The Oatmeal?

Be kind. Fix those kitties. They are becoming a feral menace, killing many song birds that eat insect pests.

We need to start this trend with humanity.

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Whats kitten season? Cats just decide to get horny in the summer?

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The shelter where I got my cats won't adopt out any animals that aren't spayed or neutered.

5 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

It would be a shitty shelter if it did.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Yes, absolutely, but that is not allowed right now because it is not emergency treatment.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Both my cats are rescues that have been snipped.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Wait. Our cats aren't social distancing

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Spay even if they're 100% indoor. Females are prone to all sorts of reproductive issues and cancers if you don't. Almost lost both of mine.

yeah about once every six months or so

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Because only you can prevent Forrest fires... Or whatever Bob Barker said

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Cats know they can wear condoms, they’re just too cool to.

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Well if we have a meat shortage,,, oh nevermind heh

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Rabbits are better for that anyway, cheaper to feed and faster reproduction.

Jonesy!! Pspsps here, kitty...

5 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Female cats can get pregnant at 4 months old, have up to 11 kittens, & get pregnant again within 8 weeks. Spaying 1 prevents 100s of births.

5 years ago | Likes 214 Dislikes 2

So, precursor tribbles.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Also if you don't, they are super loud and kinda annoying while in heat. Just fix them

5 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

That seems so strange for a predator.

5 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

And getting pregnant that young and often can cause tons of health issues. Want kitties to stay healthy? Spat and neuter.

Check @bottlebabyfosters on Instagram. She's caring for a litter of preemies right now from a kitten mother. The poor things are so-

5 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 0

Premature that they don't even have coats. It's crazy sad.

5 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 0

Assuming x=2e^1.7(years)... 2 cats become almost 10,000 in 5 years and 50 million in 10 years.

Bob Barker knew the dangers we face

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Given infinite resources & shelter, fuck! Odin help us. It's why what @petsncharge does is so important, traping & neutering so many strays.

5 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

We need to start teaching our cats abstinence.

5 years ago | Likes 27 Dislikes 0

Hehe, tabstinence :P But for real, we need to stop dumping unwanted cats, kittens, we need to neuter them all. To stop population explosions

5 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

Try abstaining with an unyielding biochemical drive that changes your behavior entirely and forces you to focus on one thing only.

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Ohhhhh!

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Didn't know that they have a specific name

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Dogs too. I don't want to hear the reasons why your pooch is special and doesn't need it. Do it.

5 years ago | Likes 25 Dislikes 1

Those owners are real Special...?

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Not the same thing. Cats roam and you have no control over where they go or who they see, you don’t have this problem with dogs

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 7

This is ignoring the problems they have even if they are intact and not pregnant, give "pyometra" a google for me

5 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

I never had my dog fixed and the vet never pushed for it. Said it was 50/50 on either side for problems, so I never did it.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 3

if you only have one that never gets loose then shouldnt be much of an issue, but households like mine where i have males and females, its

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

100% necessary so i dont have puppies/kittens, or issues over territory too.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

She's gone now, but she never had any gyna issues because she was unfixed. The downvoters think they know better than my vet!
