He’s holding my bass teacher’s bass!

I am so happy this got so many upvotes without having to explain how cool this is!

Victor Wooten is an amazing bass player, but as a bass player myself I can honestly say that I don't like his style of playing at all.

That's Victor Wooten. Great player. Does he still do the bass/nature camp?

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Damn not nearly enough comments saying, "Homy Shit, that's Victor Wooten.

I just learned about this guy in my music appreciation class!

Here's an unpopular opinion, I really don't like the way his playing sounds.

I lack all understanding of significance.

What do you call a bassist with an IQ of 130? An 8 person ensemble.

Your teacher is...Victor Wooten???

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 2

Victor Wooten is holding his teacher's bass.

I saw flecktones Sep 1991, the day Miles Davis died. Every member did a solo piece "For Miles". Seeing Vic play makes you doubt your senses.

8 years ago | Likes 19 Dislikes 1

Damn. I saw them around 2000. That must have been ridiculous.

Saw the flektones just a couple months ago!

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

They came to my campus last year. I love Victor and knew nothing about Bela and the Flecktones. It was such a great experience!

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Which campus? I worked in a performing arts center on a college campus and we had him about a year ago.

That's Victor Wooten, one of THE best bassists living today. The guy's insanely skilled.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Will check em out

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

As a bassist he is one of my biggest inspirations. I got to meet him and the rest of the flecktones and ask questions it was great.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Is that Vic fucking Wooten? He's your teacher????

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

NVM... just re-read your post. Just got excited for a second, there.

He did a show at my venue and a clinic at a local music shop that afternoon. Got to drive him around. Chill dude

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

What is Berklee? Who is the guy holding the bass? So confused! Good for everyone involved, I guess!

I was just sharing some of his wisdom on learning and music as a language to some of my outdoor/wilderness/naturalist students today.

I appreciate the technique and skill required to play this, but there are songs and styles that just don't sound good in groove...

I mean... lots of good bassists in tech death or prog metal.. not sure what the point of that was

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 6

This is a pretty bad representation of his skill. That being said, I think Led is the best bass player of all time.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

And by Led, I mean Les (Claypool), of course.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Didn't like it at all.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 2

one of my very favorite people on this planet and one of the best non-classical instrumentalists in history.

8 years ago | Likes 138 Dislikes 2

I did community theater with his family for a long time without knowing how famous he was.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

He's playing in Chicago on the 5th. :D

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

Met him in NYC; as great a person as he is a musician.

8 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

Met him too. Amazingly humble

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Yeah, well the Princess Bride was one of the worst movies off all time! Upvote that! :) (just kidding) (we meet again!)
