Included letter

My wife, a teacher with a library media degree, received a huge package in the mail claiming to be from a Library Association of which she is a member. Turns out it's just a Scientology recruitment scheme to get people interested in the "works" of L. Ron Hubbard. Very timely considering the movie that has been hyped up lately.

This package was heavy!

I can't believe how many books are in here...

The "spoils"

No clue what we're going to do with all of these. Probably rip off the covers and toss them in the recycling.

Questionnaire for the teacher

Questionnaire for the kids

This is the heart of the scheme. Get kids to fill out the form for feedback, give the address, and then start easing them into Scientology. Gotta get their address while they're young!

You know what, I actually enjoyed some of his fiction work. Dude's batshit crazy, but his writing's not bad.

Ship it back with a simple note that says, "No thank you".

For a second I misread Galaxy Press as Galaxy Quest. Which is still more believable than anything that weirdo wrote.

Don't get me wrong, I agree the dude's insane, but what's so bad about getting kids to read?

No one has to fill out the feedback yet alone send it back! I mean it's a book, teach them to be critical of what they read...like any news

(also fill out the name and address of the school for any questionnaire)

In his defense his Sci-fi writings were pretty good.

It's funny how that is something people understand but when I say the same thing about Orson Scott Card people say it's not important.

Plenty of decent authors are nutty. I blame the ones that listened and didn't think "Man, that's kind of nuts."
