When life gives me lemons, I wash them, slice them and freeze them - and boom! I get lemon cubes for whenever I want a drink with ice cold lemons. Tastes great.

My english friends always look at me weird whenever lemons are mentioned because i had an icedtea with a slice once and first ate the juicy part and then the skin too

I had the same shock when in the US and somebody was talking about serving cider at a kid's party - in Britain, Cider is alcoholic (usually about 4-8% ABV but you can get stronger). It's as strong as beer but cheaper and is favoured by discerning tramps and hobos

Why would you eat the peel‽‽ I'll squeeze a lemon slice into my sweet tea, eat the fleshy bit that's left and then the peel is trash after that. Or do you mean you ate the pith, the white bit between the juicy flesh and the peel?

The entire thing. I like the slightly sweet bittery taste. Always liked strong intrusive flavors

#7 appears to be some sort of fingered citron variant

It's a standard lemon affected by citrus bud mites. But they can look similar to a buddhas hand variant.

When life gives you lemons, make chocolate milk and eave everyone wondering how the FUCK you pulled it off.

2 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

With enough steps, that might just be possible. Like, I saw one video that was about turning styrofoam into cinnamon candy, since the styrene units making up the polystryene are only a few steps away from cinnamaldehyde, the compound responsible for cinnamon's particular flavor.

Man, back when I was in college I saw this guy eat an entire lemon like it was an apple while a bunch of us were playing Magic: The Gathering in the common area. Rind and all. No sour face or anything. <.<

Guy I played MTG with in college would drink straight vinegar.

And before anyone comments, we checked and it wasn't alcohol.

That guy is a fucking psychopath.

Citrus is toxic to cats. Enough exposure can damage their nervous systems. Do not do this shit to your cat…

They also hate even the smell of lemons, so having a lemon helmet (that sounds so dirty) is really unpleasant for them.

Also not good for most other animals. Humans (and I think other primates) are weird because our bodies don't produce vitamin c (ascorbic acid) so we get it from acidic fruits. It's why we enjoy the taste of sour to a certain degree while most others are repulsed by it.

#6 What a huge letdown that would be. "Here's your coffee." "This is Coke!"

When life gives you lemons, be glad it wasn't syphilis.

Being a hybrid doesn't mean it was made by people. There are lots of naturally occurring hybrids, including some citrus fruits.

#6 A bar near me serves house made lemonade, but they also have a hard version of it, which I didn't originally know. Well one day during the summer I had been out biking for about 4 hours & decided to stop in there to cool off & get something to drink. Because I'm a semi regular they assumed I wanted the hard version. Now it was good, but it came in a pint glass and I finished it in under 30 seconds, so it hit me like a truck.

#1 Citrus fruits have a few toxins for dogs & the acidity can damage their intestinal lining. Please don't do this.

#6 Sprite is lemon lime, it's definitely not lemonade.

2 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

In Europe, ordering "lemonade" will often get you Sprite or some Sprite analog they call "lemonade" for ... I dunno ... reasons....

2 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

The actual reason is that in some European languages, the equivalent of "lemonade" just means "soda". Or "pop". Or "coke". It's not like the English language has a single word for soft drinks either.

2 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 2

Lemonade as the lemon-juice-and-sugar-in-water type isn't really a thing in the UK. The suffix 'ade' works as 'soda' in a lot of contexts too i.e orange soda is 'orangeade' here. You can commonly get limeade & cherryade too. So lemonade is essentially lemon soda, rather than the still cloudy drink the US is used to.

Thanks for the explanation. In Canada here, ordering "Iced Tea" will usually get you a drink made from a sweetened, powdered mix ( almost, but not quite, entirely unlike tea) . Down in the US, it will get you brewed tea, served over ice, unsweetened. Unless you are in the Southern US where you can also have "Sweet Tea".
Last time I was in the UK, "iced tea", like "drip coffee" was a rarity. Always fun to compare notes.

When life gives you lemons, don't make lemonade - make life take the lemons back! Get mad! I don't want your damn lemons, what am I supposed to do with these? Demand to see life's manager. Make life rue the day it thought it could give Cave Johnson lemons. Do you know who I am? I'm the man who's gonna burn your house down! With the lemons. I'm going to get my engineers to invent a combustible lemon that burns your house down!
