Well, I found out I got the cover of Surfer Magazine yesterday.

After 10 years of photographing waves in New York, I just found out I got the cover of Surfer Magazine!

My dream has always been that I would get a cover of Surfer Magazine and today I found out that it would happen in 2016. To me the point of taking surf photos has always been about the wave and capturing that beauty. It's hard to say why I find I'm so drawn to it but for my hard work to be celebrated by showing it to the world through Surfer Magazine is amazing. I grew up in New York, where I still reside to this day, and this image is of a wave breaking at dusk in March. The water is freezing cold and I was completely alone out there doing what I love. If you have a passion and you stay dedicated to fulfilling the dreams you have, this is proof you can do it. I swear I am just a guy who had drive and passion for what he did and now I have an accomplishment that no one can ever take away from me, and you can do the same. I grew up in NY in the 80's, I watched a police officer get shot just feet away from me when I was just 8 years old, I hadn't ever seen the actual sun set on the horizon until I was a teenager! It was always behind the NY skyline. Tomorrow will be a date you can say I started anew, but why wait until then when you can do one little thing today! You can do this.
