Hey Nebraska maybe you should cut down on those large pickup trucks running coal and $400 000.00 John Deere tractors if you want to keep farming.

I'm gonna suffer because of these fascist dipshits and I'm not even in a red state so fuck it, good, I hope the MAGAts become literal wormchow as a result.

Not wanting to be the party pooper, but I can’t find a credible source, only the Facebook post that is already a screen shot.

That's my national embarrassment in chief, everyone!

The objective was to crash the markets buy the dip and profit the rise.

Everything is working as expected.

just tell them to pull on those bootstraps and get lots of those thoughts and prayers.

Have the day they voted for. Good

Unfortunately there's no source for this, even if you go back to the original posts.

See, this is Trump's America First policy in action. Who is going to go bankrupt under the Trump regime? America First, then the rest of the world!

9 months ago | Likes 239 Dislikes 2

It’s fine, he’ll just loot blue states to bail them out

9 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

The peasants will all go bankrupt first, then the billionaires will scope in to buy it all for pennies on the dollar. America first = oligarchs first.

what country out there isn't part of the global economy? You don't think if the US grinds to complete halt economically it will have an impact globally?

9 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yeah, nah we good 👍

Loved when Trump put tariffs on Australian free range beef because we didnt want his nasty ass beef

The rest of the world seems to like it ☺️

As well as our agriculture and mineral wealth

Love you, regards Australia

9 months ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 1

It’s ok, the rest of will do just fine without you. Good luck though…

9 months ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

are you suggesting that America, the country with the highest GDP and the highest rate of imports, completely collapsing economically will have no impact on the rest of the world? Are you that stupid?

9 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 3

Actually it really won’t. America is at this point a service economy serving we Americans and a military industrial complex economy. We really don’t produce things the world needs. And I’m sorry to say this but the us economy doesn’t mean shit. Our gdp is determined almost completely by a handful of people, who well don’t pay taxes. And they can move.

No worries farmers get welfare all the time.

9 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Big corporate farmers do. The family farm guys go bankrupt and an awful lot commit suicide because they've lost the farm their family has had since 1910.

9 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It seems like meaningful consequences will add up quickly, concrete and real, yet there is so much contentment with their own demise. It's like the myth of lemmings following each other off a cliff.

9 months ago | Likes 21 Dislikes 0

It's not a myth sometimes my lemmings from 1991 puzzle game Lemmings really did do that

9 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

My guess is they're convinced Trump will bail them out because they're "his people" and that it will be fine because of it

9 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Yep. There's a baked-in expectation in fascism that the "right folk" will be protected from consequence... but a critical skill of the successful fascist is conning as many people as possible into thinking they're the "right folk", and then leaving them hanging in the breeze the second they stop being useful.

9 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

well yeah, they can blame all of this on the dangerous rapist murderer illegals scaring away all the good hard workers that would have been on those farms. They can keep their heads in the sand right up to the moment trump cuts them off

9 months ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

I keep seeing this same statement posted, but I've yet to see a source for it

9 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Yeah. While Nebraska *is* having some budgetary challenges, it seems to stem solely from their own actions, not worker-departure.

8 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Because it's fake

8 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Is there a reliable source to this claim? Simple Google searches don't yield any tangible results.

9 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

No, it's literal fake news

8 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Because it's made up rage bait.

9 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Again, as a Nebraskan Democrat.... nobody has provided a source of this 'call' or the 'China' thing. We had a budget deficit due to making too many tax cuts and federal revenue going away. We're not bankrupt, and they've already been working on closing the deficit.

9 months ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 0

Has the changes in traffic pattern on the railroads affected tax revenue any? A large amount of imported goods flow through North Platte and other major railyards in Nebraska. At the very least the workers required to keep them moving would bring revenue to the region.

9 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

That hasn't been the issue. The posted thing has been put up multiple times, even sometimes with a link to a story that only talks about the deficit and literally explains what caused it (and Trump calls and China are not in that story). I'm not arguing about how Trump's stupidity can be having an effect, just false reasoning by clickbait headlines over something that has been an issue for MONTHS.

9 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Let's not get into the fact that Nebraska isn't 'going bankrupt' either.

9 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Oh are soybean exports incredibly important to some farmers in this country? Wait we export the most to who? "Get fucked Nebraska" - Glorious Leader

9 months ago | Likes 129 Dislikes 1

I did not know farmers were such soy boys!

9 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

the largest purchaser was usaid, then china.

9 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Emphasis on 'was', USAID was gutted by the current administration. Not sure they have the budget to buy all them soy beans anymore.

8 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Exact same things happened in the first term

8 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

And during Trump's last term, soybean subsidies were approximately double the expected soybean income between 2018-2020 at ~$12bn versus expected soybean sales of $5.8bn. They voted for Trump for the subsidies... And large corporates that provide fertiliser, use soybeans in food and banks providing farm loans were the ones lobbying for the subsidies

9 months ago | Likes 32 Dislikes 0

Fuck agrarian subsidies, paying rich people so that they don't have to adapt.

9 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Getting exact figures on the cost of soybean subsidies is hard as they were mixed across crop insurance and pricing subsidies - but they were significant as mentioned here: https://www.forbes.com/sites/stuartanderson/2020/01/21/trump-tariff-aid-to-farmers-cost-more-than-us-nuclear-forces/

9 months ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 0

They voted for this admin so they can be openly racist, none of them thought the policies would hurt them.

9 months ago | Likes 58 Dislikes 1

To be fair, most of them still don't. Go to dinner in 90% of republican homes and ask about Trump and you will hear "He's the best thing that ever happened to this country" ... the ignorance of voting for him and the will full blindness isn't going to stop.

9 months ago | Likes 23 Dislikes 0

The praise being fostered on Trump and his policies have more than once had me pausing to consider if *I'm* the one living in an alternate reality. The gaslighting is THAT strong.

9 months ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

It truly is, I have to go and check things that I know are reliable sources, and just have to triple check to make sure I am not the one who is off base.

9 months ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

I'd love some examples of specific topic where you triple checked? Post here. We'll get them to the front page to save democracy!

8 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

I actually an answer here, I was not just being snarky back to you. I checked a few of your other comments/posts and you are not SpaceHaggis or something who is just intentionally a bad person, I am so confused?

8 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Are you mocking me for being gaslit by people who believe in things like Biden redirecting the hurricane to destroy North Carolina towns but refused to believe evidence of man-made climate change, or are you just mocking me for using multiple news sources instead of reading one article and just accepting that?

8 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

"Trickle down" economics doesn't work and never has, this is just another example that it's wishful thinking. Nebraska will have to raise taxes or go bankrupt.

9 months ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

See, Pillen just did big tax cuts to property owners.

9 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The very same thing happened to Kansas when they tried to implement GOP tax policies. Seems like Nebraska is a slow learner. BTW, I own farmland in OR with water rights attached, and not a week goes by but someone calls, texts, or mails an offer to buy it. And half those people calling have a Chinese accent. Bankrupting farmers is just one way for the mega corps to get their hands on the family farm.

9 months ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

The worst part of it is that the penny auctions of the 1930s are no longer possible. Look up how they worked- and know that nowdays real estate auctions are done online. You are bidding against speculators in another country.

9 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Don't have to look 'em up. My dad told me all about them as he lived through the Great Depression which started when he was about 8 years old. My family started farming in Oregon around the end of the Civil War. Plus, I studied history.

The actual news doesn't mention any of this. It's disturbing to see so many on this site not care if things are true or not. That is the defining characteristic of conservatives, it's sad to see it spread to the left

9 months ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 1

"The state is projected to end the next two fiscal years, beginning July 1 and ending June 30, 2027, with a positive balance of $4.15 million, which includes a built-in spending cushion."

Does this mean OP's claim is nonsense, then?

9 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

This site has become a propaganda echo chamber. I still prefer anti-Trump propaganda to pro-Trump propaganda because fuck that guy, but sheesh.

8 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Yeah, it sucks. We can't stoop to their level.

9 months ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Average Imgurian: Republicans are deluded idiots who believe in obviously untrue conspiracy theories!

Also average Imgurian: Trump orchestrated his own fake shooting, and Musk hacked the voting machines (and the opinion polls and all three exit polls) to make Trump win.

It's nuts that I argue more on here with liberals that I see as an embarrassment to the cause than conservatives these days.

9 months ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 1

Please go to a food bank. I don't care how much you make or how guilty you feel. You need food. Feed yourself and your dog.

9 months ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

I do. I've been to all three this month. Things are really picked over now. Everyone is suffering so badly it's sickening. Kids, 90 year old ladies, limpy mentally fucked derps like me. We're doing our best, but man it's hard. Even dumpster diving has gotten competitive. I was at Catholic charities yesterday and they didn't have anything for doggos OR cats. I dunno, this stuff has gotten so bad I can't even imagine what 6 months from now is going to be like

9 months ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

I'm glad to hear that you're trying. There are so many people who think "that's for people worse off than me" but it's for anyone who needs and cannot get food! I know that for my cat food I was shoplifting it from grocery stores for a while because I could not afford it. Not that I'm saying you should because Shoplifting Is Illegal and stuff but shoplifting from corporations taking billions from us in profit every year is not evil.

9 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Gonna be honest, Target has self checkout and for a long time they did not have scales or anything. So I could just.. accidentally drop dog food or a package of lunch meat into the bag. They changed and have scales now so yeah. Also the people working the self checkout are now very.. serious. I did make a post, asking for help, if you know anyone that can donate /gallery/teddy-says-hello-AFW78li

Actually, soybeans are probably going to be really cheap, since the main customers aren’t buying. Now I just need to learn how to make tofu at home!

9 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

If they can harvest them, sure.
If.

8 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

John Deere isn’t going anywhere.

8 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Soybeans need to be harvested at a very specific moisture content. Too wet and they have to be dried before they can be stored, adding to the cost. Green stems also make the combine harvester have to run slower and use more fuel.
Too dry and they shatter, leading to big losses.
So if they can’t get the workers in to harvest multiple fields at once, the soybeans will dry out before they can be harvested and the yields will be far lower.

It's absolutely going to be awful. But. It's going to impact the people who voted for it worse.

It's not that we don't give a fuck. We've been fighting to prevent this very thing for YEARS, for OVER A DECADE. We care so much.

We care. But also? I hope the MAGA cunts die from starvation because of this.

9 months ago | Likes 25 Dislikes 1

This is definitely not true. People want to believe it's true because it FEELS better than to acknowledge there is any nuance. But fight that urge to ease your own guilt and think about it for a second.

Not only will this impact children, but there are MILLIONS AND MILLIONS of blue voters in red states and red areas. People who have been out protesting, who campaigned, who did everything they could to get others to vote and they will suffer too. They will lose too. They will die too.

9 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Dude, this is gonna impact EVERY state incredibly roughly.

But more people voted for Trump, and therefore more Trump voters are gonna suck shit from their vote.

It's not a political impact, it's national. So I'm gonna eat my spite-eios and enjoy red-hat suffering.

8 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0
