A circus.

You could do that in America with just a few hundred dollars and make a killing marketing it to people without a few hundred dollars.

Fuuuuuck that. Everything having to be a fucking competition is just too end stage capitalism for me. Justs give them their fucking bonuses.

1 million yuan is about $146,000 USD. So the employees (almost everyone) who didn't get the big bonuses got approximately $438 US dollars each (3000 yuan according to the video).

That night. Total bonus amount awarded was $180 million Yuan, according to the linked article. So maybe around $1,000 U.S. each plus whatever amount they got at the banquet/party. Not too shabby, considering.

This is how you boss, but I wouldn't make it a SoMe event. I think rather I'd make a type of potato cannon and fire wads of millions at people when they come through the door with their morning coffee. But that's just me.

This is definitely not how you boss, you pay people appropriately and don't exploit your workers, because those employers invited to grab some money are almost certainly not the factory workers. But really this is just a PR stunt because in the last year there were a ton of factories that hadn't been paying their workers for months, so much so that some have burned factories down. So everything about this screams that something is seriously wrong. https://youtu.be/9-Or6NpgOLA

Meanwhile, my company wants to set goals that include extra projects in order to receive a bonus. I told my manager that amounts to just getting paid for doing extra work and they could keep their bonus. I'm already overworked and underpaid, I don't have the time or interest to do extra credit.

Maybe getting paid for the extra work. Company could decide there's not much money for bonuses this year.

Nah, we clear billions. They change up the bonus criteria every couple years. Other companies I worked for it was purely profit sharing. The better we did, the bigger the bonus. This company, it's always something new and there's always an excuse as to why we made record profits but didn't hit "our goals."

Not sure why the downvote. Maybe I should have put more emphasis on the MAYBE. You just ponited out that the company plays games with the bonus structure regardless of actual profits.
