Jedi Temple Guardian

Inspiration

Got the idea after rewatching some of the later Rebels episodes, that it might be a good idea to paint my HEMA fencing mask after the Temple Guardian masks.

Starting

Need to protect the parts that don't need to be painted. Me and a friend went home to his parents to be able to have space and air to paint our masks.

Base coat

Coated the masks first before applying the first actual layer of paint.

First layer

Mine in white, friends' in red.

Pattern

Painted the pattern on a paper first, and then applied it to the mesh of the mask, under a layer of masking tape to be cut out and applying the pretty gold. :3

Filling in the pattern

Got the shape out pretty okay, to better be able to follow it with a scalpel.

Pretty gold

Sprayed on the gold coloring.

Finished!

Just added the eye slots and tried to fill out some parts where the color blobbed out somewhat. Quite happy with the end result, although the mask had to be squashed a bit vertically to make up for the shape of the fencing mask versus the actual Temple Guardian mask.
