My vaccinations were completed in March. I got the Moderna vaccine. Sunday I lost my sense of taste and smell. Very weird sensations. Got tested and just got my results back. Covid positive, but the symptoms couldn't be milder.

Loss of taste and about 50% of smell
A little fatigue
Two days I had a drippy nose

No fever
No headache
No breathing problems
No horrible death
No other symptoms

I will continue to self isolate until I have been symptom-free for 48 hours or I have a negative test.

This is me begging you to get the vaccine if you haven't already done so. It's so very important. I know that there's a lot of different reasons that people aren't getting it right now, and I'm not making light of anybody's concerns. But this year we have lost far too many GOOD people. This world cannot afford to lose anymore.

Please consider what I'm saying. Get yourself vaccinated. Get your family vaccinated. Stay healthy and safe.

I am super bored. If anybody wants to send me an email, it's crwoosley@gmail.com

FP Edit: please either email me with interesting conversation, or send me the things that I'm not supposed to ask for on a front page edit!

Please?

My guy!!

I probably accept the designation. Your guy I am!

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Hi! Fully vaxxed and caught Covid on Tuesday. So bored. :)

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

First I'm sorry you're sick. Second I'm bored too, email me and we will alleviate each other's boredom!

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Same here. Fully vaxxed as of April. Got COVID from a coworker over the weekend Thankfully symptoms are mild, like a bad cold.

4 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I'm really glad that your symptoms are mild. Take it easy rest up feel better

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Vaccines: you might still get sick but you probably won’t DIE!

4 years ago | Likes 121 Dislikes 2

Also, any man that makes so many Doctor strange love posts is automatically my friend

4 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 1

Yeah that's exactly it. It's like having a seat beltman airbag. Harm reduction is the key

4 years ago | Likes 26 Dislikes 1

I like how you put "horrible death" and then "other symptoms". Good show!

4 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Thank you very much. I've lost too many friends to this bull shit. I don't want to lose any more good people

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

My vaxxed labmate just got covid, no symptoms at all. I (also vaxxed) am waiting for my test result now.

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I wish you health

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Thanks! Just got my negative result in and am very relieved!

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Hey congratulations

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

This sounds much less exciting than being intubated.

4 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Believe me when I say that right now I'm feeling less exciting is a really good thing.

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Glad you have mild symptoms. I'm still worried there's hidden long term stuff even if vaxxed, but I really hope there isn't.

4 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

I really don't want to lose my sense of smell or taste tho, and I feel like I have no choice in the matter. This stinks.

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Me too, but I'm pretty happy with where I am right now

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Also, by that I mean long term complications from the disease, COVID-19, not the vaccine. Because someone might try to construe that. IDK

4 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

I think for many people there will be long-term side effects from the disease. But remember harm reduction! The vaccine reduces the harm!

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Got covid, 2 days after 2nd dose. Earlier this month. Some symptoms. Coughing, taste, joint pain. Now recovering. Go get vaccinated

4 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

That's a bummer. 2 days isn't enough time for that 2nd dose to do its work. Hard to avoid covid for a more convenient time though.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I'm glad you're recovering. I hope you feel better soon. If there's anything I may do for you please let me know

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

So glad you're feeling better C!!! ???

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

A my dear, you are a ray of sunshine in a dark and terrifying world.

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Thank you so much dear friend. ??

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

:-)

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Thank you for this, my fully vaccinated adult son just tested positive. I've been super anxious, this helps ease my worries. (A bit)

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

God bless him. If you have any questions about what I'm going through that may ease your concern, email me I'll answer

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

And this is why everyone should be vaccinated. You can still get sick, but it likely won't put you in the hospital. (married to a scientist)

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Harm reduction! It's like having a seat belt and an airbag. It may not prevent you from getting into a car accident, but you live!

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Just read last week that the Delta variant was confirmed to be transmitted by vaxxed people. The vaccine just makes you not die from it. :(

4 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

I mean, it's good that it does that. It also means we're NEVER going to get rid of this disease.

4 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

I really think you're wrong about that.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I hope you're right!

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Not die is a good thing

4 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Damn you had it worse than me with no vaccine

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Did I? And I don't feel like I have it too badly?

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yeah I got it earlier this year. Only had flu symptoms and a fever for 2 days and I was pretty much back to normal besides some fatigue.

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

See I still haven't had a fever yet.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I recently had it & was mild as well. Had a fever for about 24 hours. I haven’t been vaccinated yet tho

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Well I really hope you get an opportunity to get vaccinated.

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Congratulations your vaccine worked!

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Your goddamn right!

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Hopefully you regain your smell/taste soon! FYSA, CDC recommends isolation for 10 days from symptom onset and greater than 72hrs fever free.

4 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Thank you. I appreciate the reminder.

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Typically you would not want to be tested for COVID for around 90 days of being positive as you can test positive for many weeks.

4 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

I recommend masking up. We don't need delta to mutate.

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Admiral banana splitter is now my favorite username on imgur. And that's a really good point you just made

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Would be cool if you do a follow up post. It would be nice to know if there are any long term COVID effects if vaccinated.

4 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I'll be happy to. Would you be kind enough to remind me and a week or so and I'll do one then?

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Sure :)

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Thank you.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Reminder :)

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

As you say! However it will probably have to be after I'm done with hurricane I feel better though

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Getting Pfizer tomorrow. I had Covid in July… it was bad and it’s incredibly scary to be in that place. I’m nervous about getting it 1/2

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

But I never want to feel like death like that ever again- or anyone else I love. Seriously. It’s horrible.

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I'm so sorry you had to go through that but I'm really happy you're getting the vaccine. If you have any questions about it email me.

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I really appreciate that. My husband and I are getting vaccinated on the same day. I’d love to know what to expect-to quell my anxieties.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Why don't you email me and I'll tell you all about it. crwoosley@gmail.com

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I'll tell you what I went through and answer any questions you have.

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Polio was kicked out of statistic with vaccines with 60% efficy. You have fuckn unimaginable luxury of choice! FEW! OVR! 90%! EFF! VACCINES!

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Very well said and an excellent reminder. Thank you.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I hope things turn out best for you! I'm vaxxed (Team Pfizer) but I know people who got the 'rona and people who lost people. Be strong!

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Yes I've lost several people recently

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Thank you for your kind wishes.

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Just got over Covid this past week. Will be getting the 3rd shot booster) in October. Still stand by it.

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Me too!

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Did you know Montreal Jackson? I saw that you made a post about him. He was a friend of mine. I had dinner with him hours before he was kill

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Killed*

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

No I didn’t know him. It was shitty what happened to him. I am a captain in a sheriffs office and hate seeing stuff happen to good people.

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

May God protect you and your deputies.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I had covid in November. I still haven't recovered. Pretty sure I'll never be able to taste/smell properly again. I got vaxxed. I'm scared.

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I have a feeling it'll come back. Midge is awesome. 13/10

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Midge is dead, unfortunately ?

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Oh I'm really sorry to hear that

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It's ok. She was dealt an unfortunate hand. We have since welcomed a new puppy tho, and she is super.

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Pictures please!

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Got moderna #2 yesterday, finally. Sore arm. Felt like I had the flu today. Seemed to peak at around 24 hours. Starting to feel better now.

4 years ago | Likes 79 Dislikes 3

First shot. 1 week later my arm felt like i took a baseball bat to it for about 24 hours. After that nothing. Second woth no issues

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

I'm glad you're doing okay now

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Same here, first shot was just arm pain but the second one put me on my ass about 12 hours afterward. Only lasted about 6ish hours tho!

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I felt crummy the next day after I got my first shot. I'm not going to lie. But it's much better than dying today!

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

The hospitals are overwhelmed here. I probably wouldn't be able to receive care

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Exactly like me and my wife. She got 1degree fever, both felt like we had the flu coming on. Sore arm for me. Get vaxxed people.

4 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

I'm glad it wasn't any worse for you and your wife.

4 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I really think people should get vaccinated. I'm a firm believer in it.

4 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

One of my friends won't do it and I'm terrified that I'm going to lose him and his wife

4 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

The first vaccine made me feel crummy. The second one was like taking water.

4 years ago | Likes 19 Dislikes 0

I had the exact same experience with Pfizer.

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I'm glad you're okay and healthy.

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Same!

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

First I fainted. Second I called into work. Upside? Day off of work!

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Right on!

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Same with my first dose of Moderna. Getting my 2nd on Thursday. Taking Friday off just in case I feel like crap again. It’s worth it though!

4 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I agree with you entirely. And I have a feeling you're not going to have any problems with it at all

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Crossing my fingers that I don’t. And also for a speedy recovery for you!

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Thank you very much for your wishes. I appreciate it. If there is anything that I may do for you please let me know

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That was my plan and it worked well. It wasn’t terrible but I was glad I took the day off.

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Boy me too. I needed a little time to get myself together

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I am double vaxxed but still have anxiety issues. This helps. Thank you!

4 years ago | Likes 37 Dislikes 1

I'm sure you're going to be fine. If you have any questions I'm happy to answer them. If you consider them private you're welcome to email

4 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

Just do all you can and try not to worry. Get vitamin D as well. Stressing can make you sick too :)

4 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

You know the vitamin d thing is really important I tend to have a bit of a vitamin d deficiency. I should have been more diligent taking min

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Same. I had severe social anxiety issues to start with, but COVID kicked that into overdrive. OP has definitely helped quell some fears.

4 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Hey tononic. I understand those issues. If you have any questions about the process, what it was like for me, what I experienced, email me!

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I'm happy to explain anything that may help you feel more comfortable

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

You might have anxiety issues but your T and B cells don't. They're ready to go and crush Corona if you get it.

4 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

I needed to hear this too, thank you.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

There’s definitely going to be a lot of adjusting when it evolves into an endemic virus. We’ve been afraid of it for so long

4 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

You make a very good point. I'm not sure that a lot of people understand what you mean. You may want to elaborate.

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Or, if you like I'll explain it

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Well, it’s a coronavirus so it will keep evolving. It’s not like the measles where it can be eradicated. We just need our bodies to get>>

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

“familiar” with it and it’ll probably just end up being a severe cold. The least risky way to “get familiar” in the meantime is through>

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

vaccination. It will probably take a long time to reach “endemic” status but once it does we’ll need to stop thinking of Covid as something>

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Thank you. I think a lot of people needed to hear that

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Not vaxed due to medical reasons. Had covid positive twice back in Nov/Dec 2020 and July 21. Just fine.

4 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

All that matters to me is that you're healthy and happy.

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Poppy is magnificent!

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Amen to that brother! Hope this thing is eventually kicked.

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Me too. Too many good people are dying

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

To add: I'm glad you're ok and the vax helped keep symptoms low @OP. I hope it's the same for all.

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

All I want is for people that I love to stop dying from this

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Thank you for the kind wishes.

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Everyone's in this together no matter what they believe. Politics aside. Everyone stay safe!

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I don't want to lose any more good people. As you said everyone stay safe

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

quick question, do you more or less know where you possibly acquire covid? store, work?

4 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

I'm sorry I don't. I contacted as many people as I could that I knew I came into regular contact with.

4 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

I've been wearing a mask in public regularly.

4 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

that's what kinda worries me. I got vaxed in march with moderna, I wear a mask and faceshield but idk if thats even enough.

4 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Since you’re vaxxed and you wear a mask, if you ever get it it would probably be super mild. We’ll probably all get it at some point.

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Well it certainly seems to be. Today I feel a little bit sleepier than normal.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I don't know what kind of masks you're wearing, but regular surgical masks aren't very effective in protecting the user. N95 masks are.

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Surgical masks aren't useless though, they're meant to reduce germs spread by the user

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I think it's important that you realize how mild my symptoms are. If it wasn't for the safety of others I wouldn't even stay home from work.

4 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

ok, well. here's for a full recovery in no time.

4 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

I don't feel badly! The vaccines work.

4 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0
