Want YouTube red?

May 20, 2017 8:19 AM

I don't know the US prices but in AUD Red is $13 a month and Play Music is $11 a month and comes with Red thrown in.

Even if you never use Play Music, if you want Red it'll save you a couple bucks a month.

Youtube red also helps support the youtubers you watch! way more so than any ad could contribute.

i get 12 months "free" spotify premium in my mobile plan, i just change it to the same thing every year and get the bonus.

Not in the UK

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

US pricing is $10/mo either way, and you get both services included, whichever you sign up for.

Oh!

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

I want to be able to get youtube red, I'd love to pay instead of having an ad-based model, but alas it's not for outsiders

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It's called "red tube"

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 1

Lol i use google play music but didn't knew about youtube red lol

8 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

Yeah same, this is news to me

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Play music is my life, if you have no friends like anyone on here Google play is the perfect music service for you.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Google Play Music is $10/month in the US (w/ free Youtube Red), but there was a deal a while back that locked it in at $8/month. I like it

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yo ho ho!

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Or, and follow me here, download the music on the internet for free

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The ads are getting smarter.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Not in the us. Both are $10 and both include the other

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I've had google play for a year now. it's great. and I don't have to watch YouTube commercials ever again.

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 2

I watching you, Microsoft.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Slacker radio - 3.99$/month

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Idk why it gets so much hate, unlimited music, no ads, background play etc

8 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 3

Because you can get it for free if you get the dolphin browser and Adblock which are free apps.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

Youtube ads are getting out of hand.

8 years ago | Likes 204 Dislikes 3

Face book ads now play in the middle of videos. I stopped using it altogether bc it's legitimately almost all ads now.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 2

If you use as block and pandora, it's like having Pandora premium

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

why don't you have an ad block?

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 3

ublock origin is where it's at.

8 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 1

Guys, some people like their subscriptions enough that we want them to be rewarded for their efforts. Doesn't mean the ads don't suck.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Agreed. There are some people I would happily support. Just the number of adds and banners in youtube has increased significantly.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Ad block brother

8 years ago | Likes 58 Dislikes 5

I got google music since I got google home. But, adblock for pc. On mobile, having youtube red has been amazing. Even plays in the backgroun

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Ive never heard of Youtube Red, but i have heard of Redtube

8 years ago | Likes 94 Dislikes 9

Same, same. But different

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I was in a Redtube once when I was 9, it was before Mcdonalds repainted all their closed slides in the play place blue.

8 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

Same.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I was in a Redtube once when i was 12, but it was white, loud as hell and cut my brain into thin slices.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Google play movies cost the same as buying the DVD

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

And google play pays waaaay more to the artist per play

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

First person i've ever seen use AUD on the internet.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Im an Aussie living in Texas. I have to convert back and forth every time I talk to any family member

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Or you could get Apple Music which is cheaper than both

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 2

I know a lot of people might be shitting on YouTube red but from my experience with it I love it and would recommend at least trying it.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 3

I have Google play music instead of Spotify because it gets rid of YT ads. Play music sucks though compared to Spotify.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yeah, it's easier to find at Redtube.com

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I don't hate ads enough to spend money to avoid them. I am thankful some of them are skippable after 5 seconds though

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

But do you like YouTube enough to help pay for its costs of existing?

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Ad block too, havent seen any ads in months.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

I haven't had a laptop since it broke in like 2013 so I watch YouTube pretty much exclusively on my PS4. No adblock on that :/

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

uBlock origin is free.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Illegally downloading all the music you want to hear is far cheaper.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

That's what I do!

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Too bad it doesn't support small artists as much, and streaming is easier than managing downloads.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I buy stuff I like after I download it.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Paying for music? What is this, the 90s?

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

I'd rather stream an entire library of music legally rather than having to store all the music gotten illegitimately.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

What about spotify dude? It's so much better overall!

8 years ago | Likes 63 Dislikes 18

Spotify has an absolute shit shuffle algorithm. I end up hearing like the same 20 songs every time.

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

I like Spotify's playlist a lot more. I did the 3 month trail of Play but went back to Spotify after

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

Watching youtube videos is really hard on Spotify

8 years ago | Likes 22 Dislikes 2

Deezer man, their suggest playlist feature is fucking wicked! Plus, I can't get Spotify here.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Deezer is good. But Deezer is dead. There is a cost for moving all your Playlist and stuff. Not going to make the move to a dying service...

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Why do you prefer Spotify if i may ask? Had it for years but i'll never go back from Play

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 2

Spotify pays content produces less. Also requires Facebook account. So I switched to Play, and it came with Red +1

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 15

Doesn't require Facebook. I don't have a fb account. https://goo.gl/xFsN4Y

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Nice! This wasn't an option 4/5 years ago when I had Spotify.

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

Imo play music has much better radio / recommendations features

8 years ago | Likes 27 Dislikes 2

Spotify is much more network oriented. Tons of djs, artists, radio programmers, independent labels... Share their Playlist on it

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I like those features on Spotify, but after month of use, it's like running in circle. I prefer following other users with wider inputs

Google let's you upload all your music. I use it on a second account I share with my gf. We use the free Google music though

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Spotify has been doing that for years

8 years ago | Likes 23 Dislikes 2

I have many a saved playlist on Spotify for offline mode.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

One reason I use google play is because Spotify on mobile doesnt allow listening to songs that arent on there. Google play allows it though

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

What?? I have 64GO of music that I play with Spotify on my phone...

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

As in, music that spotify doesnt have on their services, stuff like remixes or artists that dont put their music on spotify but other places

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Last time I looked into spotify there was 0 free service for mobile: it was premium or nothing. Couldn't justify it then and as such I've

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 16

no frame of reference to decide whether or not to try it now.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 3

Where I come from it comes in plans with your phone so you kinda have free spotify..?

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The audio quality is really good though!

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Well, all I can say is that I love the software, the very active dev team and the community https://community.spotify.com

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

There's definitely a free tier on mobile, they just have shuffle play

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

In the UK there's a free tier on mobile the serves adds. It limits done functionality but it's critical usable

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

It may well be that way everywhere now; I'm going back years when I talk about last time I looked into it.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I much prefer Google Play. You can stream tunes that are in your library that aren't on the service from any decide which is ace.

You have to download them with spotify, and actually getting them to download from the app can be spotty (eh) at best

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Hmm I got given 6 months free Spotify a year or so ago and it didn't do that then.

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

Yes it did, you just didn't know how to do it, which I don't blame you. I don't think they advertise the feature well.
