I was not expecting to cry for several hours earlier, but I did.

It's a weird feeling to have hope after not having it for for years

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

As a fellow Canadian same here. I know countless people that refused to even transit through your airports because of trump.

5 years ago | Likes 22 Dislikes 0

To be honest, the border's been squirrelly all over since 9/11, and didn't even get much better under obama

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

And we don't even blame them. Thanks again.

We cancelled our Disney/Universal trips.

For the first time in my life it felt like my vote counted. I watched the whole inauguration and cried several times. Hoping for real change

Had the same reaction as an American. Started crying when GaGa was singing and it took a while to stop. The relief of no more Trump!

I want to go to Canada again. I loved camping up in Algonquin. Hopefully we can get this plague under control soon.

As soon as Trump was elected, even the border guards turned ugly. Hoping to get back soon.

Soon hopefully. We love yall up there

v as an American, it may have taken us a while but

I only have one last question about Trump: Where is he and why do I not see pictures of him in handcuffs yet?

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Pretty sure he's in Florida but I have a feeling prosecutors are chomping at the bit to get started, I am no lawyer though

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I mean, did they have to wait until now before even starting investigations? I figured they'd be off to the races at 12:01pm.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

he was untouchable until now. presidents usually have the class to resign when accused of stuff this big. he didn't

I was okay until the national anthem then came the sobfest.

Amazing Grace did it for me. The poet laureate and pastor sealed the deal.

yeah, Lady Gaga killed it!

This is a good metaphor. Everything's still on fire and there are lots of vile enemies around, but hopefully things will improve from here.

Metaphor for an American Eagle swooping down to take everyone to a better place?

We want to come see you too!!! I'm looking forward to some ? Trudeau/Biden memes and also rescheduling my trip to Montreal

5 years ago | Likes 188 Dislikes 0

Montreal Jazz Fest is an amazing time to visit.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

We will welcome you with open arms! And poutine!

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

When on your trip do you have a visit to St. Viateur scheduled? As a Montrealer living in the States I need vicarious bagel thoughts.

5 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

And now I'm hungry https://www.stviateurbagel.com/en/bagels

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

St. Viateur is the best. Fairmount can suck an egg.

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

When I was last there the queue was completely insane so we skipped it but it's definitely on the list.... Any tips on when to go?

5 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

How? They’ve got like 5 locations.

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Hold up! Is Montreal a good place for bagels?? I should never have quit French classes.

5 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Montreal bagels are amazing and IMO unparalleled. You don't need fluent French to visit—it's very bilingual—but learn enough to read signs.

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

You get all my upvotes. They are one of the things I miss the most about that city.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Last time I was there I got a lot of dirty looks for speaking English only...and no bagels.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It's an ugly bit of politics and linguistic chauvinism, speaking as an anglophone myself. Should you visit again, definitely try the bagels.
