This is a guitar I bought 2nd hand from a used intrument store. The local shop keeper had spray painted "Gibson" onto the head. After buying it I did research and found out that it isn't. I think it is an Epiphone gothic explorer judging by the "XII" on the twelfth fret. But recently my bud who knows more about than I do... Said it isn't since his explorer is not as "pointy" as his epiphone explorer. So I am wondering if anyone can help shed some light onto this. Thanks

Is there a serial number anywhere? Active pickups?
MetalCakeVillain
Know where I would look for a serial number?

Sometimes it's where the truss rod sits on the headstock, sometimes it's in the battery housing for the pickups.
