Me and watercolors have never gotten along, like ever. Last time I really seriously tried messing around was back in freshman year of college, and that was like 2011. About a week ago my manager wanted me to a Halloween card to pin up with the rest of the co-workers cards (I work at an art store, it's pretty legit), but I was feeling lazy, so I figured I could get it done faster and sloppier using watercolor. I ended up with this at the end of the day and really liked it, as did everyone else. And so, I embarked on a new quest into enemy territory.
This was the next piece I ended up doing. I really like blending the different colors. I tried throwing in some marker here like I did in 2011. It's kind of a style I found on accident a long time ago, and I've just been rolling with it since.
And another. This time doing a little more ink work on this one and playing with blending numerous different colors and seeing how much control I could get.
I did this one today. I'm not sure what I was thinking about when I came up with the idea of a 'brain-balloon,' but here we are. I framed this one up and it actually looks really nice.
Success? We'll see. But so far I'm having a lot of fun.

These are amazing! I can't even use regular colours, let alone watercolour.

Thanks. Yea I hardly use color like this myself, usually I'm all pencil and ink. It's kind of hard, but at the same time... not.
