazes me when I see people do this. I mena sure it helps to know how the stuff works but relying on them just take so much faith in them

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I'm still amazed cars get fancy BPS but no-one is using the ages old tech called mini wide angle mirrors, except truckers.

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I don't have Blind Spot Monitors...At all. So I use my mirrors, I use my neck that turns, and I leave my blinker on long enough for the 1/

7 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

car that might be in the way to get out of the way. 2/2

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Or even position their mirrors correctly. Your own car shouldn't take up half of it.

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

The blind spot is only there bc side mirrors are not adjusted properly. Adjust just past the point of seeing the side of your car.

7 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 2

That will reduce the size of the blind spot, and is sound advice, but it doesn't eliminate it entirely.

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I like to see a little of my car for a reference point, otherwise you don’t know where things are behind you

7 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

Yup I'm the same way, can always get a bubble too but I prefer turning my head anyways.

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Whatever rocks your boat but I use my rearview mirror to see behind me and the lanes and side of road for reference

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

And of course motorcycle riders, dont drive your bikes like you are invincible.

7 years ago | Likes 225 Dislikes 8

And put down the phone too

7 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

I also live in OK, just moved here, and the motorcyclists here are the worst. No protection in any of them, aggressive as hell.

7 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

That is not OK.

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

this goes for people with civics and lancers and that are all aftermarket neon

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

THANK YOU. I understand the issues that drivers create, but there are also riders who create their own problems.

7 years ago | Likes 32 Dislikes 2

I’ve seen jackasses lane split here in Florida

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

So yeah, i almost got ran over today by a van while on a 6' shoulder, on a bicycle. My flashing lights are bright AF. Pay the fuck attention

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

As a rider, thank you.

7 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

I zip through traffic to gain breathing room from you cunts

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 10

Enjoy my rear windshield, then.

7 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

As you suddenly change lanes without signaling or looking? Nah i can smell you dipshits a mile away.

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 5

Dont get angry when you get clipped then

7 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

If I do it won't be my problem anymore

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

First sensible thing you've said so far. I use my signals btw, but they're not effective to motorcycles weaving traffic at 70+mph.

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Bullshit lol

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 2

True, but ride like you are invisible.

7 years ago | Likes 30 Dislikes 1

This. When you think of this while on the road, you'll have less close calls. Of course, others should still mind their surroundings.

7 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

Only reason I tolerate loud bikes. If I can hear them that tells me they are in the vicinity and to be extra careful

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That's why I'm a fan of modulator headlights, for sight not sound obviously lol. They flicker and get people's attention.

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Go zipping in and out of lanes without proper signaling, excessively speeding, and splitting lanes, and you might get hit.

7 years ago | Likes 71 Dislikes 2

I grew up around motorcycles. Several members of my family have ridden for as long as I can recall. I understand splitting lanes.

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

You want to split lanes in standstill traffic at a logical speed, fine. Otherwise, fuck off.

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I almost killed a guy because he was speeding around a corner as I was about to change lanes . I hope he learned to slow down a bit

7 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 0

You do realize that lane splitting is one of the safest things a motorcycle rider can do right? It prevents getting rear ended, reduces 1/2

7 years ago | Likes 19 Dislikes 18

Lane splitting at 95+ is not safe at all. #quit your bullshit

7 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Please show me where I said 95+

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Congestion, lessens traffic, and keeps the riders cool and not passed out from heat stroke. 2/2

7 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 18

You do realize that traveling at speeds greater than the rest of traffic close to large masses in their blindspots is quite unsafe?

7 years ago | Likes 26 Dislikes 6

That's why you ride a little faster than traffic: so you don't stay in their blindspot.

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 8

Except lane splitting is safe. This has been proven.

7 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 13

Splitting and filtering is life saving. I’d be dead if it wasn’t for it.

7 years ago | Likes 21 Dislikes 17

Everyone drives like the road is theirs, even if it is wreckless and crazy.

One of the most dangerous situations for a bike is being boxed in on the highway going the same speed as cars. Always be passing.

7 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 4

on one wheel ... while juggling .... a chainsaw and ...

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I wish MI would allow filtering at least. I get why most people don't like splitting because yeah i get it, hey how did a bike end up in my

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

blind spot while at speed, but there should never be a problem with stop light filtering

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I grew up riding in SoCal where it’s legal but am now in CO where both are not. I filter daily. I’ll take the ticket anytime over getting 1/

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

pancaked. “Illegally” filtered by a car at a light a few years ago here, car was rear ended by a truck and a passenger was killed. 2/

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

And I'm glad you were able to do so with common sense. Where I'm from, the freeway is full off asswipes.

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

But not at freeway speeds while traffic is at a near standstill. That's just crazy. You want split lanes with the flow of traffic, fine.

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

People on their phones will never see that.

7 years ago | Likes 1089 Dislikes 4

kids will. Jerk off OP should take off the swearing it's public roads man kids get rides from dchool and shit looking at fucking swear words

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 4

I have an air horn on the bike... they hear that. I have seen them toss the phone into the passenger seat.

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Because it's not #HASHTAGGED

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Especially when it's on the helmet I'm not wearing because I live in a state that lets me take my own risks.

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

I saw it on my phone just now.

7 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Or they will see it through their phone camera

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Ha

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Door or window thump, attention gained, point to helmet. Rev and peace out. Do not break mirror.

7 years ago | Likes 23 Dislikes 2

Scaring someone - close quarters on bike - who's not paying attention while driving 2 tons of death at 70mph. How doesn't that end well?

7 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 1

Nobody said 70mph. In city traffic and such, it wouldn't be any more dangerous than allowing the person to stay on thier phone.

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

They look up, nod and put it away

7 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 2

Assuming the knock on the window doesn't startle them into overcompensating with the wheel. I don't like drivers on phones, either. But....

7 years ago | Likes 90 Dislikes 12

Oh poor baby.

7 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 12

I do! And it helps: i get fewer SMIDSYs. Still not perfect, that's why i don't repair my exhaust: so the visually impaired drivers don't ...

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 4

... have to lose 2 hours of their life explaining to the cops why they killed me. (i don't use my brights at dusk or night, obviously)

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

You better believe I have all my lights and high beams on, at any time i'm driving. With the exception of darkness when they'll blind others

7 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 9

Pennsylvania DOT manual teaches riders to always use your brights at night because dumbass drivers dont look. (I added the dumbass part)

7 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 2

Really? That explains some things. Thankfully most (in my experience) ignore it.

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I did come across one with no lights this winter, just past midnight. Going 45mph in the passing lane on I81. Smh

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

weird, most bikes always have lights on

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yeah, and go at least the speed limit unless it's a twisty road. Maybe the tail light was out and they didn't notice. Will baffle me always

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

This is entirely wrong. Whether side by side lights or a single housing, the hi-beams are aimed...higher.

7 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 1

I drove a Volvo car that allows you to aim the beams up or down. Weird thing to have to learn to do

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

and in a car brights is the beam that points more forward, that can get in your eyes. bikes dont change angles.

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 6

No idea what you’re talking about. I’ve never had a bike that doesn’t have a high and low that shine at different angles.

7 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

Go look it up. Most bikes are this way. Even my bike is this way and most of the people I know are as well.

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 4
