Tire Service Van!

Anyone have a good tire??

So many tires that he has to make room to work on mine. =)

All the equipment is onboard to clean, mount/remove and balance!

Check out this beefy inverter in a Tesla service van (Album of van in comments)

Tire balancing!

is that van electric?

I hope he had a jack stand under that car. I've seen a hydraulic floor jack fail before. Good way to lose a foot.

I like Tesla.

9 years ago | Likes 29 Dislikes 3

Poor guy can't even stand up in there

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That is freaking amazing!!!!

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

So OP just whipped his dick out.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

@OP what is your yard planted with??

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Looks like weeds

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Is the van electric?

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Wait.. Americans spell tyre with an i?

9 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 2

ies we do.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Damn colonials!

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

You just reminded me of the 0-60 speed record the Model S P100D set. Thank you for that.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

So T-Mobile?

9 years ago | Likes 56 Dislikes 0

Took me 1 second which made me laugh :)

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Hahahaha! Good, good! Yessss

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Saw this right as I swiped out thought about it for a sec and came back to upvote +1

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Does the service man have his own power source, or does he have to be plugged in?

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Good for you

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Get your van off the sidewalk dickbutt !

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

It is not even handy, if he parked in front of the driveway, the side would be more easily accessible. Grade A douche.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

All that money for a Tesla but your yard looks like shit mate

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Cost?

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Jesus. Meanwhile I paid some dude named Jermaine $29 for a "gently used" tire that I had to pick up from behind his auntie's house.

9 years ago | Likes 207 Dislikes 0

To be fair that was where it was used.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Jermaine had sex with that tire.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yo Jermaine's my boy, he'll hook you up

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I go to this guy names Bobby. 35 buck for a uses tire. 95 percent of the time, that used tire has about over 98 percent tread.

9 years ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 0

Stolen much?

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Are nuts and bolts placed differently on Tesla's than on other cars? Meaning, you can't replace tires on Tesla in just any tire workshop?

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Nah, it's just that the car should be towed to the shop or the tire should be brought to him. Instead, Tesla does both for the customer.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It's a bitch to change a tire on the same rim without machines, plus you'd kinda want to balance it as well.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That's awesome!

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

"I have a Tesla" - OP

9 years ago | Likes 22 Dislikes 3

Tesla Muss was a service technician for the Hindenburg. He is famous for causing multiple fires.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

The more you know...

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

As Tesla used to say, the more you know, the less you explode.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Tbh if I had Tesla I would brag about it too. They are really cool

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Must be nice having money. @OP in real life.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

huh. it really isn't the nsa, fbi, or cia in that van.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

If I bought a $70,000-150,000 car, I'd want great service too

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It's not like the car itself isn't worth that though

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

does the service van has its own power source, or does it have to be plugged in?

9 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

There's some big ass inverters on the wall of the van in the last pic

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Many Mercedes Sprinters are retrofitted with larger alternators/generators, so its likely he just left the 642 diesel engine running.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

They're also designed to have multiple batteries for extra work load. Many sell with two already on boardm

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

< Some type of small efficient diesel motor. Better power delivery via the eletric motor for your bulldozer or car. long range

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

< Surely instant torque, and the micro management & delivery of that power for industrial application would warrant a move from combustion?

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

3< i mean until battery capacity tech is greatly improved

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Are there electric vehicles, plant machinery etc that just uses a combustion motor as a generator to power batteries? Wouldnt that be best?

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Look up diesel-electric transmission. It's used for heavy duty stuff, but for cars the losses are too high and they tend to be rather heavy

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Looks like it could be tire-ing

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

*Sees self out

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I reckon your tires will just get dirty again.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I hate how the government won't let them start their own dealerships.

9 years ago | Likes 111 Dislikes 9

A Tesla would be nice on day if they stop getting blocked

9 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

We got at least one in Sweden. It's inside a mall in one place so I'm not sure how sellable the cars inside are.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

In super dangerous, criminal Malmö to that. Tesla - living on the edge!

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That's a showroom. They are not allowed to sell on location only have showrooms. Not sure about Sweden.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

What? How can they do this? This seems to be pretty random. What's the reasoning behind it?

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Mainly local legislative gets lobbied by local car dealerships. Local lobbies have can easily put more pressure than an outside company.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

They are only looking out for our best interests... /s

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Obama did cash for clunkers but wouldn't let Tesla into the market. Gave Solyndra half a billion dollars, but wouldn't open the car market..

9 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 1

Not Obama; the states. And Tesla did get started with government backed loans in 2010z

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

sick

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

As a mercedes tech, i applaud their decision to use a sprinter as their service vehicle.

9 years ago | Likes 550 Dislikes 1

give it a few months, they will switch to ford transit like everyone else

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Noo dude, it's a Dodge!

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Not since 2010. Dodge lost sprinter in 2009. Besides it was always a mercedes, dodge was just allowed to badge it.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

So you know they drive like absolute lunatics

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

As someone who works in trade supplies, I applaud their decision to use a sprinter. Sprinter van master race.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Specifically a 906 3500 longbody.

9 years ago | Likes 93 Dislikes 0

Neeeeeerrd!

9 years ago | Likes 32 Dislikes 1

With a 642 diesel engine, v6 turbo. Adblue nitrogen reduction system, and a whole suite of traction systems that make tipping a non issue.

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

I mean, Tesla is partially owned by Daimler AG

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I've driven those, very very nice.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

As a 906 owner, I concur.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Daimler owns 10% of Tesla, keep it in the family...

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

No, they were clever and sold it. And so did Toyota.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I wonder if their blinker lamps break every other week, too, like mine do. Thanks, Merc engineers.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

As someone who used to support sprintertekinfo (cvtek now) and all the engineering services applications . I upvote .

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I've been looking at various delivery vans for delivering my products within cities. Sell me on the Sprinter in 140 characters or less.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

2 words - cross wind.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Buy one. Or don't. I'm a comment, not a cop.

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

+1 for Simpsons reference

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Powerful engines that will get you there quick, built like a brick house, more reliable than any other van on the road. Plus the head room!

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Is she mighty mighty? Lettin' it all hang out?

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yeah, she's the one, the only one, built like an amazon, yeah. Shake it down, shake it down, shake it down now...

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Great when under warranty, fucked when it's not.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

On the german autobahn, you need to check your rear mirror for fast approaching sports cars and these vans.

9 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

It's very expensive.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It will never give you up, let you down, run around, or hurt you.

9 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 0

I see what you did there.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I believe real use case for city deliveries (150km/day, 50 places) 13l/100km and 10l/100km on highway 100km/h. Sprinter 316

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It will deliver.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Free... candy

9 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

better make your money while you can, Tesla seem to get off on vertical integration. The tesla service van with optional range extender /

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

coming soon to a tesla showroom near you

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

What makes you think it isn't the dodge version?

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Even if it is, there's virtually no difference.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

So are we talking chrysler or mercedes levels of reliability? Either way i'm out.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Tesla don't fuck around.

9 years ago | Likes 36 Dislikes 0

I'm a tow truck driver. I'm not allowed to touch Teslas without a flat bed and a training course, and they have a hot line for instructions.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I drive Teslas from time to time in my job. They're pretty sweet.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Neither does Mercedes. Good pairing.

9 years ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 0

So are you two gonna make out or what?

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

IIRC Tesla is selling Mercedes electric power trains

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I believe they've worked together in both directions of sharing technology.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I wonder what the range on a Tesla van would be.

9 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

Dunno... We'll see when they make one. But that thing is a diesel.

9 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

Mmm, more room for batteries in there... you get the weight/fuel weight issue, mind... can do quite a few panels on roof...dunno...

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

6. Feet.

9 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

not in 2045 when they make their first van

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

7. feet.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

If I had 100 extra grand laying around I'd be living in one right now

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Aren't sprinters like 30k? Unless you mean living in a tesla

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Converted into a camper van

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

i still think you could do it for less than 100k. Probably budget built it for under 50k easily.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Idk 70k to convert seem like a ton. You can furnish a few houses with that.
