9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I'm gonna go make this exact thing now.

9 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

Now make an I, and C and an E and spell out NICE. Or CNET, if you really want to.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I've never understood why in America you call it "shop class"?

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That's a treasure.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Well netscape navigator was still in business back when.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Shop changed my life. It give me confidence with tools. I'm now building my own boat.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Omg that's freaking awsome!!!

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

If we had a section called "Handcrafted" this would be winning it

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

My grandfather was a shop teacher. Taught a lot of kids to make a solid living as machinists or welders.

And now you can just print that shit. The future is crazy

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Paint it

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Shop teacher here. It's really fun to watch everybody learn through their mistakes to create really nice projects. Btw nice job! A+

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

This was really easy to make. Just four separate pieces glued together. You can tell our shop didn't have the sharpest bandsaw. Burnt cuts.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Aww, yeah. I seem to remember that mine were mostly bird houses and pottery, though. My mom still uses some of my attempts as flower pots.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

This reminds me of the Massive Dynamics logo, anyone else?

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

GET N OR GET OUT

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I carved a bowl out of solid wood. I spent days on it. My dad made fun of it because it wasn't perfectly even.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

ARE YOU INSANE!? DON'T SHOW THAT ONLINE OR THE BIG N WILL BURN DOWN YOUR HOUSE, SALT THE GROUNDS AND ERASE YOUR NAME FROM ALL DOCUMENTATION!

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

You have a very hairy hand.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

You're holding it upside down.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Barely anyone commenting about it being an N64 logo haha. This is cool!

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Bear in mind that the N64 is old enough to be in college now. Most modern posters might not recognize the logo at all. Which is sad.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

In a couple months, N64 will legally be able to drink.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

ARE THOSE BOXED N64 GAMES IN THE BACKGROUND? Cmon people ask the real questions.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yes, yes they are.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I appreciate you taking the time to make sure. Thanks.

Old school method of 3D printing the N64 logo

9 years ago | Likes 89 Dislikes 1

I 3D printed one. Best desk decoration/paper weight ever.

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Can we see it ? :D

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

9 years ago | Likes 53 Dislikes 4

Paint it black!

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 3

I agree, paint it with the actual colors in the correct spots but lightly, enough to see the wood

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

maryo paint it

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Nah leave iy like it is. Looks great by itself

9 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 1

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

9 years ago | Likes 20 Dislikes 2

"Why should I make it look better?" is what you're asking.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 3

Kinda reminds me of this

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

I don't see the resemblance.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Don't paint, MAYBE lacquer if you don't care about keeping it in its original form.

9 years ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 0

I didn't do the greatest job on it. "Some burnt cuts" It's nice oak though so I'll keep it as is.

9 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

I made the nicest little box, tongue and groove, sanded it for days. My dad used it for weed.

9 years ago | Likes 675 Dislikes 7

All I read was, "little box"... and "tongue".

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

My daughter, 12, has just started her first year of woodwork. I look forward to keeping my weed in something she made.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I made my grandma a cup in elementary school and she made it an ashtray. She still uses it though 15+ years later.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

9 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

I mean, it sounds like weed boxes are a stoner's pride, so maybe it's a good thing?

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Guys- thank you all for telling me how important your weed box is. Seriously brought tears to me eyes knowing my Dad must have liked it.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

In all honestly, he probably cherished that thing.

9 years ago | Likes 160 Dislikes 1

I hope so!

That scene hit me hard, it humanized him from just a meth head to me

The highest of honors, if you know what I mean

9 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Breaking bad reference?

9 years ago | Likes 22 Dislikes 0

The Hot Chick

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

No, real life

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

He made it for himself and traded it for weed in the show

9 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 0

Ah, ok.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

"You can put your weed in there"

9 years ago | Likes 227 Dislikes 1

This comment HAD to happen! +1

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Aw yuss

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Most people don't know this, but you can totally put your weed here.

9 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

"Stop playin' those damn drums!" "You can hear that?"

9 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

That's a Rob Schneider movie quote right!? Tommy Chong?

9 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Rob Schneider on SNL originally, and Adam Sandler in The Hot Chick

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Adam Sandler said it in The Hot Chick

9 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

Rob Schneider in The Hot Chick I think

9 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 3

That is correct. I love this quote haha

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 2

Incorrect. Rob Schneider starred in The Hot Chick but Adam Sandler said this line

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Never knew what was in it until after he died. Funny as hell now.

9 years ago | Likes 85 Dislikes 3

Did you smoke his weed after the funeral? That'd be kinda poetic in a way.

9 years ago | Likes 45 Dislikes 1

It was the first time I got high & learned to roll a blunt, with my older brother.

9 years ago | Likes 58 Dislikes 0

I'm not crying, my eyes are just red from 3 blunts.

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Perfect. Few years after my grandpas death, I found his pipe. I don't really smoke, but then I just felt like I had to. Onions were present.

9 years ago | Likes 30 Dislikes 0

Anyone else remember Shop class?

9 years ago | Likes 270 Dislikes 3

Yeah, I called it "screwing around in the garage"

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

We made napkin holders and rubber band race cars that we raced at the end. Mine won :)

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yeah, I called it "screwing around in the garage"

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

I took one when I was a senior in 2015

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I did, woodwork and metalwork in highschool - and I'm a 19 year old female, lmao.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

i took it twice, made my mom a coffee table

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Currently taking it. I've built a cornhole set, building a chair right now, and I've built a small house.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I made a shitty clock.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

We have a vocational school to take elective courses at. I make my living thanks to auto tech and welding. Every school system needs one.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Loved shop. Took Wood Working, Metal Work, and Material Processing. Was friends with the tech teachers and would sit in other classes too.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Im a highschool senior and have a 2million $ shop plus a cadd room thats another 70-100k

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yep. I remember building co2 cartridge powered wooden cars they were cool.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Only class i showed up for. Shop and welding.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Currently taking it. I've built a cornhole set, building a chair right now, and I've built a small house.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I made a gumball machine!

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Hey I made one of those too! Used it for Astro candies

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I was in the last class, teacher had a heart attack and retired.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I had metal shop. No wood shop at my hs.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I learned to use a lathe. It was scary at first, but so relaxing. I also ONCEgot yelled at because my dumb ass forgot to take my hoodie off

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Im still in it

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

yeah from like 2 years ago when i was in high school...

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

He'll yeah! Made a fantastic end table with slightly mismatching legs!

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I took it the year before it got budget cut away in our school.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

We still got it here in Canada; well, Ottawa, at least. I made a box; it was munty and lopsided, but it was a box nonetheless.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Had wood and metal shop for 6 weeks apiece in 6th grade. Didn't particularly enjoy em but now I'm glad I had to rivet something once

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I made a birdhouse, and kept all my fingers. Raging success considering my level of coordination.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I remember a girl sanding her fingertips off in the belt sander.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yes, but mostly because I was the kid that sawed off most of her finger and had to be rushed to the hospital...Fucking dope ass marble game.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

My school didn't have shop. I missed out on a whole lot of fun

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Anyone have a shop teacher NOT missing at least part of a finger?

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

My shop teach was the classic one you'd hear about, missing fingers and all.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Was chiselling wood once, ended up hitting below thumb. Was so sharp didn't even feel it, lucky I didn't hit a nerve. Went in about 0.5-1cm

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Still have faint scar, now about 15 years later. My class had plenty of idiots, mostly behaved as wood/metal working was privilege of class.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I remember getting a fucking F on a project because my freaking egg cracked in the car I built to protect it. Not that I'm still bitter.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

i member!

9 years ago | Likes 23 Dislikes 0

Ooooh I member

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I wish my school had that, they had to take it out bc of budget cuts :/

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I fucking wish I had shop class

9 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

I remember. In my senior year ('01) I made a park bench. I found some pictures of my childhood house the other day - it's still in the yard.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Pepperidge farm remembers.

9 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 1

Mr. Gonzalez was actually missing a thumb. (unrelated to wood working but relevant)

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I really miss it. Good times with good peeps. Woodn't trade it for anything.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I was about to post is there shop class anymore - been a LONG time since school for me

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

Depends on school/district, some ditched it for budget cuts :/

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yep, Still have shop teachers missing two halves of a finger.

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

I actually took mine in middle school. I know they did away w it and I know the high school still has welding but no wood shop

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

In my experience, not in high school/primary school level but it is available on the university level

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I member. Built flower pot hangers and magazine stands and catapults. Good times

9 years ago | Likes 51 Dislikes 0

And toolboxes and rubberband guns

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Ooh ooh I member!

9 years ago | Likes 22 Dislikes 0

Anyone member soda machines at every corner??

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Instead of a catapult, you should have made a trebuchet

9 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 0

I made a trebuchet in shop class

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I made a trebuchet in my physics class

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

My always taught me about tools at a young age. Wouldn't let me take shop because he said I'd use it for a blow-off class.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Dad* dammit

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Home school here, we built outbuildings and a pantry and finished out the basement for our shop class. Fun times!

9 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 1

My homeschooled 8 year old learned to frame a room, hang drywall, run plumbing/electricity & install ceramic tile. (Put in a 1// bath)

9 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

Nice. I also learned why you don't lift a board off a running tablesaw and how to butterfly a wound closed. No regrets, first aid is useful!

9 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

He should be 3ding and whatever else was said.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Good ol' cheap and reliable child labour.

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

I am a shop teacher!

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Do you have all you fingers?

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

yup...besides, don't they grow back? That's what I tell my students!

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I've been a carpenter for 28 years and still have all mine. I know many that don't.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I had "Introduction to technology", "Intro to wood", "Furniture A" and "Furniture B". The prior year our school use to have metal working.

9 years ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 0

Found out the room for health class in my middle school used to be a motor pool...

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

So your teacher introduced you to some wood, eh? ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Did you go to high school in the burbs of Chicago? Cause that exact thing happened to my school. We had this huge metal shop but no classes.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

My old highschool still has both those courses

9 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

Where the hell are you. Get them to modernize. No child, the new way of math, etc, etc. Bet you guys still hunt too.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

My highschool has woodwork still and the old shop teacher was a relatively famous guitar maker

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

When I was a senior the shop teacher was no longer there. Apparently he didn't tell anyone he had cancer. RIP Mr. Straylo
