If this is true, then I’m due a few $100:)

I heard this.

Is this the thing where the joystick stops working? I replaced mine a few months ago. I’m not too bothered by it, tech breaks
Nihelus
This is an extremely widespread problem that hasn’t gotten a lot of reporting because they’re controller defects rather than system defects.
Yea, I'm assuming so. I personally don't own a Switch, so..
AttorneyAtBirdLaw
Yeah but this was a systemic defect, not just tech breaking.
Oh shit. Well, if they’re going to charge as much as they do for those things they’d better fix it right then
AGiantSlor
Repairs for what? I have 2 pair since xmas and don't see anything wrong with them.
Then yours don’t need to be repaired...

It's because of the joystick drift
viludium
Pardon my idiocy, but what excatly does joystick drift mean?
Pretty much your playing a game and your character or the camera is moving but you aren't touching the joysticks
I've had that happen often in mario kart 8, but not on any other games. That's a bit odd if i do say so myself.
Mario Kart 8 has tilt controls, they might be on which is why you experience that only in Mario Kart 8
