I love how he tries to escape all the time but only succeeds when it's pouring rain.

Serves you right, Malcolm!

You really had a perfect timing for the picture, @op. Congratulations ! (and also for your username).

Malcolm is a people name.

Mine refuses to go out past the doorsill, rescued from under the deck as a kitten. Now almost 18 and still equates outside with sick & cold.

I see Malcolm is in the middle (of it).

Is he in the middle?

Khajit has made a mistake

We let our cat sneak out the door, but only when it's pouring out. He only seriously tries a couple times a year because of this.

Take this upvote for also having your cat named Malcolm! ^_^

My husband wouldnt let me name our cat Malcom. So his name is Not Malcom. It stuck! I know I sound crazy out side calling for not malcom

Lol. Mine is nerd-related. Captain Malcolm Reynolds from Firefly.

One of my cats has done so twice. The first time, it was snowing. Months later when she left again, it was pouring hell. She never tried 1/2

Again… Both times she was beating at the front door a couple minutes later.

Malcolm's a slow learner.

"Hooman! You forgot to turn on the sun! Wetness from above displeases me greatly!" -cats in general

Haha, mines a bit of an asshole, she'll go and get covered in rain on her long fur, then come in rubbing against your legs to dry off

Who the fuck downvoted you?

8 years ago | Likes 21 Dislikes 0

3 downvotes? My 3 cats, probably. All seething with tiny fury at my ineptitude.

People literally shoot each other all the damn time. Why is anyone ever surprised people can downvote each other.

Is it too dangerous for him to go outside? Otherwise i wouldnt deny him a chance to go outside. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Where I live I have a cat door that goes to a closed yard which is big enough for cats to roam hide climb and hunt outside. Cat is happy.

I keep my cat indoors because there are a bunch of hoe-cats with STDs in my area and I don’t want mine getting it too.

8 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

Outside cats have a markedly shorter lifespan and are way more likely to be harmed or killed by wild or stray animals...or cars.

Mine stays inside because I’m convinced if he ever made it out he’d be gone. Also, he’s scared of the door and doorbell. I blame Halloween.

In Florida people collect outdoor cats and euthanize them to deal with population

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

He's not fully vaccinated. Even then, we do have some predators.

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Hell no. My 3 never go outside. Much safer indoors and I see people on the neighborhood Facebook page all the time posting their lost pets.

8 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

That's how you get roadkill.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Could have neighbors who don't like cats or dogs running around

8 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 1

Yes it is dangerous- for him and the wildlife he kills!

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Well indoor cats do tend to live longer. Cats also wreak havoc on local ecosystems because they kill so much.

That too ^

in some areas wild animals like coyotes are likely to kill your cat. Almost all areas have these dangerous animals called cars.

And some areas have the additional hazard of cat haters with air guns.
