Abe

Its like Silence of the Lambs with a robot.

Creepiness Rating - 10/10

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3xovQcEOdg8

Infiltrator

Created to demonstrate the power of the Unreal 4 game engine, Infiltrator is nonetheless very well done with great action and spot on rendering.

Badassery - 9/10

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-bLOi3mo9NE

Runaway

Notable for a single vehicle design, runaway is short but entertaining, even with French subtitles.

Vagina Puntery - 5/10

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OkwTHTls0MU

Amp

You will enjoy amp if you were a fan of "Dog" from Half-Life 2, and even if you don't know who that is. Although the dialogue came off as corny in a lot of parts to me, the film's robotic namesake is cool enough for me to forgive it.

Cooch Uppercutery - 7/10

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QKfLOBfRbaU

Kara

Another one that was intended to showcase new video game technology, Kara is still intensely emotional, not surprising as it was made by the creators of Heavy Rain.

Feels Rating - 9/10

SEED

A man is stranded in a hostile environment. The premise may sound cliché, but there is enough of a twist to make it worth watching.

Feels Rating - 7/10

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fhPGJN1IqK4

R'Ha

R'Ha is about a robot interrogating/torturing a captive alien. There are no humans, yet it is still easy to feel sorry for the prisoner and his plight. Also, this entire film was created by one man, very impressive.

Badassery Rating - 7/10
Cutting Onions - 6/10

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xQuGpW0NuW8

The Gift

The Gift is about a snooty Russian robot-butler, and an unidentified box. Very cool short with a half-life-esque feel to it.

Badassery Rating - 6/10

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5eIMafROjyo

Azureus Rising

Much like Infiltrator, Azureus Rising leaves out plot, but makes up for it with awesome combat and design.

Kick Dickery - 10/10

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=agk2svo7svI

Sintel

Its not science fiction, but I fantasy is just as good. Holy shit balls, watch this.

Kick Dickery Rating - 9/10
Feels Rating - 12/10

Abe was honestly a bit disappointing to me. Neat idea and good effects but not much more.

That last image doesn't fool anyone on mobile

10 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

Nor on PC? I did have to load an extra image, and saw it load plus it's slightly different position.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Oh, fuck you

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Huh, cool

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

The gift made no fucking sense, infiltrator was cool

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

It was one of those fixed-dialog contests, used as the example video, but ended up better than all the actual submissions.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I haven't seen all of these but those I have are all "Look pretty, no thinking required" puffs. Bland, predictable, im14andthisisdeep stuff.

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 4

Well, a lot of them are CGI VFX demos that show the skill of the studio/individual, so they're kinda meant to be superficial.

I keep favoriting these lists but never go back to them. If only there was a way to organize them... into file receptacles of some sort...

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Bookmarks. You want browser bookmarks. I do the same thing though with favoriting stuff I can never find again in my mass of favorites

Oh good, "Load remaining 1 image" fuckery. How fresh and novel.

10 years ago | Likes 400 Dislikes 9

thats because this whole post is a repost from a long time ago

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

First time I've seen it, and I still hate it. Conflicted on whether to upvote for content or downvote for messing with us.

10 years ago | Likes 58 Dislikes 1

This is a word to word repost, except for that 'load remaining 1 image' difference.

10 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 0

It's pretty hit or miss. For me in this case definitely the latter.

10 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 1

"Ha!" - mobile users, probably.

Yup

Made my girlfriend cry for at least twenty minutes.

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I think that video broke many of its viewers. God damn it...

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I saw the Kara one around the time it came out, forgot about it, heard about Ex Machina, and thought the two were related.

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

they're not, however Quantic Dream is making a game with that concept called Detroit

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Don't worry, Ex Machina beats anything that David Cage writes and directs

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

No, you just like want to say that because you think it makes you seem smarter for doing so when you actually don't know what you're saying

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 2

Oh no an opinion.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Yeah, and mine is yours sucks because I do not believe it to be your own, but what you think you should think out of popularity.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

I played all of Heavy Rain. I watched all of BEYOND: Two Souls. Amazing premises, terrible executions, in my opinion.

#3 - Not to be confused with the Runaway where Tom Selleck hunted Gene Simmons and his robot spiders

a little extra about the KAra tech demo, its being produced into a full fledged game called Detroit. So far its looking amazing

10 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 1

Do we have any details on the game? I remember that it's about androids from the trailer.

10 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

As far as I know, that's about it. Androids ate gaining consciousness and wanting more than a life of servitude, so maybe robot rebellion?

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Sounds cool. Hopefully it's on PC.

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

PS4 exclusive confirmed on their site ;_;

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

yeah, i believe Quantic Dream is a Sony affiliated dev

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It won't be. Quantic Dream develops exclusively for Sony consoles.

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

At least, as of Heavy Rain.
