Nah man I think they're trash, not worth anything. I mean I would be willing to do you a huge favor and take em off your hands though.

Straight up, I want #5. How much?

10 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

They sell lamps like this for several hundred dollars a pop at Restoration Hardware. I can dig it.

10 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

I'd buy every one of these seventeen times.

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I love weird stuff like this. Would totally buy!

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I'd by one of those sconces.

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

i didnt know i needed this but isure do now

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I'll buy #2 and #6

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Dildo

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I would definitely want one of these

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

@edo3 Omgoodness the black lamp shade is amazing and so beautiful, if I had more money I'd buy it.

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

They would be a good conversation piece, and I really like them.

10 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

How about with them turned on? How's the lighting?

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Your dad seems shady

10 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

I agree with the steam punk inyerest but I think they have a wider appeal. +1 for humbleness and I'd 2 of the last one, please

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Cool lamp, dad.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I honestly would not buy any of these. Sorry OP. But if he enjoys making them, he shouldn't stop.

10 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 2

Hipster would be all over this shit.

10 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 4

Anythings a dildo if you're brave enough.

10 years ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 2

Problem is none of them seem to be working

10 years ago | Likes 24 Dislikes 1

Your father is correct. Exposed bulbs are ugly and the light they provide is too harsh.

10 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 4

So's your mom!

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I find the look appealing, but you're right about the light.

10 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

"An hobby", kinda like an hero

10 years ago | Likes 66 Dislikes 0

I immediately assumed OP was French and read everything in an outrageous accent

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I was shocked to not find more outraged Imgurians. 'An hobby' gave me the heebie jeebies.

10 years ago | Likes 21 Dislikes 0

Dank reference, man

A accent? Just as bad as OP

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

You don't think that was on purpose?

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I would really like to buy one of these

10 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

So would I

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

They look very old school and classy. Definitely a market for that.

10 years ago | Likes 44 Dislikes 1

There's a certain appeal / old-time quality style to them, these are amazing.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The exposed cords are quirky, like a signature. Very nice.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Almost Dwemer like IMO

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Etsy users would light up at the prospect of purchasing these

10 years ago | Likes 185 Dislikes 2

Not everyone on etsy is a stoner, jerk.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Hahahahaha

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I wish to congratulate you for this pun by nailing a medal to your forehead. It made me groan in pain.

10 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

The best puns always do that :p

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

i love lamp.

10 years ago | Likes 98 Dislikes 5

You could love some of those judging by the shape.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I scrolled down to make sure this comment existed. Kinda disappointed that it's not top comment, sorry bro/bro-ess.

10 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

Brick, do you really love the lamp?

10 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

LOOOUUDDDD NOIISSESSSS

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

The first one all I could think was: anything can be a dildo if you're brave enough

10 years ago | Likes 493 Dislikes 4

That first one looks like something Dr. Masters invented.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Samesies

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Enjoy broken glass in your birth/anal canal.

10 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

I was seriously considering it...

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Gonna light up that pussy like the 4th of July.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Ditto

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I thought it for the first two. Something is wrong with me

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Dammit, I was just about to post that :p

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Took the words right out of my head. Nicely done.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I think it could work well enough. Just really gotta be careful not squeezing too hard...

10 years ago | Likes 26 Dislikes 0

One man, one jar

10 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

A lot of blood.

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

A jar squatter if you will.

10 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

and then turn it on...

What happens when you need to replace the light-bulb

10 years ago | Likes 484 Dislikes 6

SOL?

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 3

And how many people do you need for that?

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

It becomes an art piece.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

There are awesome Edison reproductions being made https://www.1000bulbs.com/category/antique-edison-light-bulbs/

10 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

There are many niche incandescent bulb companies.

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

You use your phone as a light source.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Germans are efficient and have no humour

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Ongoing profit!

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

"fuck"

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

you go online or to a store and buy a replacement.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

What do you do now?

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

10 years ago | Likes 134 Dislikes 0

I have no idea what i just watched. but it reminds me of TF2 SFM animations

10 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 0

How does one even find this.....

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

The lamp is cheap but the specialty bulb replacement? That's how they get you

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

No son!!! (Ackward silence) the bulb replaces you!!

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

He didn't make the bulb, you can get them, looks like mostly 'edison bulbs' of different shapes and sizes

10 years ago | Likes 71 Dislikes 1

Seconded. Looks like Edison or decorative bulbs. Most lamp stores have these.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Batteries Plus/Batteries+Bulbs likely carries them as well (if you have one near you)

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

"Fuck Edison, Tesla for life" - Imgurians

10 years ago | Likes 22 Dislikes 2

I tried using Tesla bulbs instead but lighting shot out everywhere, I somehow got free Wi-fi, and my power company started paying ME. 7/10.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Replace the bulb with a small Tesla coil.

10 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

Call Dad

10 years ago | Likes 301 Dislikes 0

10 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 3

Buy a new light bulb and replace it.

10 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 1

I like you

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Cue polish joke about changing a lightbulb

10 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

Nope you call the Germans

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

How many?

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Just one. They are efficient

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I reckon they'd be quite big with the steampunk community

10 years ago | Likes 1659 Dislikes 2

@OP put them on eBay listing and provide link, that will tell you, also share link here : )

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Definitely

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Exactly what I was thinking.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Thats actually what i thought as well when I first saw the images

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Just glue some gears on them at random, market them with sepia photos and give them a vaguely Victorian name and you'd be set.

10 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 6

"The Richard" for the first one. You know why *wink*

10 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

I tip my hat to you, but I don't bow ;)

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Bonus points if they're somehow involved in turning the lamp on and off.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I was thinking that too. Very cool designs.

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

what is steampunk?

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

*coughs* our modern Technological age happening during the victorian era, a theory of what could have/wished happened.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Victorian Gothic fantasy style with a focus on technology, everything is steam powered

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Or fallout fans trying to build their own vault

10 years ago | Likes 224 Dislikes 0

Brother? Is that you?

10 years ago | Likes 31 Dislikes 0

Brotherhood... Of steel

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

BROTHERRRR NOOOOO

10 years ago | Likes 21 Dislikes 0

AAAAHHHHHHH!!!

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

This was my first thought too. Throw some cogs and shit on there, boom. Steampunk.

10 years ago | Likes 54 Dislikes 8

You could use them as Vacuum tube-like-things for Fallout decor

10 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Just glue some gears on it and call it steampunk, that's the trendy fashion nowadays...

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 6

Since nobody seems to get the reference: https://youtu.be/TFCuE5rHbPA

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Please don't do that. - Steampunks

10 years ago | Likes 52 Dislikes 3

This plotline wrecked me, I was laughing so goddamn hard.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Thank you sir. My cringe level was through the roof.

10 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 2

Is "Electropunk" a thing? Like Steampunk but pre-transistor? Like the Fallout games? Should be, if not.

10 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 1

Fallout really isn't any "punk" - that usually requires modern tech reimagined with old tech. Fallout is just the 1950's view of the future.

10 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

I'm not 100% but as far as steampunk fiction goes I think it's common to have an divergent "universe" where steam is still king. 1/2

10 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Fallout's "universe" is also divergent but at a later time. So the reference is apt. 2/2

10 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Yeah, but steampunk (etc) isn't really divergent, as it's just redesigning current tech with things only available at the time.

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Whereas a divergent universe like Fallout is merely taking old tech and evolving it in a different direction. Almost the exact opposite.
