Almost two hours of two nice, intelligent and sharp people talking. Very well worth a watch/listen.

I was explaining to a colleague that "the main reason they blame DEI is because that's the ONLY system they have ever known. They've always had unqualified friends, or friends of friends, getting good jobs because they knew someone. They believe that no minority is actually qualified, because most of them have never been actually qualified. They were allowed to learn on the job."

He thought about it for a second and went "That makes so much sense."

Pretty much everything with either one of them is worth checking out. Two smart motherfuckers.

I feel this. I’ve had to do a lot of “emotional reckoning” in my adulthood. Feel betrayed. And I can only blame myself

It's why they hate LGBTQIA people too, especially gay men, especially trans women, ESPECIALLY white trans women, because LGBTQIA people show them a truth they are too terrified to accept - that white people are not superior, that white men do not conform to their idea of superiority, that a person whom they see as a white man, can stand up in public, as proud as a rainbow and say no. THIS is whom I am.
The same is true for interracial relationships. It's why their worst slur is 'cuck'

Now imagine how helpless and impotent Elon Musk feels knowing his child is transgender. Imagine how dangerous that makes him too, with this wounded pride and festering ego. He has to fall back on the excuse of a 'woke mind virus', because it's the only way he can escape the nagging truth in his brain - that when his child is seen to be openly trans then what will that make people think about him?
What if she finds a black lover?
The fear of that must be burning out his little apartheid mind.

Who ever is in charge seems to always blame some other group for any misfortunes. "Yeah, that Mexican (or whatever group is targeted) has stolen your job!" Get them to hate each other, that's the way. That's the Trump way! (Every Trump speech is a damned HATE speech).

Just saying, but this has been a GOP strategy for far longer than Trump has been in office.

When you’ve grown accustomed to privilege, equality feels like persecution.

What Noah also says is that it goes both ways, which is important to remember. When you are accustomed to being persecuted, that is the state of normal. Therein lies part of the reason why certain people or groups act against their own (by others) percieved interest.
