What kinda sauce is that @OP https://youtu.be/-m3TuJk6t04

8 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

real cool, but they are using so many unnecessary layers. I don't think they had a clear plan.

8 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 0

Long gif wasn’t worth sitting through in its entirety

8 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 3

This is so satisfying to watch!

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

I'm not impressed. Am I a bad person?

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

HAIL TO THE KING. HAIL TO THE QUEEN. HAIL TO THE PRINCESS AURORAAAAAA.

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Street artists all over the world go mild.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Could have done this with half the amount of paint and layers... good start thought.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Whoa jeez!

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

He sprays a million times over all the layers, he cpuld save like 70% on paint if he didn't. Also the fire dried the last layer too fast

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

Wow, how does he do that while fending off crazies with flame throwers at the same time?

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

This was just a mess of nonsense, it didn’t tell a story :(

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

WE NEED MORE HAPPY LITTLE TREES, did Bob ross teach him nothing? :L

I know this is an artist doing art, but I still can't shake the feeling he is a bored hairdresser who rides skateboards on the weekend.

I’ll be laughing at your response for another 80 years.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I laughed so hard at this

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Thought we were gonna see dickbutt

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

I was praying for dickbutt as the reveal at the end

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I was kinda dissapointed we didnt

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

It looks cool but didn't itcrack really bad when it got picked up? Left side looks ready to flake off.

8 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

Yeah that didn't look intentional, probably too many layers

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I wondered if that's why there was yellow under the white, to show through the cracks?

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

What's with the sky donut

8 years ago | Likes 41 Dislikes 0

That's no sky donut... It's a space station

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Glad I’m not the only one bothered by that.

8 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 0

Death star? Is it also now a Disney princess?

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

That's what I thought!!!

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I believe it's meant to be a lense flare.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Lens flares dont look like that

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

It seems like there are a lot of unnecessary steps

8 years ago | Likes 474 Dislikes 4

the outside of the princes - started white -> 50 shades of blue -> a moon -> stars -> brown -> white .... could have just left it white...

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Maybe it was like "Oh, I fucked up. Next plan. New picture"

8 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

Having a color layer underneath is a subtle way to tint above layers. I think. Maybe they just did it that way for the video.

8 years ago | Likes 23 Dislikes 0

Also thinking maybe he changed his mind with some of the colors.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

its actually all necessary for the effects he is going for. the vid shows it better.

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Gotta appear to earn the $45 he’s about to charge you.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

8 years ago | Likes 37 Dislikes 0

Exactly! Why did he spray 2 types of blue and a purple only then to spray the whole bit black on the castle?!

8 years ago | Likes 106 Dislikes 0

I'm guessing so when they picked it up at the end to create the crackling effect, that different colours came through.

8 years ago | Likes 21 Dislikes 0

There is a crackling effect?

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That was the longest gif I've ever seen.

8 years ago | Likes 141 Dislikes 5

8 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 0

I just finished watching it - v

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

I actually dozed off for a few seconds.

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Lol yep

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I like the little guy running at the bottom.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I would've honestly preferred him stopping just before putting the Sleeping Beauty outline on

8 years ago | Likes 222 Dislikes 1

I love the design of colorful space, totally agree

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

Disney Spray Paint Skills = Regular Spray Paint Skills with Disney Cutouts

8 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

Same. It was amazing and most of the hard work was ruined by those last few steps.

8 years ago | Likes 45 Dislikes 1

I felt like it gave it a 4d effect and depth

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 2

Are you sure it's 4D and not 3D? Can you measure time in the picture?

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Gonna be that guy, the 4th dimension isn't time ????

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Are you asking if the 4th dimension is time? If so, yes.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yea, whenever i see that cracking look in spray paint the first thing i think is, well they fucked that up and put too many layers down.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

My favorite part was when they lit it on fire. Thrice.

8 years ago | Likes 1352 Dislikes 0

It also the favorite part of any animal shelter visit IMO.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 3

Me too. My username almost relevent.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Thought it was a HowToBasic

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

then you'll love this guy. he's doing a performance rather than painting https://www.youtube.com/user/Porfiriojimenezart

Torching next to the spray cans gets me..

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

fortnight.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Stole the words right out of my mouth.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

"Fire is a paint, right?"

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I counted force

8 years ago | Likes 176 Dislikes 0

How many newtons?

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

3.5

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I counted filth.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

May it be with you.

8 years ago | Likes 35 Dislikes 1

And also with you.

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

If I had to guess I'd say that was to cause the paint to dry in an accelerated manner. The actual painting was not really set on fire.

8 years ago | Likes 35 Dislikes 0

Looked like it gave some cracking effect, too

8 years ago | Likes 26 Dislikes 1

idk if the crack as intended. the fire spray was to dry it faster so you can work on it with the next layer of painting asap.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Yes possibly a side effect of the rapid drying which they then decided looked cool.

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

I like it when the word thrice is used!!!

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Thrice u say?

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It made this post doubly appreciated by me, at least.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Thanks for giving it the once over.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It's really cool. But even after it was done I still don't really understand some of the shapes, layering, or fire.

8 years ago | Likes 932 Dislikes 6

The fire is to set the paint and stop it running AFAIK

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Fire makes it dry almost instantly. Which allows the artist to start his next layer.

8 years ago | Likes 270 Dislikes 1

Except on the last layer, in which he intentionally did it longer to also crack the paint, giving an interesting texture.

8 years ago | Likes 57 Dislikes 0

Yeah at one point I assumed that there would be like a colour inversion that would make everything click but it didn’t...

8 years ago | Likes 24 Dislikes 0

It was heading in an ok direction then just ended up shit. Also, brown, no! Grey! No white! Idfk make it all white! Flames!

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I think some layers are just first tries

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Looks really weird and flakey on the rim too with all the burnt paint. TONS of wasted paint too. He sets up a full canvas shot then sprays

8 years ago | Likes 79 Dislikes 5

He could've just used the outline piece from his princess template to give him a better idea of where color would be unnecessary

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Over it. Like wtf did they even paint that then? Lol

8 years ago | Likes 57 Dislikes 4

I think he was doing that for the cracked paint effect - if underneath was white, cracks wouldn't show up. Hard to make out in the video.

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Yes!

8 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

Why did he spray 2 types of blue and a purple only then to spray the whole bit black on the castle?!

8 years ago | Likes 238 Dislikes 1

I assume due to it being spray paint its to better deepen the black.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

guessing he was changing hs mind. creative process

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Called undertones friend! I doesn't translate well onto that camera but the black actually had a slight blue/purplish tint to it now

8 years ago | Likes 20 Dislikes 1

I had the same thought about the gold and white at the end. I mean, it was neat, I just kept thinking, seems like more work than needed.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

maybe he changed his mind about what he wanted it to look like or something.

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

My thoughts exactly. You cant even see them at the end.

8 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

you can, but not in the gif the quality is too low.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

To make pablurkle

8 years ago | Likes 151 Dislikes 0

I googled that to learn about a new artistic technique before I got it. I actually googled it, darn you.

8 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

8 years ago | Likes 31 Dislikes 0

Why were there orbs in the sky? Why was the moon purple? And what was with the fire?

8 years ago | Likes 148 Dislikes 2

I thought it was the Death Star at first.

8 years ago | Likes 24 Dislikes 2

It wasn't?

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It makes sense to think that.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The color scheme didn't really match that particular princess. And the things inside her silhouette didn't particularly match her story.

8 years ago | Likes 85 Dislikes 1

I thought the same thing. It's like your standard spray paint space painting just with a couple Disney stencils over it

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It’s the Disney castle not her story. Not sure why the artist chose Aurora specifically though..

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I'm pretty sure the Disney castle is Sleeping Beauty's castle, which would make it relevant to her story. Might be misremembering tho

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Also, why the fire? I've never scene spray paint that needed to be lit on fire before. in general spray paint and fire don't mix well.

8 years ago | Likes 21 Dislikes 3

These are usually made on the street for money. Fire dries paint faster meaning more pieces get done, more money you make.

8 years ago | Likes 31 Dislikes 0

I guess the last touch of fire helped develop the crackle in the white paint, but I don't see any in the black...

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Oh, I see, thank you

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

All that being said, still very cool. I enjoyed watching it and I thought it was fun.

8 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 1

Im guessing the fire dried the paint faster.
