Larry Hogan directed flags around the state to fly at half-staff and released the following statement: "The murder of Prince George's County police officer Corporal Mujahid Ramzziddin in the line of duty today is an unspeakable tragedy. The First Lady and I are praying for his family, loved ones, and the department during this difficult time.
Corporal Ramzziddin was a military veteran and a distinguished law enforcement officer who made the ultimate sacrifice in the defense of his neighbors and community. His memory and service will never be forgotten. I have extended my full support to County Executive Rushern Baker, Police Chief Hank Stawinski, and all of the dedicated men and women of the Prince George's County Police Department as they mourn their fallen fellow officer. The state is standing by to offer any assistance needed to Prince George's County as they investigate this terrible and senseless crime." http://www.fox5dc.com/news/local-news/prince-georges-county-police-respond-to-shooting-in-brandywine

Having been born in Prince George and living close by now, I'm proud to see such great people do great things from the community

13 officers died in Feb. 22 this year. About 5 died the week my husband was shot on duty. Hoping March is a better month...
McKavian
I hope your husband was shot, not killed. Ex (army) cop here if you need to talk/vent.

What a waste of life all around. I'd like to hear the toxicology results. What a mess humans are capable of
Odiumic
Guy kind looks a bit like Keith David. RIP officer

He should been the deputy at parklands. He would have saved the kids.
erbiumyttriumytterbium
My first thought was OMG he was Muslim. Dunno why that surprised me. Our country is growing more diverse over time, and that is good. 2>

Wonder how many people have to die before we realize that there is no "them", only "us".
ParizPariz
I live in PG, this was pretty rough on folks.
BubbaRunski
So a gun in the home didn't actually make things safer, it caused the death of a police officer. I blame all those violent video games...
Silas007
Yes - and then police is trained to never take the slightest risk and always shoot because pretty much everyone has a gun.
IonlythinkIhaveproblems
Glad he was avenged. Some people need killing.
k4nku
U seem like a fun person
GriffinMann41
I never heard about this because the power went out b/c of the Wind storm. Damn, that sucks. RIP to that brave bastard.

That pos got off easy but I’m glad garbage like that was taken out. That officer is from my home county of PG. May he Rest In Peace.

You guys really know how to make a multicultural society work. Amazeballs!

I’ll say it, had police listened to the women complaining, one of their own would not have died. The system needs work. RIP to a hero.
WiserDucksLivesLonger
I was wondering about this too. Wouldn't they look up were this person is? Although I know too little how it works to discuss.
ClubbedSandwich
That man should have a statue made in his honor. RIP Mujahid

Hard read. Needs paragraphs. RIP Officer Ramzziddin.

That made it many times more legible, thank you.

Only imgur. Insult a persons grammar when they talk about a murdered police officer.

Are you high? They weren’t being insulting. It is hard to follow without paragraphs especially in Imgur’s layout.
Conlo5
Spoke to him about his WC claims the day before this happened. nice to see some local respect for Ramz
AbsolutelyNotTheNSA
The comments here are ridiculous. Bringing religion and issues from elsewhere in the country (Parkland) and BLM into it. 1/2
AbsolutelyNotTheNSA
The bottom line. Good cop honoured by other cops. End of. Enough WTH politicising everything. 2/2

Right. It should be gun gontrol rather than religion.

As an Army Vet, to all those folks holding that Thin Blue Line, thank you for your daily service.

Needs a TL;DR, but good for him, shame to lose a decent human in these trying times
mufasa1028
What's a TL:DR?
AlexisActually
stands for too long; didn't read. A summary for the lazy.
Nova5269
His sacrifice shouldn't be shortened into one sentence
OrionCenturion
Personally, I believe this should be read in full rather than summarised in one sentence, he deserves that much.
ClubbedSandwich
I feel like the title does a good job at that.

PG is a fucked up county.
Raecracy123abc
PG is a very large county. 13th largest in the country when I lived there. Its only "fucked up
Grillparzer
Maybe, but I'm glad to live there when officers like Ramzziddin are working.
CidEquinox
It’s not so bad but it could definitely be better
Raecracy123abc
PG is a very large county. 13th largest in the country when I lived there. Most of the "fucked up" if from an unfairly small portion.
NacLac
Shooting someone with a shotgun is one thing. BUT FIVE rounds? The man needs to be locked away until he rots.
Nova5269
The shooter died in a firefight with the police. And better off, no taxpayers paying for a cop killer.

I say he be gibbeted

My dad always hated domestics. Going into someone else’s home, not knowing if they have weapons and into a volatile, emotional situation.
ThatWillBuffOut
And that's why he stopped being a pizza delivery guy.
BeerIsProofThatGodLovesUsAndWantsUsToBeHappy
Domestics are statistically the most dangerous call for law enforcement for the exact reasons you just said.
TheDodoIsAlive
Here in Ireland, there was a local Garda (police officer) called to a domestic. He entered to try and sort out what was going on.
TheDodoIsAlive
He was shot in the doorway of the house by a woman’s husband who was abusing her. Bare in mind that uniformed Gardaí are unarmed
TheDodoIsAlive
This came a few months after another Garda was shot dead on a cash run with his house situated beside it and his family home.
TheDodoIsAlive
This happened less than a 20 minute drive from where I live and it still shocks everyone to this day. This is why I have tremendous respect
TheDodoIsAlive

Not a cop but around them all the time. Many say domestics are one of the worst bc of how unpredictable they/people can be.
Darkspire
Yeah I've heard it was the worst as well.
WellhowdidIgethere
The people who call for help will turn on you before you can blink.
ultradongle
My uncle had the woman who called in the dispute pull out a shotgun on him after he cuffed the BF when he was a sheriff deputy.

Dad is a chief of police, he said domestics are definitely the worst, even more so than traffic.

This is how it should be: Honoring and respecting a fallen comrade regardless of religion.

Damn, dude. Did you have to bring up the r word?

Respect?

Regardless

Yep. Although it would be nice if some people were ok with honoring them at other times too, instead of only when they're fallen.

Yup, its a shame it takes death to really bring us together. Celebrate life ffs people!
