Help for Nero

So I haven't posted before but find my gorgeous cat Nero stumbling around my daughter's room, clearly in pain. He's just under a year old and is such a gentle soul. I checked him and found most of the skin missing from the bottom half of his hind leg. I think he was run over by a car.

Stupidly he isn't insured and I'm footing the whole bill. I was given the option of amputation, the cheaper option, or try and stitch him up and if that doesn't take look at the other options again like skin grafts. So far my bill is £700 with £150 extra every time the dressing is changed every three days. I want to save his leg. Probably looking at a couple of grand all in.

Do you think a small go fund me would be worthwhile? Would anyone want to help? I've never asked for money but this is more than I can manage right now and will force me into debt. Honest opinions please, kind, odd, cat loving Imgur people.
