In 2020, we watched people die who couldn't get a vaccine. In 2021, we're watching people who could've prevented their deaths die.
Nuhlinga
If you are unvaccinated and get Covid, you should be sent to a different waiting room than the others. That room is a 6ft hole in the ground
spitfires2000
She quit again? She already quit yesterday...
JCBalance
Same title, too.
PleaseRespectMyAsshole
I was working IT at a hospital up until last month and I was absolutely astounded by the amount of RNs that denied COVID.
winkyroomba
Good for her. Need to tell the anti-vaccination people to go home and take a couple of Tylenol. Fuck them.
StuckInBetweeen
Every nurse should quit in started like Florida and Texas. Let them face the consequences of their actions. Only treat the vaccinated few.
PerthAussieMike
No matter how dedicated you are, you still have to look out for No. 1, yourself.
ThatWhineInYourEars
Wrong! Number 1 is me!
dadanedude
Exactly! If you don't look out for yourself you can't look out for others.
playingwithknives
First responders & all hospital staff that survived the first round of covid shouldn’t have to live through it again. So much respect
AgentCatherine
I honestly have gotten to the point where I don’t care anymore. Let the crazies die. Maybe the next generation will be smarter or something.
dzrdavis5150
So sorry to hear. There's already a shortage. But good on her for taking care of herself. Hope she gets some talk therapy
Chalybos
Last straws are piling up.

Hard to keep up with the surges with no definite end in sight.
tsunamisue
Can you blame her? The stress is incredible!

I don't. I would have been long fired for unprofessional behavior, i.e. getting stress release by verbally abusing anti-vaxxers.

kojenk
and this time its specifically all of the antivaxx asshole literally spitting vitreol until they die.
CptRobotNinja
I worked a covid unit during the first wave. It was the most grueling experience of my life. I'm not doing it again.
CirB
I don't think we're blaming her, but instead the unvaccinated (especially antivaxxers)
TooFewGuitars
Don't forget the hospitals thatre going out of their way to not make it worth our while at all
DanBranDaMan
Honestly, that speaks more toward the covidiots than the hospitals...
Woolencadavers
Good for her.
bro02tc
That's going to be the common occurrence
Xerxes4242
Soon we will only have travel nurses at hospitals and everyone else will have to take a pay cut to afford them.
YouDumbBastard

Let them die. If they don't trust vaccines why are they in the hospital? Stay home and rid us of your stupidity
PowerfulHamster
My wife is a Doc and today she got her first patient with COVID who denies COVID being real. It’s ridiculous.
darthstormer
Will it help the nurses if we all clap on our porches at 8:00 again? How about an air force or airline fly-over?
BeerandCats
My MIL works in a hospital; the first wave of Covid was tough, things calmed down, but they are spiking again. 1st time was ignorance 1/2
This time it's stupidity; she's not happy, we're not happy, morons committing slow suicide by not getting vaccinated have never been happy
BlendeLabor
Not to mention the PTSD the nurses who worked through the first wave most likely have
lurkandmerk
F all of these selfish pricks choosing not to vaccinate. F them to all hell.

Hospitals should be allowed to forcefully discharge unvaccinated covid patients. There's just no fucking excuse at this point. Let 'em 1/2
2/2 patriotically suffer, gasp, and wheeze out their last tortured breaths confined to their houses with aaalll their fucking "freedoms".
thatsbadmmkay
Nurses are getting no time off working 13hr days.
dcostanza1
And unlike last time they're not doing it to help innocent victims.
t0kenblackguy
13 hours??? I worked two 18 hour shifts last week because there was no one to relive me due to the mass Exodus of nurses
My e.r. currently has 15 open slots and even though we are paying crazy incentives no one will work extra
michaeljardavenport10
Same here in the NHS.
Greyeyes1973
Incentives are bullshit. A one time bribe. And fortunately folks realize it. Quite with the bs and give continuing and better raises
SatanicSpirals
Money only acts as so much of a protective factor against trauma. We need full MH crisis teams rolled out for support, and personally >>
As ex-Red Cross DAT, it kills me not to see the DAT rolling out to provide auxiliary support thru safe shelter and food >>
So med staff don't have to risk infecting their families.
Yeah we're averaging 80 hour weeks because so many people have said fuck it. And it won't be long before the rest do
Ninjainslippers
It's so infuriating that people would rather destroy the medical system than get a free shot and wear a mask.
MsrLapine
Every nurse in the country should've quit the day the pandemic started & refused to go back w/out a 250% pay bump & brand new PPE every day.
It's not just nurses... look at xray techs for instance. They have to go to chest xrays on every one of those patients multiple times a day.
They all definitely should've quit by now.
tcpolecat7
I know the front desk staff (like I am) is getting exhausted from this too. I'm in like a permanent state of stress induced exhaustion....
Respiratory therapists have to see them all every day too
imakeshit
Everyone is overworked, my girlfriend was a psc working the call center and couldn’t do being yelled at for hours on end
YoungHeathen
What does PSC stand for?
Patient services coordinator, all the front desk people.
I am also curious. I was a PCS (Patient Care Specialist) in the medical cannabis field.
Jagerbeast
Just because its on twitter, doesnt mean its true
Scaramucci
Tell that to the people believing covid misinformation instead of the scientific consensus.
Those are the exact people i compare these people to.
soyouwanttobeapirate
correct, but a) it's plausible and b) I've seen it 4 times on imgur, so it must be true
Rofl, your logic is sound, how could we ever prove reposts or tweets arent true? I guess we will never know for certain
starkeclipse
No, but I personally know several fellow nurses who quit because we've been short staffed for over a year now.
I can only imagine working in an ICU with a bunch of unaccounted people struggling with COVID would break any last morale I had in me.
Unvaccinated*
ScrotieWontusis
It's true. I'm a travel nurse who's filling in for ICU nurse vacancies nationwide. This story is happening everywhere.
I've told so many people that they should have gotten the vaccine, just for them to die later or have awful outcomes
dontrike
Because someone quitting a stressful job is so unbelievable?
Because its a tweet its believable?
Tweet: "It rained yesterday" You: "Suckers believing a tweet" Everyone: *Laughs at you*
Ypu said a tweet can't be trusted. I was only stating your dumb ass logic. The reason you think it's stupid is because your logic is stupid
GUMBOSAUCE
This pandemic has made me second guess my choice in going to school for nursing.
djcavindjc
Not sure if you can branch off it.....you know, go the other way, but I'd be doing something else
yall00aint00right
Look into becoming a respiratory therapist. You will have job security for the rest of your life, unfortunately.
This isn’t sarcasm, by the way. I have a friend who is a nurse and we were talking about it.
Jesus fucking christ that is incredibly bleak my guy but you're not even wrong.
There’s going to be a lot of people who will need the help. I want to be wrong, but I don’t think I will be.
