TheChook
I always do this for my kids. The good expensive stuff comes from daddy. Santa's not taking all the credit. The fat bastard.
CocktailGaming
I'll raise my nonexistent kids the way I fucking want. "You didn't get a gift because Santa is not real and daddy wanted a gaming computer."
Mcmcman
Oh shut the fuck up
Tomadzo
Our kids get one present from Santa, the rest from us. We've told santa to take more presents to needier kids. We're well off in our house.
yoshi
if i'd wanted facebook posts i'd go on facebook -.-
Benegesseritwitch75
Screw you, you don't get to tell me how to mess up my kids hell I kept one kid believing in Santa till she was 12 and she was pissed
Tokeru
i hate this so much.
ktmaye
I'll give my kids whatever I- oh wait I don't have kids lol
Straightedgedliquid
Or don't teach kids about santa. Or in my case, don't have kids. Who's getting that playstation? Me, motherfucker
I'm pretty sure kids that believe in Santa are not that concerned with the income inequality in soceity.
PoopFrosting
fuck santa lil homie, mommy and daddy busted ASS to get you these damn games, you better 100% them suckas
Sephority
Exactly like why even lie to your kids. "Here kids christmas is family present time." The end

My son knows kids who get nothing for Xmas. I got mad when he told me he gave one his mud boots, until he told me the kid didn't have boots.
Rodeodoc
I first read that as your kid gave 1 boot. LOL! You are raising your kids right.
JWT07
All this pc propaganda is really getting old -_-
Iteki
I know parents who do it the other way round, so the kid doesn't expect the parent to be able to afford things all year round ...
... but can still get a "big" gift once a year thanks to Santa.
catfishingyourmom
I actually used to wonder about this as a child.
AbyssalGigantism
The kid is going to realize Santa isn't real by like age 7, so they're going to know all the gifts are coming from you
1123somethingsomething
Hey, some adults still believe in gods
Zombeavers
or... OR.... i'll tell my kid whatever i want about the gifts i give her for christmas
AccountCreatedToUpdogVotes
As someone who doesn't have children, I agree with you. Your child shouldn't be punished for other families' financial statuses.
Unoski
Actually, I think the status is saying small gifts from Santa and you can do whatever you want for your presents to the kids.
Earan
Why would their child be punished if they received a bigger proportion of gifts from their parents rather than Santa?
Some families use Santa because their financial situation is tenuous. Id mommy/daddy loses their job parents can blame Santa.
Right, got it
QueenAntifa
stusauce
That's basically what I do with my kids. You think Santa's getting credit for that bike? Hell no! Santa got you socks bruh.
itsPixie
He'll yeah. Santa gets my kids "interesting" gifts but I get credit for the fucking awesome ones.
DrWhoodles
That's how my mom was too, she didn't even really want to do the santa thing at all but felt like she had to, so he gave small things.
MythMaker
At my house, as a child, Santa did the stocking, so it was mainly candy and small gifts.
MrsZbornak
i do this too. santa gets them small presents and candy and my husband and i get credit for the big presents.
Kimball1890
I love this comment so much
emjei
We do the same thing. Santa's not getting credit for the awesome gifts, shoot...
Chexorz
Same here. Santa brings one gift. Just one. And it's definitely not the best gift.
fulminatrix
Same, Santa always brought us one fun gift that was left unwrapped in front of the fireplace (to play with while awaiting grandparents).
parker52
If your kid cant figure out that a man that lives with a group of elves in the north pole flies around the earth in one night, delivering to
Ys to every kid on the planet, probably doesnt exist, why the fuck would the economic value of their toys pop into his/her head?
frageelay
Or don't pull the Santa shit with your kids. Don't teach them consumerism anymore than they will learn on their own.
ItsNoir
I try not to intentionally discriminate, but im not interested in other families during christmas time. Only thinking about my own family.
cattywumpus
I was told that because we didn't have a chimney, Santa could only give us small presents that could fit in the mailbox.
donttalktomeihaventhadmycoffee
"Santa had to buy a new furnace this year" -me to my son. :/
icejanitor
That's rather stupid
Zanthy
Just tell the kids the truth, that santa is really just the Easter Bunny in a costume
DoctorPitt
And the easter bunny is really an alien xenomorph and the reason we collect the eggs is they dont hatch
triagepony
I have a pet facehugger named Squeeker
DopeyFuckedaPenguinAgain
Or you know you could just tell your kids the truth that Santa is not real
JohnnyDeformed
WHAT???
RictusBlade
Wait satan is not real, what about the Easter Bunny?
Softcreamybeige
HAIL SANTA
No my dear child you are misinformed... Satan is very real
WhatzitTooya
Contrary to the easter bunny, which is actually a western bunny in disguise.
HighFive1
I never believed in Santa. I was taught that other kids do and not to ruin it for them
tenfortysix
Same. Not for religious reasons, we were poor and my mom didn't want me to think I was a bad kid cause I didn't get as many presents.
TigerHollywood
Same.

Trying to do this for my now 3 year old daughter. Not for religious reasons, just don't want to lie. Do you feel like you missed out?
netterzkastle
No. I didn't even like Santa. When there was a Santa at the mall, it creeped me out.
No not at all. I was able to show gratitude to the people who gave me the gifts. If anything it added to the spirit of Christmas

Close? Southern Baptist
SugarSmack
Yep. My parents turned their backs on commercialism as much as possible and focused on the religious holiday. I'm less of a stickler myself.
Hyscylde
There are dozens of us! I'm still not a fan of the idea of santa, but I wouldn't ruin it for anyone.
Hey. thanks for getting the joke. Not big on the commercialization myself anymore. It's just stuff. Would rather have the memories.
swanglemydangle

in regards to their gifting choices, NO! It's a personal choice and what happens in other households shouldn't matter.
Not all kids even get gifts at all. Does that mean nobody should give gifts? Don't underestimate what kids can learn and understand.
They grow up faster and come up with their own life lessons. So many kids are babied and too sheltered. This is a disservice to them.
That's not love. THAT IS SPOILING much moreso than gifting ipads and such.

i think there is logic to this though, if your kid has poor friends it might be a good idea to keep them grounded
