It's hard

Jul 11, 2017 2:19 AM

Once I got sober, my weight became an issue. I figured it was okay at first but it's not anymore. That was 7 years ago. I didnt realize how big i had gotten.

I've sat and cried because pants don't fit. I've felt disappointed with myself for giving up. I've listened to that voice that said having a cheat week was okay. I've felt so uncomfertable just being. Nothing fit and I hated looking in the mirror.

8 weeks ago, I joined a crossfit gym and im currently going three days a week. (Say what you want, but it gets me there) I've always struggled with my diet and because of that, hold all of my weight in my mid section.

I've got no upper body strength, but I can crack a bowling ball with my legs. I'm in the middle of my 'transformation' I don't want this to be a diet or a temporary thing. I want this to be a new start, to a new me.

It's hard. I hate running with a burning passion. But I do it. I'm so sore and I don't want to go to the next class, but I go, because it's moving forward. I don't want to eat that salad because I'm not a fucking rabbit. But I do it.

If you are thinking of giving up on your own transformation, I'm posting this to remind you to keep moving forward. Don't give up. It's too easy to quit. You didnt gain all that weight in one day, nor will you loose it in one day.

you are so worth it.

Good job. But I have to be the asshole to point out- *lose.

@OP, Thanks. I just had my 31st bday. I tried to put on a nice outfit to go out to dinner, & none of my nice clothes fit. This helps.

Retired Marine here: I respect the *fuck* out of fat people suffering in the gym and on the track. You. Are. Winning. Continue to win.

You traded one vice for another. Now turn your food vice into a workout vice. Get addicted to it.

One stance I've always had was Never mock an overweight person at the gym. Even if they can't do much, at least they're trying.

Keep it up. You've proven your strength by getting sober. As your body gets more in shape, working out will get easier. Good luck.

Man. In the end of the day you don't have to like the method but if it works for people and helps them get where they want to be, who cares.

Nope not true. Go to any globo gym to learn real bad habits. All depends on the teacher just like with learning anything.

If only I could sculpt myself a larger dick...

The important thing is to never stop. Fitness is about maintaining healthy habits over a long period. Keep it up!

Bad eating habits are like drug addiction, it always try to creep back. "It's okay, I'm only doing it this one time for the taste".

See, that's the part that makes me not wanna start.

The baboon in Bojack Horseman sums it up about running: "it gets easier. The hard part is you gotta do it every day."

A study or two has come out showing cross fit has better outcomes due to the group mentality of expecting other group members to show up

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

It's easier to keep at it and have fun with...up until it wrecks your body from bad form and your joints sound like the tin man.

I still find most of their activities very dangerous.
