I love a lot of Asian foods. Unfortunately I can’t really have them. No soy, no nuts, no citrus, no caffeine. They give me migraines. I miss peanut butter.
Interesting how it's always just young attractive women working on all these shops you see online isn't it. (as someone who visits Japan pretty regularl: the vast majority of cooks are men. these types of videos are staged).
I loved every minute of my japan tour. The people, the food.... absolutely fantastic. I could go there again and again a zillion times. thankyou japan . Please stay the same forever
You wouldn't even have to go far, either. There are entire shopping districts and arcade streets where it's nothing but rows of affordable restaurants. Just be sure to watch your sodium intake as much as your budget.
Oh for sure. We went last year and got out from the convenience stores with snacks and 2 beers for under $10. I couldn't believe how cheap the food was in some cases.
I lived there in the 90s and visited last year. Food prices haven't changed in 30 years but the USD is ~1.25X stronger so prices are ~80% that of 90s prices for tourists.
One of the big reasons I'm going to Japan a second time next year is the food. The other is the organization of public transport and activities; everything works perfectly, everything is well thought, and everyone follows the well built rules, so the systems work flawlessly. A magnificent experience for anyone with a bit of ocd :D.
Trivial. Get internet connection to use Google maps to move around, and a translator on your phone to read stuff like menus or road signs at older locations.
In the service industry in the big cities, yes. Otherwise no. If you leave the beaten path, prepare to communicate by pointing at stuff in maps or showing translations on your phone.
I think this one is a good balance as shot, but not with the imgur post title. This looks like it's from one of several popular youtube channels that shows the restaurant, one or two of the workers, and them preparing stuff from the menu. I particularly love Japanese Food Craftsman or UdonSoba's channel where it shows Japanese food stalls filled with all sort of cooks making the meal. And of course being young and attractive is a selling point also. I agree with you though if based on title.

I have not taken a food tour, but I did go to Japan. I will say there were dishes that haunt my taste buds.

They got us hyped up on big macs and then ramped up the fees. Motherfuckers.

But don't worry, after increasing their prices 100% over the last 6 years, they're releasing a new product! Hooray!

Wok huei means fire breath, or breath of the wok. It’s not a spit on the cock thing.

I too thought they were focusing a little bit more on the young lady than the food. “Sex sells” and it’s been going on for millennia!
