Sort of, they would drape the flag on the top or near the top for airplane ID.

Yes, it was for friendly fire avoidance. That's why most forces placed it on back, odds are you aren't showing your tail to the enemy.

Not sure. Trying to do both. I'm just going by some WW2 books I have. They have some decent pictures im using as reference
I ask because I'm 90% sure that the tigers didn't have flags on the back, if any at all; could be wrong but I've never seen any.
maybe Im not sure, but I like the way it looks so I figure why not.

it's a heng long RC tank. Plain dull blue gray. So I stripped it and re painted and hand painted all the details, battle damage and camo
