Does the towel trick work? Seems just crazy enough to work. At lease the ice will come off with the towel

We used to get band winters like this in Chicago, now thanks to global warming, I’ve only had to shovel my parking space once in 3 years!

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Convincing the bf to move from Australia to Canada... these memes don’t help

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

GOOD THING YOU PUT THE WIPERS UP

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Make sure to change you blinker fluid to winter formula.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

On my run wearing a ski mask, two shirts, and ultra thick mittens I passed by some fucker in shorts and one shirt. Canadian or Martian?

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Good thing I put the wipers up.

This was in front of my patio door last year:

Gaming?

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

... I think you mean "boys don't grow up, they just get bigger." plz send your snow to Tahoe, CA thnx <3

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

kids were playing outside in montreal, because it's not a snow storm anymore, right?

8 years ago | Likes 42 Dislikes 1

Internet probably went out.

8 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

*turns head to right to look out window* yup, still snowing. *sigh*

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

#17 They didn't remove the snow back then. Hard to compare properly.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Come to Nova Scotia. We've had barely any snow this year. :(

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

In defense of shorts and sandals, you get REALLY hot when shoveling that much snow. Hard work.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I'm guessing you don't ski

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

If you move to Victoria, B.C., you’ll hardly see snow. If it snows over 5 cm’s there the city will shut down. Also, lots of babes there!

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

That seems accurate right now on all accords.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

what kind of pussy bullshit is #6 i would kill for number 6

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I live in Alabama, Southern United States, and it was 81°F Ferbruar 23.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

With my experience. Do NOT put your windshield wipers up.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Why? We put ours up if it's ice or light snow expected, but not for heavy/wet snow.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

“Fun” fact—people climbing Mount Everest end up getting sunburned on the roofs of their mouths!

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

#1 #4

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

#3 that's no lie, I have been sunburnt in mid winter

8 years ago | Likes 21 Dislikes 1

That’s the downhill skier look. Burnt dark brown face with anemic white around the eyes where the goggles are

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Interesting fact: it's advised to wear sunscreen when in the snow (if you're irritatingly extra) because the UV rays bounce off the (1/2)

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

(2/2) White of the snow. This is because of something like all light reflects off of white or smth. Idk I'm just a lazy teen on imgur.

As someone who has studied physics, it always shocks me how little most people know about our universe.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

It was 70 F in PA this week. I haven't even touched a shovel yet

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

We in the real north no longer like you!

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Yeah but what was it like for the entire month of January? My parents still live near Scranton, they said the oil bill was through the roof

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It was 79 where I am in PA, but that’s gone now. Also I’m from Maine so I don’t like tease the northerners too much.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Nearly 80 in Florida. We have crazy people, but beautiful weather.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

U-huh, and like being on the surface of the sun in summer.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Miserable in summer. I vacation away from here; head north for cooler temps.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Does that idea of putting a bucket of boiling water on a windshield actually work? 50/50 on trying it.

8 years ago | Likes 37 Dislikes 7

Works perfect. Will clean your windshield too.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 5

I now realize my mistake. And also recognize that I asked for it. At least it’s Friday :/

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I do it most morning's. If be late for work allot if I didn't

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 6

The extreme change in temperature is uh... not ideal... for the glass.

8 years ago | Likes 27 Dislikes 0

Many thanks kind sir.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Not boiling but hot water works just fine.

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 4

I've done this with hot water. The only reason I did it was not knowing any better and ice was to hard for scraper. Didn't shatter tho!

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

If the windshield is not chipped.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

better if it's lukewarm, not hot. Still not a great idea though, especially if it's still really cold outside because water re-freezes

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Also put screws in your tires for traction and change to winter oil

8 years ago | Likes 49 Dislikes 1

Change blinker fluid while you're at it.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Drain the coolant too. Coolant is only for the summer

8 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

No you put it in the gas tank to keep the fuel from freezing

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Before or after replacing the super blades with sandpaper? Gotta get through that ice right?

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

But there IS winter oil!

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

No NO NO NO. Hot water on cold windshield will shatter it.

8 years ago | Likes 397 Dislikes 13

Yes. We know.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Heat makes things expand, cold makes them contract. Change too rapidly and the thermal stress shatters the glass. Physics is fun.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Physics is not fun. Observations of it, maybe. But not physics itself.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

As an engineer, I disagree.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

8 years ago | Likes 70 Dislikes 2

Well yeah considering most of the others were true

8 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 1

That meme would fit if there was a joke there. Making someone laugh and costing them hundreds are 2 entirely different concepts

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Apparently luke-warm water carefully poured on does work, but then again, that was also internet advice, and we all know that's 120% truth.

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

No, it does work. My mum always does it on cold mornings and she's never got a crack. Boiling, no. Warm, yes.

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Don't worry, it'll cool down to just-about freezing by the time it gets there.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Nice try. At least the towel one really works.

8 years ago | Likes 90 Dislikes 2

My wife uses a plastic protector. It would work, if she actually used the fucking thing

8 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

Yeah but make sure the towel is soaked. Just damp might not cut it.

8 years ago | Likes 40 Dislikes 1

It's easier to use a dry sheet or towel, btw. Wet Things in winter freeze in unpredictable ways.

8 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 4

Subaru has a de-icing package with heating strips in the lower windshield so you never have to lift the wipers or worry about ice. Nice!

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Trolling.. winter style. :)

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Ssh let them figure that out. Some people just has to experience things to learn.

8 years ago | Likes 103 Dislikes 11

did you know you can recharge your phone by putting it in the microwave

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Yeah sure why don't YOU experience the effect of sandpaper on your wipers to scrape off the ice? The internet doesn't lie, after all.. (j/k)

8 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

1. Take a dictionary, 2. Look up "Sarcasm"

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 3

That’s a lie.

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 38

Ha, have fun with that one

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Prove me wrong.

8 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 1

Sarcasm and have enough sense to live in a warm climate.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 38

So, you have no idea what you are talking about. Got it.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Sarcasm isn't obvious in writing and I live in a sub tropical climate. I'm still aware of it and I'm not an asshole to random people online.

8 years ago | Likes 29 Dislikes 0

Ive seen people experimenting with italicizing every other letter to indicate sarcasm. It works decently well.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

What happens if you leave the wipers down?

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I have had mine freeze to my windshield. It’s a delicate game trying to get them off without breaking them.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Then don't activate them until they're thawed. Running them over ice ruins them quickly anyway.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I never turn them on when they are frozen. Plus why would you turn them on when the windshield is still iced over?

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Exactly, so why leave them up?

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

So you can avoid the hassle of unfreezing them altogether.
