#6 CLIT-ON

9 years ago | Likes 25 Dislikes 2

has a really nice style by deefault

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

I find the different cartoons that each artist references and their familiarity with replicating the style interesting.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Saw flapjack. Now OP is a cuddler

9 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

The Disney style in the very first one is super official.

9 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

I love that Gorillaz one at #8

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

me toooo

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

some of these artists are better at drawing the alternate styles than their own >_> obvs just a personal opinion.

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

emulation can often be easier than creating a brand new appealing style from scratch

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Beavis and butthead remake with Trump and Hillary? We need exactly one episode.

9 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

#9 is your A student.

9 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

Man, nobody drew their characters in Gangnam Style.

9 years ago | Likes 43 Dislikes 0

They all where great I liked #9 best

9 years ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 1

I liked how the artist even changed the lettering on the tee shirt.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Suddenly everyone is an artist and critic. Lmao

9 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 2

Jokes on you, I'm literally both.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

You don't need to be an artist to critique this. I'll take advice from a heaven-sent artist but, I'll get my appreciation from the masses.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

nice buzzfeed title

9 years ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 3

I hate those titles

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

If the artist didnt credit themselves like most of them did in the post its kinda their fault too.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Internet Users HATE This One Small Thing!

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Man apparently Steven Universe's style is hard to emulate. #10 and #17 did it well, and I was able to guess #5 only because of the star eyes

9 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 1

That furry Sonic though.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

The eyes and roundness in #5 also go with it but not as well I don't think.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

The hair is too busy, hair in SU is usually very clean lines or wide curves

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

This is great, but what about artists' credit?

9 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 3

Each image has its own credit.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Welcome to Imgur

9 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 1

It looks like most people interpreted the challenge as "put your features on an existing character"

9 years ago | Likes 127 Dislikes 4

No one does south park??! These are great though.

9 years ago | Likes 20 Dislikes 0

South park is less drawing and more construction. Ultrasimplistic can be fun to do, but South park is borderline another type of proficiency

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

A lot of these just look like tracing characters from the shows and changing colours a little. Not that I could do any better.

9 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

A quarter of the "my style" drawings look like a damn Bratz doll.

9 years ago | Likes 48 Dislikes 5

I was thinking that too. Could stand to simplify.

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Yeah, a lot of them seemed like looks that are hard to reproduce at scale, which is why most of the cartoons have more simplicity.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Fuck that title

9 years ago | Likes 51 Dislikes 5

You won't believe what happens next!

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

The Boondocks look so angry

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

When all you do is blame all your problems on the white man, you tend to be grumpy.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 5

You must have only seen the first episode, huh?

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Not even gonna wait, here's https://youtu.be/M5FR1LGsT7E the 1st season finale. The artist regularly took stabs at black culture

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Love how MLK is portrayed by Cuba Gooding Jr in his own biopic and likes to get a McRib as a guilty pleasure. "I know I shouldn't eat these"

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

wtf lol, I mean I havn't watched the whole show, but frm what I have seen they poke fun/complain about black culture more than anything else

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

to be more accurate they take shots at 'nigger/a/uh culture' as the show puts it rather than 'black culture' since they like to separate it.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Nigga Moment + Nigga Synthesis = Complete Fucking Disaster. McGruder Algebra 101. Also the chair effect.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Mine's a bit anime-centric but I'm gonna do another some point

9 years ago | Likes 50 Dislikes 0

"Your style" is really just Steven Universe with some shading, but other than that it all matches pretty spot on.

9 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 2

Well, Idk,I developed that similar style before SU, i wont deny it may have had some influence

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Who am i kidding, it had a major influence, but I mix a lot into my work i can no longer tell. I still feel like it's its own thing in a way

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Nailed the DBZ

9 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Now do Hirohiko Araki and Kentaro Miura.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Funny, I was asked to do Hirohiko Araki's work like 3 times now. I can try it, but Kentaro Miura's work seems like a good challenge.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

The thing about Araki is that he's challenged himself by changing up his artstyle a lot.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Your AoT works just as well with FMA! And holy crap do you draw manga because you should!

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Thanks. Lol I noticed the resemblance after I went back to watch some FMA videos. And I do, but i'm trying to garnish a decent fanbase first

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

(2) before I start releasing them. but I'm not very good with advertising lol..

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

You can't get a fanbase if you have no released work! Do you have an art page or summat? I'd like to see some more of your work if thats ok

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Well.. True, i do have a few drawings out http://keatonts.devian">ery/">http://keatonts.deviantart.com/gallery/ and https://keatonts.tumblr.com/

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

you really are talented man! You gotta get out there and promote your work. I could totally see your stuff on TV or Movies!

I love how you designed the shark on the fairly odd parents shirt. shows your attention to detail <3

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

nailed it

9 years ago | Likes 20 Dislikes 0

You understood the challenge better than most of the people in the post did. I'll upvote.

9 years ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 1

Well, Rainbow Dash does always dress in style.

I was surprised to see Spirit in there. And done well, too!

pls link me source cause i fail my advanced google classes in kindergarden

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

It is an awesome movie.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

The movie is "Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron" and this is the art style:

9 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

That movie was my absolute favorite when I was a kid.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Correction: the movie is 'my favorite movie' and the art style made me cry.

9 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

"Half of Instagram" lol

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I didn't quite get that, someone explain please? ????

9 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

Dragonball memes son. All over Instagram.

9 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 0

I went through the comments seeing of someone else caught that lmao

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

basically

9 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Soft-core and Dragonball

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

"models" and "entertainers"

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

#3 is just taking existing characters in all those shows and modifying them ever so slightly

9 years ago | Likes 355 Dislikes 2

lisa's hair is neat though

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

though i gotta admit, lisas hair kinda makes sense now.

9 years ago | Likes 20 Dislikes 0

No you guys its not garnet I swear see this one is yellow

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

the original screams "i traced a photo, this is art"

9 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 4

yep. cop out. =/ i was disappointed in that artist.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I'll just take Susie from Rugrats and give her a slightly different haircut and a nose ring.

9 years ago | Likes 46 Dislikes 0

And Lisa and Patty and Daria and Jazmine DuBois

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

The point is that they copied the other artists style and juxtaposed them with their own. It can be difficult to copy another artists style

9 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 16

Something being "difficult" doesn't excuse a poor result.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

You can draw a character in the style of The Simpsons without taking a picture of Lisa and changing the skin colour.

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Some people understand changing style and some don't

9 years ago | Likes 1793 Dislikes 15

universal rule it seems, is that Disney princesses are always made as smashable as possible.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Glad I'm not the only one who thinks that LOL

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

The one labeled Haste & Hinds got it pretty well.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It feels like some people are only able to draw their hair style =P

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

To be fair none of these look like pro artists, mostly teens I'd assume. They're still learning.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It's not about changing style, but about evokating another style. You don't have to lose your identity in this operation.

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 3

The thing that annoyed me was how a lot of them couldn't change the elaborate hair in their own style to fit the different styles.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yeah a lot of them just recolored the main char as their own character's color or such

9 years ago | Likes 123 Dislikes 1

Either that, or they just drew all of them in the same style with some slight modifications to proportions.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I was considering saying this word for word, then I changed my mind for fear of being downvoted. 100% agree.

9 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 3

exactly what I thought lol

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

At least they tried! Drawing in a different style isn't always easy to do, believe me.

9 years ago | Likes 113 Dislikes 18

Exactly! Thank you!

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 8

I understand its hard. However if you are just gonna pull a character and and change skin tone does it count for this challenge?

9 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 2

No point taking a "challenge" and then just tracing.

9 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 3

Takes practice, something i wish i kept up. Havent drawn anything in 15 years and now when i try i hate the result and get discouraged.

9 years ago | Likes 19 Dislikes 2

I just restarted after 7 years and I got huge praise for my first attempt at a cartoon style character in a decade.

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Ive been drawing since probably 3yr im 17 now and I think im pretty good but whenever I finish a peice I cant stop myself from 1/2

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Staring at it until I hate it. 2/2

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Right? guys, if you're gonna draw it in "the simpsons style" you cant use the same shading..

9 years ago | Likes 428 Dislikes 5

And you can't just add stars in the pupil (or draw them as Garnet) to make it Steven Universe..

9 years ago | Likes 224 Dislikes 4

But Garnet is the answer.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Well I thought that was pretty funny

9 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

sorry I'm lost, which one that'd be? they all look nice to me the uneducated

9 years ago | Likes 34 Dislikes 4

They basically color swapped a lot of characters.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

#15 is a major example, the style is basically the same in every single drawing and altered in only minor ways

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 2

Look for the ones that basically took a character and changed the colors. #3 is a prime example.

9 years ago | Likes 45 Dislikes 1

I'd say 3 is still decent. Other than his SU, he just needs to shade to the other styles.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Wait, I'm dumb, I was looking at #6

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

The Rugrats one looks exactly like Susie Carmichael.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

As opposed to #19 where you can tell what show the character would be from, but is more like the artist's character than one on the show.

9 years ago | Likes 28 Dislikes 1

... And I would also say #19 is a poor example. She did well shading, but her line work never changes.

9 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 2

My favorite was #14 because they drew the characters in those styles instead of just recoloring existing characters like #1

9 years ago | Likes 568 Dislikes 15

Yeah, a lot of these simply took their own colours and applied to the other series characters...

9 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 2

#12 for one piece they didn't even do the style correctly they just gave her character Luffy's scar and hat.

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Not to mention the Simpsons part omg

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

I was honestly so blown away by the ability on display I didn't stop to think that some of these people were photoshopping

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I see what you did there

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

#1 was way better than #3

9 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 1

#1 was recolored pre-existing characters.

9 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 2

I agree #1 is the worst offender, but in a few of these styles, MOST of the characters drawn are basically just recolors.

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

#4. Luvd it

9 years ago | Likes 56 Dislikes 7

Best one imo

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 2

I agree

There's no Teen Titans GO in there

9 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 3

Bc it's great

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 6

It'd just be cool if it was a continuation and I think old fans want that more than a kids show.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The show is alright but, the old Teen Titans was the shit. Back on topic, it's well done and looks pretty but, a little too much Jinx in it.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I think it's good if you don't compare it at all to the original, if you just think of it as another children's cartoon.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I thought #5 was the best cuz they all looked like the same person but in actual different styles.

9 years ago | Likes 268 Dislikes 5

That ed Edd and eddy

9 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 1

I thought he kept the hair too much the same - didn't seem a style that those artists would have remained consistent on. Otherwise, cool.

9 years ago | Likes 34 Dislikes 2

I thought it was a good neutral design that fit into the styles pretty well.

9 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

#8 and #10 did a great job of varying the hairstyles to match the artwork styles, for example. See how they're different and yet the same?

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

the hairstyles are unique, but then their faces were all the shape of main characters and even had similar facial features.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

speaking as an artist, #16 is the best artist of the 20. exelent contour, exelent skintones, line work is amazing.

9 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 12

I don't agree a l9t of these seem to be her style but with a change to the line work not much else

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

...Excellent?

9 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

to each other.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Hey, she's an artist, not a linguist.

9 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

Just wondering, why did you assume female pronouns?

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

You wouldn't have asked that If they assumed male pronouns

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

I'm really not sure. My mom's an artist, so maybe I associate artists with women.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

*he

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Respectfully disagree. #14 has the best line work by far.

9 years ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 2

little late on the reply, but couldent disagree morethe line work is strait, ut it lacks flurish. no line wieght changes, no flow to drawins

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I'd have to side with #16 when it comes to the line work. Although in #14 with her original style the line work is beautifully done.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

The thing that bugged me about #14 (which is otherwise great) is that the flowers should've changed style too.

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

They did change style, though.

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Shoot, you're right. Must not've looked close enough.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0
