I didn't think he would be gone so quickly. I've accepted that it happened, but it still hurts so much.

Anyways. This'll probably get downvoted, but I don't care. I just wanted to vent a little.

Don't be sad, About your dad. Just be glad, About the time you had.

My aunt died yesterday relatively young. It was painful to watch and still hurts. I am truly sorry for your loss.

I am terrified of the day my dad is gone. May your dad be making tons of lame jokes, while grilling and drinking beer on the other side. RiP

Lost both of my parents in the last four years. Keep your head up @op. You are stronger than you think you are; he knows you are.

Thank you so much. I know that he still loves me as well.

If you're the one who has to tidy up things I advise keeping a copy of everything in a binder. Pay the taxes first, file the final year.

My deepest condolences. You're with me now in that special club, one whose membership cost is too high.

Lost my dad a few months back, it's something I would never wish on anyone. Keep strong. Storms always pass

I'm very sorry for your loss. I lost my father one year ago today due to an, always unexpected, pulmonary embolism. I know it hurts.

Some love from France

My mother lived in France for a couple of years, and she had only good things to say about you guys. Thank you.

I am so sorry. Lost my Dad in 2008. Still feel effects. Just try to make him proud with that you do in the future, you will feel his touch

As a dad we do that because we care and want you to make good choices, not the knuckleheaded ones we did.

Lost my dad suddenly in '95. Still hurts like it happened yesterday.

Had to go through losing my mother as well, never mind that my dad wasn't in the picture most of my life. I know how you feel

I'm so sorry for your loss. Are you doing okay?

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

As good as I can be I guess. Still go through a little bit of depression here and there but otherwise I manage. How about yourself, OP?

Lost my mom unexpectedly in 2005. You never stop missing them, but you slowly get used to them being gone and it gets easier. If anyone --

--tells you to 'get over it already' though, you can tell them to fuck right off. There's no formula for when you should become okay again,-

-and you're never really 'over it'. For me the pain comes in waves, but the waves are less frequent and a lot smaller now.

Hey if you need to talk hit me up. I went through the same. I had to give my dad CPR for 30mins to have him die in my arms. Life gets better

I am so sorry you had to go through that. As a daughter, a retired RN, and someone who has loved, that must have been horrible. I love you.
