I lost my bestfriend 3 years ago.

It was just before Christmas is 1999. My parents had just moved to Austin, when they found a tiny puppy in our yard with a lugnut and duct tape collar. It was obvious she was being trained to fight. They brought her inside and immediately she ran over to me. We named her Harley.

She was my best friend and my protector. We did absolutely everything together. From dancing in the living room to "camping" on the trampoline in my back yard.

She slept with me every night.

Even as I got older, she would still sleep right next to me.

We would play dress up. She'd let me tie bows around her ears and I even paint her nails while she patiently sat on the floor.

Even when I got into high school she was still right by my side.

She was my bestfriend.

I lost her St. Patrick's day 2015. It was the hardest day of my life. She had cancer and couldn't walk. I sat on the floor with her. She fought so hard to stay. Only finally letting go, when I told her it would be okay.

It took 3 years but I finally got a memorial fitting for her. She walked along side me my entire life. It's only fair she stays with me for the rest.
