If it takes a pretty girl in thigh-highs to get this shit through people's skulls, so be it. It's a sacrifice I'm willing to make. For the good of the nation.

That was a whole lot to digest at once.

I'd happily watch a TED talk on any subject she cares to present.

Careful, you're going to knit your hair right into that scarf.

The other crazy thing we all need to remember is if we ever get back to “normal” is that there were still a lot of police officers abusing their authority. Crazy times we live in.

She looks like Molly C Quinn with different hair.

I can totally see it.

I completely agree, especially as they move closer to my home and loved ones.... I also like the "hair" puffs

Great Message. But, to be honest, difficult to watch/listen to SUCH a Cutie. Sorry, but it's true.

Yet ... they let them do it... and nothing is done about it...

Correction, police do not always have to disengage a chase if it is a danger to the public. Being a danger, makes it more likely that they will ramp it up, using pit tactics and spike straps, or other advanced stopping techniques. It is even said that they are too eager to perform this stuff, even if a person is not an active threat and they need to reign it in.

But in terms of ICE, they absolutely do not have that power and should not be on the streets. They are a gestapo only right now.

A lot of jurisdictions have rules (and even laws) in place saying they *do* have to disengage, but, like you pointed out, it rarely actually stops them. Just recently we had a cop near here in Tampa (which *does* have regulations in place stating officers need to disengage if a chase becomes potentially dangerous) chased a car down a narrow, one way street in the middle of downtown at 3x the speed limit, causing it to crash into a crowded bar, for basically no reason other than they wanted to /1

live out their action movie fantasies. There was already a copter also tracking the car, and the plates had been run, so there was no reason to keep chasing them, especially in one of the biggest pedestrian areas of the city during one of the busiest times of night.

Yeah I know that crash, im in the Tampa area too. Utter bullshit as well. Qualified immunity is what needs to be stripped if the break their own rules.

"but it could be!"

I said this to a Magat at work. ‘Criminal’ and ‘Illegal’ are two different things. That’s why we have both words to describe things. Casually using them interchangeably is where your entire argument erodes.

Perhaps you could tell them this, it'll be far more useful

I suppose he muttered something about pronouns and stalked off thinking he won the argument?

i think you got this backwards. I know people are going to flame me for saying this

4 weeks ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 37

People are only going to flame you because you're wrong, though.

Facts don't care about your feelings.

He’s right though. It’s a misdemeanor. Being an undocumented immigrant in the US is a misdemeanor.

Misdemeanors can be criminal too like petty theft. Illegally entering the country is a civil matter though, not a criminal one.

This. The vast number of illegal aliens are here by entering legally (ie tourist visa) and overstaying the visa. With that most illegal alians are here via airports and not crossing the southern boarder.

They're even using the fact that it's only a civil offense to their advantage, since it's one of the main arguments the admin has been using to deny legal council (since the right to an attorney is only for a criminal offense, not a civil one).

Shockingly, most jay walkers don't end up in third world jails. I mean, so far.
