He was my next door neighbor in Dallas before he became governor (in Preston hollow for those dallasites reading this) So maybe that's why I'm biased/a huge W fan. but when I see this kinda stuff I can't help but smile. He might not have been your favorite president in terms of policy (even I don't agree with everything he did, despite my rose tinted glasses). But I gotta respect this kinda stuff. Just wanted to share this on Veterans Day and I hope BHO starts doing this kinda patriotic AF stuff come Feb 2017z

I don't mind the downvotes on this, I got plenty of upvotes in the bank.

Such a bad president and such a great man, I will never make sense of it. Just a manipulative cabinet I suppose.

I may have disagreed with his policies and staff, but I deeply respect his ability to recognize and own the consequences of those decisions.

Just like hitler. In painting i mean.

W. 2020!

9 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 2

Eh it'll be P 2028. George P. bush is very young and is the Texas land commissioner and is going to be governor soon. Then potus.

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Wow, he's gotten pretty good at painting too.

9 years ago | Likes 61 Dislikes 2

I wish he had just stuck to that, tbh.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

I mean it's great and all that he does this...... but if it wasn't for him then they wouldn't have to be wounded servicemen and women

9 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 6

Amazing guy. Always went out of his way to say hi to us and thank us when we were on post at Camp David.

9 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 1

It really shocks me how little Americans seem to care that Bush is a war criminal. Hundreds of thousands of people are dead because of him.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

He asked to meet my friends, who had lost their son in Iraq. He hugged them & cried with them. I thought that was incredible.

9 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

I'm sure the families of hundreds of thousands of civilians killed in Iraq and Afghanistan will change their opinion on him ... Hypocrites.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

good guy, not so much a good president

9 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 13

Op is loaded.

9 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

Am a recent college grad that doesn't talk to his wealthy parents anymore so no. OPs parents/dad is loaded.

9 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 2

Fair point.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

I disagreed with many of Bush's policies but he served his country well and was worthy of the office of President.

9 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 1

+1

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Holy shit he's really good! (AKA better than me)

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I loved the guy's humor. But thank god he's not in power anymore!

9 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 15

Honestly, I'd take him over Trump. Then again, I'd take a pile of rocks over Trump.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Just a reminder, this guy said that God wanted him to wage war in Iraq... so... yeah, let's not forget that.

9 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 8

He is what you get when you elect a "good guy". He was a nice friendly guy, who was easily used as a face to hide the evil of the gop.

9 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 17

Can we not call the side you disagree with evil? I'm a proud Conservative, I do not think Liberals are evil.

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 2

GOP isnt evil. Corruption of either sides ideals are bad but the GOPs occasional corruption/misunderstanding are more often in the spotlight

9 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 3

Always liked the guy. Hated the way he was denigrated. Same with President Obama. During their tenures they've been "my President".

9 years ago | Likes 141 Dislikes 10

I would certainly say he made some wrong decisions that hurt us. Doesn't mean he's a bad person. Means he wasn't a good president.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

He does seem genuinely nice. The trouble is he wasn't much interested in policy, and delegated it to lots of not-very-nice people.

9 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

The only one that gets me is the "Bush did 9/11" jokes. I think about his reaction when reading them....

9 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 4

Ohhh that makes me sad now

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

Yeah sorry. :(

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Its a tough job that hardly gets any praise, where every decision is a wrong one to millions. GWB and BO did what they thought was right

9 years ago | Likes 51 Dislikes 4

No no no no no. You can't think logically. Let the rage fill you.

9 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 3

I mean, he really wasn't the problem. He just happened to be electable, controllable and (most importantly) younger than Dick Cheney.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

+1 for Dubya and Preston Hollow

Northwood was my street! Two streets south of park lane! I grew up running around that area all the time!

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Wow! I live on Lupton!

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

No one thinks bush is a bad guy, we just think he was easily manipulated by his Vice President and Board.

9 years ago | Likes 46 Dislikes 6

This x1000

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Except for all those folks who think he set up 9/11

9 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

Yes. All five of them.

9 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

Also, Zoom-in: The object resembling a folded Tarp (floor corner) is actually the "Mission Accomplished" banner

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

I think he was a bad president who truly cared and tried but chose a horrible running mate PS just found out Cheney did fracking

9 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 2

Sorry that last bit was poorly worded Cheney might have been the one to get fracking the ok and stop the EPA from being able to investigate

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

And Trump is all about it, so that's cool too.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Bush dealt with the same thing Obama did - a congress that was of the opposite party/

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

His woes didn't come from Congress, it came from either corrupt or ignorant cabinet members ontop of his own lovable but blatant ignorance..

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

He was also blamed for the economic crisis that Clinton created :v

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

well Clinton and the Republican house & senate did NAFTA and rolled back housing regulations... Jr. went even further over 8 years...

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Bush was not the problem, Rumsfeld was.

9 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 5

Cheney didn't help, to be fair.

9 years ago | Likes 19 Dislikes 2

Really his entire cabinet... That poor lovable goof just hired the wrong people to run a country with...

9 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 2

Or those people propped him up to be president.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

This is part of what is most concerning to me about Trump. Gingrich as SOS and a climate denier as head of EPA? Still, it's wait and see...

9 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 2

Don't forget Ben Carson in the talks for Secretary of Education.. the guy who thinks Joseph built the great pyramids to keep grain in.

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

I respect the hell out of that comment "who were injured carrying my orders"

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yea. I served under him, in his war. Brought tears when I read it. I hated him, still bitter. That has changed my mind about him.

9 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

Same. It shows how much the past has had an effect on him. 8+ years latter it still weighs on him.

9 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

Same

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Like many, I hated the guy. But this is one of the single most human things I've ever seen from an ex leader. What a powerful gesture.

9 years ago | Likes 198 Dislikes 3

I didn't hate the guy just his policy.

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

I agree entirely, but 140 characters wouldn't let me express as much.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Looking at his caption makes me think he has regrets and this is how he's finding peace.

9 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 1

I don't think Bush himself was terrible. He seemed to genuinely care about the issues, but his VP and advisors were terrible.

9 years ago | Likes 28 Dislikes 0

Hindsight is 20/20. I'm sure he realized what he could have done better and us trying to do his best now to make up for it

9 years ago | Likes 33 Dislikes 2

Apparently most people seem to agree on this point, he is a bad politician but an excellent person

9 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

I work in Preston Hollow and have seen Bush on some bike rides nearby! He's VERY friendly!

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Nice! It's a great neighborhood!

Honestly if I ever make it big, I'd love to raise a family in that area but it's now so dang expensive...

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yup! Very safe and family oriented...with the exception of the homeless guy living behind my store...

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0
