Hope he visits Texas soon. In a convertible. By a book depository.

JFC! Time to seize these shit bags. They need to start disappearing, forced vacation, these fascist scum won’t respond to tolerance. But they do know how fear works. Hey Nazis it’s your turn to run & hide!

Police state run by insane person.

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I used to be totally opposed to gun ownership in this country. I still think that civilians shouldn’t have them, but I’ve started to think I should get one for myself with the way shit is going down with these nazis

3 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 2

As long as /they/ have them, /we/ should be equally prepared.

3 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

Straight up fascism.

https://www.vice.com/en/article/jg5q7k/rebekah-jones-viral-claims-about-her-sons-arrest-by-fascist-desantis-dont-match-available-evidence Vice is saying this isn’t exactly all they found, but I don’t trust anyone any more - least of all Florida.

*This* is the correct time to say "if they can come for me, they can come for you".

what the fuck seriously? this is getting out of control

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

What is horrifying is those people who carry out these orders knowing how heinous they are.

Florida and DeSantis are shit for many reasons, but in this case

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The replies attacking her in the Twitter thread make me incredibly angry.

3 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

I don't use Twitter, but I would like to be angry with you if only to understand

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I also do not do the twits. One of the posts here had the link to the Twitter thread.

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Holy fuck

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

DeSantis really is a sicko

3 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Hey gunhugging assholes. THIS Is the tyranny you pretend to want to protect against.

3 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

I don't see where this is a digital threat of terrorism, and feels like a major violation of the 1st Amendment, Free Speech. We have the right to discuss and ridicule our government.

3 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Not in Florida.

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Sounds like a series of high profile constitutional violations.

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

It is, but addressing those takes time and resources, and all the while you still have a kid that's been kidnapped and god knows what else

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yeah I doubt there is sufficient recompense for this sort of thing.

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

For context, for those who aren’t aware or are for forgetful like me, this is the gov employee DeSantis already came after?

3 years ago | Likes 36 Dislikes 0

Hey, remember when we compared their actions to Nazis and all you fuckers said that was hyperbole? Do you fucking remember that?

3 years ago | Likes 599 Dislikes 4

Last August, I reposted this to Imgur: /gallery/0b9UOnw saying, "The Road to Fascism is Lined With People Telling You To Stop Overreacting." https://imgur.com/gallery/0b9UOnw Okay, folks, NOW what do you say . . . ?

3 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Don't forget the people who said that democrats were just a bad.

3 years ago | Likes 33 Dislikes 2

We still see that being argued daily.

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

hello, fucker here, but I didn't say that. I also agreed they were nazis (n left intentionally uncapitalized)

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 8

They're trying to gaslight us into silence. It's fucking fascism 101.

3 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Some people here still say it would be hyperbole. I argue with some most weeks nowadays

3 years ago | Likes 80 Dislikes 1

Fuck all of those POS. There is no middle ground anymore. And that’s purposefully. We’re fully fucked.

3 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

Yeah but I don't think the remaining ones can even say hyperbole, much less spell it

This was Wisconsin over the last 15 years. Thankfully, we've started taking back control, first with the Governor's office, and now with the Supreme Court. Never stop fighting.

3 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

How is this legal? What the fuck?

3 years ago | Likes 35 Dislikes 0

The short answer is that years of voter neglect have led to politicians that wield tremendous influence over largely uninformed voters. Its a big problem that is only going to get worse over time unless people get informed and get involved at the lower levels of government.

3 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 1

It's not. Gerrymandering on the basis of race is highly illegal. But the present SCOTUS won't correct this.

3 years ago | Likes 44 Dislikes 0

That's just it, it's not. But the state superior court won't do shit.

3 years ago | Likes 23 Dislikes 0

And for those of you who want better democracy, check out FairVote and look up STV+ voting systems. Join your local chapter. Many states have ballot initiatives that let you force a public vote on a matter without requiring politicians to vote against their own interests.

3 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

Yeah unfortunately they already outlawed ranked choice in Florida

3 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Ranked choice isn't that great anyway (though it's fine for single positions like governor). However, Florida *does* have voter ballot initiatives! Which means if you want to stick it to Ron DeSantis, you should go check out your local FairVote chapter and work on getting an initiative going today!

3 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

If you are not already, this is likely your last chance to leave Florida before they put a price on your head like Texas has done.

3 years ago | Likes 185 Dislikes 2

I’m a South Carolinian, and I’m keeping an eye on my own state. Lindsey Graham is such a lil bitch that if the fascists take over, he’ll bend over and implement all their laws in a heartbeat.

3 years ago | Likes 34 Dislikes 0

Ex-North Carolinian here; get the fuck out of the south. Fuck the south.

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Bigger moves are harder, but if you can go to your immediate north or south to North Carolina or Georgia you'll find things better in the medium-long term. Short term not much better.

3 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Not North Carolina - they just got a Republican Supermajority in the state. North Carolina and Tennessee are about to be the fascist playground, so if you're anything but a white straight man in those states, chances are good that your rights will be on the chopping block.

3 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

It feels shameful to admit nowadays, but I AM a white straight man. Then again, I’m not rich. So… still sorta screwed, just not as extremely.

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

That's why I was talking medium/long term vs short term. In the short term, yes, NC isn't any better than SC. In the medium term it's way, way, way better. Democrats can and have won statewide there. The statewide defeats have been close. The veto-override majority is by one seat after a dem in a D+23 legislature seat changed parties. Dems need to regain the state supreme court and they can do a lot of good from there. South Carolina there's just no hope for dems whatsoever. It's lost.

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I don't mean this as a threat, but when you mess with people's kids and also feel like they have nothing to lose, bullets start flyng.

3 years ago | Likes 26 Dislikes 0

I think if you live in Florida you're not the one who gets to decide the meaning behind your words and actions, they decide it for you and punish you when they're able to twist it enough to make you look maybe guilty.

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

It's not a threat, it's a fact. This is an extremely stupid game for a fucking state governor's office to start playing.

3 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 0

It won’t stick, but that’s likely not the point. The point is to terrorize her through him so she’ll shut up.

3 years ago | Likes 62 Dislikes 1

Maybe it will radicalize him and turn him into a hero of democracy in 10 or 15 years.

3 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

You say it won't stick but the republicans went to great lengths to secure the judiciary to their cause. The first string to their bow was the January 6th coup. The second will be the compromised courts which will legitimize their next attempt with a rubber stamp of approval.

This is the nurse that showed DeSantis was murdering people using covid, right?

3 years ago | Likes 45 Dislikes 2

Yep. I can't remember exactly what she did, but it was something involving exposing a Florida/Desantis covid coverup(?).

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

She is the statistician that refused to publish false CoViD-19 data at DeSantis' demand. He had her fired. She continued to publish Florida State CoViD-19 data with publicly available information on her own website. DeSantis then had her home raided by S.W.A.T. claiming that she had stolen state owned data. She was acquitted and then ran for Matt Gaetz's congressional seat. She lost to Gaetz. Now DeSantis is pulling this crap on her.

3 years ago | Likes 49 Dislikes 1

Right. Not nurse. But worked in the health field. My bad on that.

3 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Oh fuck me. :(. Thank you for posting this information. I didn't make the connection to her name, although I do remember this story.

If you have 10 people sitting at a table, and 1 of them is a Nazi, you have 10 Nazis sitting at a table. All Republicans are Nazis.

They are americans, own them, stop searching history for an external comparison.

3 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 11

Ok they are fascists who believe they are justified in using violence and force to amass wealth and power and put themselves above the law, so Nazis

3 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 2

Being a fascist isn't 1:1 equal to being a nazi. They are just regular monsters. The kind that has been in control of a lot of US for the last 200+ years.

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 4

DeSantis is worse than Trump. And that's really saying something.

3 years ago | Likes 440 Dislikes 3

DerSantis

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

He's way worse, and the most malicious part of it is he does it relatively silently while loudmouth fuckers like Trump and MTG get the media's attention.

3 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

That's why I don't want Trump to go to prison. I want him to run and lose against DeSantis in the primaries, then run as an independent and take away a quarter of the GOP's base, making sure the Dems win.

3 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

This. Trump v. Biden? Biden will win that. DeSantis v. Biden v. Trump? Biden will *DEFINITELY* win that. Biden v. DeSantis? That's best-case-scenario a 50/50 toss-up.

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I never thought of it in this way before. Very interesting! It just might work! UPVOTE!

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Because he's not an idiot. Trump was a fool, but DeSantis is smart, he won't make the same mistakes Trump did, but he'll do just as much if not more damage.

3 years ago | Likes 65 Dislikes 2

Yes and no. It's because he doesn't care about being liked. He is smarter. But Trump wants at least some people to adore him which tempers his cruelty.

3 years ago | Likes 37 Dislikes 2

The big problem I see with Desantis compared to Trump is less to do with intelligence and more with interest. Trump craves the attention, safety, and status that comes with the presidency, but seems to have little interest with actually governing and passing laws, probably cuz he doesn't really have any ideology beyond self-interest. Desantis has shown himself to be VERY interested in passing his claimed ideology into law and using his power as a blunt weapon against his enemies.

3 years ago | Likes 25 Dislikes 0

He's smarter than Trump. He's still an idiot.

3 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

He went to Yale and Harvard law school he’s. It an idiot. Don’t underestimate him. He’s just a despot.

3 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

...that really doesn't mean anything. People from wealthy families go to nice schools.

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

So did Bush. He's an idiot too.

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

He came from a rich powerful family unlike DeSantis. DeSantis should be hanged, but don’t underestimate him. He is smart.
