I stopped buying from EA really long ago, IMO this outcry and bashing is long overdue. It's only a thing now because it has affected the SW franchise...
It's very well deserved and this abuse of chopping up games has to stop, I hope people will seriously boycott EA this time, because I'd like to see them change back to a decent company that they used to be long ago...

It's been the same two posts on this site for the last few days. "EA is garbage" -- "We know". Okay, I get it. Please stop.

I buy EA games still! only second hand though, that way the local store gets the money and EA don't!

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

There's a reason EA has been voted worst company several times.

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

...in a galaxy far, far away?

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It's like the sexual assault cases though...at least it's finally coming out publically?

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

the more people know about their bullshit, the less people will buy.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Congratulations, you're the eight millionth person to say so

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

EA merely crossed the line that no other developer has yet been willing to cross. But they've all been skirting right up to it up until now

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Missed your shot "that they used to be a long time ago... In a galaxy far far away. .

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I stopped buying EA games years ago. Shit, I'm still playing NFL 2K5. Best football game ever!!!

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

it really was

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Don't forget they fucked over Disney here too

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It's what they get for fucking over Marvel vs. Capcom.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Peach!

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Nectarine!!

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

It sucks seeing what they've become nowadays. I'm sure some people remember EA Sports "BIG", and their lineup. Some of those games used 1/3

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

to be pretty good. Honestly, I feel like this horrible change in EA came along around the time Online Gaming for consoles became a more 2/3

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

commonplace thing with Xbox Live, and Playstation Network. I've not bought anything from them in years. 3/3

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I haven't bought an ea game since 2008, I checked

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

More or less the same as me. I don't remember buying EA for about a decade and when it started it wasn't nearly as bad

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The only EA game I will buy anymore is Madden, there's no paywalls or extras that have to be bought, it's still a really solid game

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Let's hope they don't screw that one :)

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

So, basically, "I was hating EA BEFORE it was cool."

8 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 4

Gonna give your mental gymnastics to get to that line of thinking a 7.8

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

No, that's NOT the point, is about cutting BS at the roots because it's much harder to deal with later. And that I hope it will work now

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Didn’t preorder after trying to give andromeda the benefit of the doubt. Glad I didn’t.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

EA was never good to players. They release broken games and leave it up to players to fix. Move on to dlc and next project.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I'm amazed the zeitgeist isn't being wiser about this. This is Electronic "No Such Thing as Bad Publicity" Arts, remember?

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I haven't bought from EA in forever. I really wanted to buy SWB2, it looked really fun. But with the controversy I think I'll just enjoy 1/2

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

2/2 the original Battlefront 2 instead. (btw, I hate that I have to call it that now...)

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Your beloved Star Wars franchise is now designed by committee to maximize profits for the Disney overlords. Nothing else.

8 years ago | Likes 48 Dislikes 8

In other news, experts claim that most people make things in exchange for money. More at 11.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 4

And they will take every last dollar from you that they think they can squeeze out of your wallets.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

and honestly, I'm becoming numb to all the prod being shoved in my face. Wait for the outcry of "Disney is ruining Star Wars"

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Now? AHAHAHAHA

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Most people think it's a fun gam.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Good thing tho, idgaf about star wars (especially games)... So I'm literally just grabbing popcorn and watching the internet freak out

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 9

I'm not buying a game or watching a movie just because it says Star Wars. It had better be good or I'm not wasting my money.

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Exactly!

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Problem is like 2 out of every 3 games are actually really fun and well made

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

Yeah but there are so many games out these days that there are plenty of other good options from companies with better business practices.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I agree with you. Besides the loot crates, battle front 2 seems really well made and fun.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

It’s a fun game to play, I wish there was a better system than loot crates to fund dlc but hey thems the breaks. Fun game though.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Believe me EA does not need a piggy bank to develop a DLC... Most DLCs

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

How would you know that? Its not like you work for them.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

They get yearly loads of money from sports games which is why they buy off companies. And buying companies is pricier than making a DLC

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

2- already exist when the game is made, they just chop it off & after some polishing they sell it to you like it's new

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

The problem is, EA has the official sports licenses. That's largely unbreakable as a revenue stream.

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 2

They did get to a point a couple years back that they only sold FIFA and other sports games. Which is where they barely belong

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

But those generated enough money to buy other studios, gut their properties, shove their reanimated corpses out the door, and fire them all.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

2> as FIFA themselves will keep swimming in money although they are corrupt as fuck... Because there's no stopping sports bizzes

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Basically, yeah, I don't understand people who buy FIFA games anyways, but yeah that shit generates money like cassinos as does FIFA and >>

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Stop pre ordering games.....

8 years ago | Likes 116 Dislikes 8

Yeah only time I pre order is if I want a collectors edition, like Halo 3 legendary edition, or red alert 3 collector tins(grew up on C&C)

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

It used to make sense when you could only get physical copies and they'd sell out. But with digital copies, makes no sense at all.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

But I want a physical copy.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Been wondering this myself

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Indeed. You have no idea what they will be like before launch

8 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 4

Only if you're incredibly stupid.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Well except for the 2 betas and the trials.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Not even that necessarily. Just stop buying games from companys that repeatedly screw gamers until they fix the problem.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Nothing wrong with pre ordering if it's from a company that's only given you positive experiences over the years.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Nintendo and Valve are two big names that I still 100% trust. EA and Ubisoft are two that I don't bother with anymore.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

theres still no point tho. If a game is digital buy it at / after launch, it's not going to run out like physical games used to.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

The only argument for that I would accept is preloading, and thats kind of a minor thing.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

I pre orderd so i could have more time in the beta then just cancelled it, dont get why everyone dosent just do that.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 7

I just told ea i lost my beta code and they gave me one without any propf of purchase

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Similar to what i did for the ea access, i just lied and said that i had a bug they gave me 20 hours without even asking for proof lol

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Guess they had too much faith in the microtransactions

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Lol its like a crack dealer giving you a rock for free on your first time. Just tryna get me hooked bastards.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Because some people want the game?

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

People should BE PAID for beta testing, they should not be paying for access to an unfinished product

8 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 3

I didn't pay anything it was a free beta and dont be ridiculous how are they going to pay enough people todo proper stress testing?

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Stress testing can easily be automated, especially today, with cloud computing being easily accessible

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

They don't need people for stress testing. They do open betas to build hype, by using you

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Its a free chance to try the game before you buy it i dont know what more you want.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Why? Because that used to be the standard? That iant a fair way to judge. If people are willing to pay why is it the companies fault? Same

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Thing with the microtransaction stuff. If people are willing to pay, the company has every right to charge market value. Its just now that

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

the market might start saying that they arent willing to pay, so the company will have to change their practices. Its a free marjet, and

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

You make a good point here. I really think that the games industry really need to look hard at itself and realize that people will buy and

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Support a game company if they deliver see t products with no shady business shit involved. I'm so sick of how this model is in EVERYTHING

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I understand cosmetics is one thing but having lootboxes now is becoming just a staple in shady model. I grow weary of being treated

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Like im not a customer anymore. I'm just a giant fucking wallet to blow more money on a game that doesn't even support it's own life cycle.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

There are a lot of young kids that will be getting that shit for Christmas and since they have no life will spend all their money on it >>

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

They are a BIG portion of the consumer base and a big part of why they do these shady things in games are kids w poor impulse control

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

remember if EA made good games the would have shut themselves down already...

8 years ago | Likes 323 Dislikes 3

their games are actually good, they just divide the game up into little pieces you have to buy sepeare.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Lol

8 years ago | Likes 22 Dislikes 0

* sorry I mean CFO* is probably a psychopath of sorts

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

It's capitalism fault really. I mean how thinly veiled does it have to be. Capitalism - easiest way to make most money =wining

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

true-ish but the correct solution for this problem is also capitalism: people take their money elsewhere and support better games instead.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Problem boils down to profits now vs loyalty later. Lot of businesses are doing a lot of shady shit in order to boost their profit margin

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

year after year even at the cost of customer loyalty later because they're fighting for perceived growth in the short term rather than

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

steady, reliable growth long term. It's along the lines of "this may fuck someone over someday, but I won't be around to have to worry."

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Well I believe they could have found a way to save their company without having butchered their games THAT much EA had more than 1 economic>

8 years ago | Likes 19 Dislikes 3

Hes not talking economics, EA has a history of buying actual good studios only to lay off employees and shut the studio down

8 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 0

Idk why they don't/didn't profit from it instead... But maybe that branch would get too strong and the main EA folks would be depreciated

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

>>problem, a few years ago their games were targeted at a mostly very young public which is bad economic planning. Now their FCO is a PSYCHO

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 2

Assumptions about their boss mental health just sounds completely off topic though. Also everyone knows EA has been shit for a while 1/2

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

2 which is totally unethical. They KNOW damn well a lot of their consumers are young kids, that's pretty fuckedup IMO especially in a tittle

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

This time they just stepped way out of line and it has been brought a lot of attention. This is the definition of a shitpost. 2/2

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

As far as assumptions go you know CEOS have high rates of psychopath traits. And this type of gambling loot is literally letting kids gamble

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

My point is that it's completely irrelevant as the path of the game is not made by just one CEO. You're still shitposting.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Everyone has psychopathic traits, but you need them all to be one. And I've never seen any evidence of that CEOs have more than most people.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Then you've been living under a stone. Some psychopathic traits are what brings them to their positions. And no, you mustn't fit all traits>

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

If I could still buy the original sims, like the game I got for Christmas like 16 years ago, I would give them my money.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

you can, it would be used though so the money would go to someone else.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I mean like, downloadable. I have a macbook air, so I don't even have a disk drive haha

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

well they have USB disc drives or you can go with the buccaneer option...

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I have tried the buccaneer option, what sites do people use for that kind of thing these days?

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

With the exception of Bioware I haven't gotten an EA game in a while. The big thing is don't pre-order, especially not for a digital copy.

8 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

Ayy. All of the EA games I have are BioWare ones. ME2, DA:O, and SWTOR...but you don't buy that one, so.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

I bought SWTOR when it first came out, and played like 5 hours before getting annoyed with grinding.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Amendment: You don't buy it anymore* I keep forgetting it used to require the sub to even play at all. Also, I think they fixed the

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

grinding issue until you hit FUCKING TARIS.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Imo the people to blame are all the idiots who buy fifa packs.

8 years ago | Likes 61 Dislikes 4

I think more of the blame is on people who immediately pre-buy or order when they see a fucking trailer

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Idiocy at its finest idd

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

For the lowering standards i agree but for the microtrans i would bet money that ea are aiming to replicate the success of fifa packs.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Why does everyone act like EA killed their mother and shit on their beds? They make shitty video games, don't buy them.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

If everyone says nothing, nothing will be done. Bitch a little and people start noticing. Not everyone is as smart as you or I.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I hate EA too but goddamn this is so overblown it's ridiculous

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 2

I completely agree, does my comment indicate i dont?

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

No sorry it was just one of the easiest places to address where it might actually be seen (sorry!). Less replies

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

No need to be sorry. Needs to be more people saying it.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Well, you can't stop those people at all. But the ones that preorder EA and then complain when it turns out to be shit. Need perspective

8 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 2

people that still pre-order things in general, regardless of the company.. i shake my head. Stop feeding the monsters

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Plus beta playing is basically working for them and paying to find bugs... It... It... Bugs me

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

You can thank sports games for basically turning EA into what it is now.

8 years ago | Likes 169 Dislikes 3

I'm glad they don't make baseball

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

MLB the show on PlayStation is a solid series made by 989 I think. Better than ea

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

And sports fans...

8 years ago | Likes 29 Dislikes 22

...That's a lot of people.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

oh shut the fuck up.

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 6

why are sports fans to blame?

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

Exactly people forget when their used to be other football games and they was competition to be better then EA made Madden the only game

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 1

NFL 2k5 was a fantastic game. Which is why EA made an exclusive deal with the NFL to get rid of competition. Look what happened w/live v 2k

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Exactly bro

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

NFL 2k5 was so fun and now 2k is starting to falter a bit because they have no competition.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I havent gotten 2k18. I thought 2k17 was great especially the myplayer story I also preferred their baseball games when I got baseball games

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I haven't like a myplayer story since 2k15. Justice Young was so stupid in my opinion.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Also yes

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I mean if you're a sports fan and only have one option what are you supposed to do?

8 years ago | Likes 59 Dislikes 11

Yup. I hate EA too but I buy the new NHL game every year to play EASHL with my friends.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 4

Don't buy their garbage? You don't have to enable a monopoly, just because you're a fan of what the monopoly was built upon.

8 years ago | Likes 19 Dislikes 23

Play sports?

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

THANK YOU

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 5

I mean it's the same game every year with marginally better graphics. Aren't you bored with it by now?

8 years ago | Likes 30 Dislikes 1

Play better games

8 years ago | Likes 32 Dislikes 43

Don't buy a new Madden game every year

8 years ago | Likes 29 Dislikes 2

This

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I think the majority of people dont

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Especially with how easy a simple update would be. Maybe not mechanics like live actual player stats, but once it's in, back to updates

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I'm not saying you should, but it doesn't change the fact that EA is the only one making them. Sometimes you don't have a choice

8 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 3

You're right. My comment is just about adding less fuel to the raging fire that is EA

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

There's also 2K sports.

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 4

nah. EA bought the NFL & ESPN copyrights & shit. they're the only ones that can legally make a NFL game

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Not really. It's maybe slightly different now with pes being good again but for 10 years it was EA or nothing.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I'm just glad MLB fell out with EA because of EA bullshit and just works with Sony.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

MVP baseball 2005 is still the best baseball game ever made

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

But they basically only do basketball don't they? I mean they stopped making 2k football

8 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

2K football got killed off when EA bought sole rights to use NFL teams/player likenesses from the league. That was over 10 years ago.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I'd play a 2k football engine game with CFL teams or customization teams and players with NFL rules.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0
