We let our cat sneak out the door, but only when it's pouring out. He only seriously tries a couple times a year because of this.

One of my cats has done so twice. The first time, it was snowing. Months later when she left again, it was pouring hell. She never tried 1/2

Where I live I have a cat door that goes to a closed yard which is big enough for cats to roam hide climb and hunt outside. Cat is happy.

I keep my cat indoors because there are a bunch of hoe-cats with STDs in my area and I don’t want mine getting it too.

Outside cats have a markedly shorter lifespan and are way more likely to be harmed or killed by wild or stray animals...or cars.

Hell no. My 3 never go outside. Much safer indoors and I see people on the neighborhood Facebook page all the time posting their lost pets.

Well indoor cats do tend to live longer. Cats also wreak havoc on local ecosystems because they kill so much.

in some areas wild animals like coyotes are likely to kill your cat. Almost all areas have these dangerous animals called cars.
