A funny little article to cheer people up

TLDR: Babies born the natural way get beneficial gut microbes from their mother. Babies born by c-section miss out on this, which can lead to various immune disorders. This article is about new research showing that mixing a bit of the mother's poo into milk for the baby can grant them these beneficial microbes. Still a very new technique, though, and nobody should be trying this at home.

We know that poop infusions do this. I guess it's just been put to paper for babies?

I’m kinda glad I didn’t know about this when I had the C-section for my twins. I was told the colostrum in my “preemie milk” was good for their immune systems.

Yeah... I could totally see this becoming the new pee drinking or antivax movement. Maybe this needed more thoughtful way to be brought up. Trying to put emphasis on medical nature and how focus is not in the excrement but gut microbes.. :P

… and they had no idea what microdose is.

What about simply add a little bit of mixed cultured probiotics to the milk? Or maybe the fact that it's specifically the mother's bioma maker it better for the baby?

Oh, mea culpa. The point is already covered on the very last paragraph of the article.

Ah, I remember hearing about the microbe deficiency a few years ago - nice to see that they're finally getting closer to solving this issue. Even if I don't find the idea of a poo milkshake very appealing lol!
