MRW I'm able to get a sort-of last minute ticket to Endgame

I was in tears... I was laughing that hard!

It was awesome but not the best. A little overboard on the comedy. Ironman 1 had perfect amount serious and comedy.

Another day, another Doug.

Goodbye, new Doug.

8 years ago | Likes 32 Dislikes 0

It felt too much like a GotG movie. But it was really good.

8 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 2

You have to hand it to them for some good timely humor

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Why are you handing me the melty stick? That wasn’t a capital offense...

8 years ago | Likes 60 Dislikes 1

I'll call it a tie.

8 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

Was one of my favorite monologues from the film. The rebellion tie bit.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

I saw an interview where Hemsworth explained the "I know him from work"line. It was added cuz a Make-A-Wish kid came up with it while on set

8 years ago | Likes 61 Dislikes 0

I dunno it was too funny, a whole lot of people died and they are joking? Thor does not care that his father/sister/most of his people die.

8 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 1

I loved it but I hate how scared they are of making any scene badass. It's always undercut with a stupid joke

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 1

Thank you! Yes! THIS!! I'm so sick of the comedic tones that don't fit characters. Guardians is appropriate.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

There'll be no strings to bind your hands Not if my love can't bind your heart

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That's not a marvel studios film though.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

I feel Deadpool was better than Thor Ragnarok mainly because it was funny while sticking to the characters.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

fuck yeah

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 2

Haha this looks like something out of Lollipop Chainsaw

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Not MCU, that's FOX.

8 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

Yeees!!! Woooo now you know how it feels!!!

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Unpopular opinion: I prefer the old Norse stories of Thor, and the Norse story of Ragnorak more than Marvel's version.

8 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 1

The comics are so much better. Humour does not fit Norse Gods. It should be dark, serious and gritty.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That's your opinion. I find lots of brutal humor in the old stories.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Of course it is my opinion. I cannot post somebody else's opinion. That is just what I like.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I just mean I respect your opinion.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

:D Brutal humour is cool, of course. I do not enjoy Marvel's campy humour.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It is a good movie, but I don't think it's Marvel's best work to date. Ragnarok had more comedy than it should've had.

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

I'm sure I'll get some hate for this but Ragnarok had a little too much comedy imo. Some of it was unnecessary. I saw some of it coming too.

8 years ago | Likes 19 Dislikes 3

Way too much. The first Thor movie had bearable amounts of jokes.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The amount/type of comedy makes it less enjoyable to watch after about 2 or 3 times

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Amazing. Like on big music video.

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

major plot holes and mocking/destroying the last two movies in order to make Thor a humor character rather than a Shakespearean one. donno.

8 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 3

This guy stole the show imo

8 years ago | Likes 75 Dislikes 1

There's always a Doug

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Browse around, there are some good ones out there.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

How are people saying this was a great movie? It was a great movie if you wanted to watch a comedy, that's it. It was just non stop yuk

8 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 5

I never thought I would like to associate with napalmEnema, but I do. Thank you for point all this out. I'm sick of the comedy.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

yuk and had so little / any serious elements it was just flat out stupid. What happened to making a semi serious super hero movie with

8 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 4

some humor in it, in some parts, but this was just like Naked Gun Marvel edition. It was completely absurd and idiotic. What a waste

8 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 4

It was SO BAD this is the first time I've bothered to ever comment on anything on Imgur. That's some new level of bad. Extra mega bad.

8 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 4

In this film, he reveals he broke up with his GF, father dies, and his home is destroyed, and lets make it a comedy.

8 years ago | Likes 28 Dislikes 0

but it works.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

I enjoyed the hell out of it but I wish it wasn't almost entirely a comedy, could have truly been an epic.

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

I had like, 5 too many jokes. Just that close to pulling off the perfect dramedy.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

It felt so definitive. Lost his girl, eye, hammer, home, and father

8 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

Let's not forget his friends (wariors three) all went out like cheap plot fodder

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Yeah wtffffff

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Gallows humor.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Is Thor the god of America now?

8 years ago | Likes 23 Dislikes 5

No just of the box office

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

No, he's the God of Hammers

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

8 years ago | Likes 30 Dislikes 0

I just assume people who claim the newest comicbook movie is the best ever are still in hype mode and can't be trusted

8 years ago | Likes 44 Dislikes 5

Ragnarok is damn good but it very much does have obvious problems.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Depends what you want, if you enjoyed Guardians you will love this, if you wanted an epic Thor movie you will feel they could have done more

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It's definitely not the best Marvel offering. Avengers 1 is untouched. Thor:R's humour wore on really quick. Too much of a good thing.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Best Thor movie? Maybe. I wish there was more Asgard. Some characters were mishandled. I'd say it's on par with Ant-Man, but less wit.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I can definitely see it staying up there for some. It's top 5 for me for sure.

8 years ago | Likes 20 Dislikes 0

I'm torn, because while I loved it, I wasn't thrilled at the deviation from the more serious tone in the previous Thor movies.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

It's a far cry from the Ragnarok run of the comics too, to the lament of every comic nerd out there. Good movie in its own right though

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

A Brit here where we've had a tad longer to ruminate on it. It's not perfect but in my top five definitely.

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

I'd say it's the best Thor movie, at least.

8 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

Oh 100% without a doubt.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That's a pretty low bar though. For me at least

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Agreed.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The movie was really funny, really really funny. Don't know if I wanted a superhero movie to be that funny.

8 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 2

Eh superhero movies shouldn't be too serious IMO. It is hard to take a movie seriously when characters can survive everything.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Maybe that's why I felt this one should have been more serious, the whole point of Ragnarok is to show they CANT survive everything

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Korg stole the scene tho. What a character...

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

I dislike that they seem utterly obsessed with just rehashing guardians comedy over and over, I find Thor to be way too comedic now

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 2

Never liked the character itself, never read a comic as well, not gonna lie, I might be wrong but I find Thor as boring as Captain America >

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

His comics were great, mix LoTR with Star Wars. They never really captured that in the movies unfortunately.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

That's what I thought. I'm curious to see what's gonna happen to Justice League. Love sups n Bats... Wonder Woman was great

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

And it was just plain funny. Super funny... Can't wait for Infinity War so the new phase starts, hopefully they will change the tone.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Given the past few movies (Rag, Homecoming, Guardians) were huge financial successes I doubt they will change that formula

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Best? No. Especially when you consider that it's run more like a guardians of the galaxy movie (which doesn't really jive with Thor)

8 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 4

Yes it does, yes it did. You are wrong.

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 12

I disagree. His previous movies were far more serious, and my understanding of him as a character is that he's not really a smartass.

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 1

And don't get me wrong, the end result was hilarious and fun. But it felt off as a third in the series.

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 1

In the first movie he drinks a coffee, smashes it on the ground heartily, and says ANOTHER!

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

That's the Thor he's always been.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

It's like they took the dynamic of this scene and turned it into a whole movie. And added Jeff Goldbloom

8 years ago | Likes 901 Dislikes 7

.... i mean, you're not wrong

8 years ago | Likes 40 Dislikes 0

Puny God.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Thor jumping on the dead army with that lightning eye power was the most badass scene for me in the whole Marvel.

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

So fun fact: The director had a plan to have hulk do the same to Loki towards the end of the movie but it was cut for some stupid reason.

8 years ago | Likes 29 Dislikes 0

Heard I️t will likely be in the dvd version!

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Hell yeah I can't wait!

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Damn, somebody make a 'Thor with a lightning eye' wallpaper for mobile.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Goldblum

8 years ago | Likes 21 Dislikes 1

Ass Guard?

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

8 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 0

The correct (and only) response.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

It's like a Thor movie with an Iron Man tone.

8 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 3

Iron Man is the worse of all the trilogies 2 and 3 were unwatchable more like planet hulk meets guardians and thor

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 25

Not to say your opinion is wrong...but it isn't right...

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

The Mandarin? Rourkes accent? Rockwell phoning it in? Pepper pots superhuman? Again not a single memorable villan?

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

I second this

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Suppose I have only watched random out-of-order MCU film through the years. Which ones would I need to watch to be up to speed for Ragnarok?

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I'm thinking Thor, The Avengers, and Thor: The Dark World. Is there anything else I should have seen before going in?

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

I mean, I'd recommend you also watch Captain America 1 and 2, but you don't need them for this

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Age of Ultron and maybe Doctor Strange too...

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Loki's reaction when it's revealed that Hulk is the beast is funnier than Thor's. Hiddleston steals every scene he's in.

8 years ago | Likes 283 Dislikes 1

"I need to get off this planet"

8 years ago | Likes 60 Dislikes 0

“I’VE BEEN FALLING FOR 30 MINUTES!”

8 years ago | Likes 40 Dislikes 0

THAT'S WHAT THAT FEELS LIKE!!!! *looks suspiciously at Goldblum*

8 years ago | Likes 134 Dislikes 0

That, and Banner jumping from the jet were the funniest parts in a very funny movie!

8 years ago | Likes 23 Dislikes 0

Honestly, everyone was expecting the most epic Hulk scene. And then he just flopped to the ground. He ded. Hahahahaha.

8 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

"Im uh...big fan of the sport!"

8 years ago | Likes 31 Dislikes 0

What I don't understand though is that Loki has been there for a week, how didn't he know before that moment? Prisoner till Thor showed up??

8 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

Loki also states that he hadn't seen the champion/fights.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

probably didn't watch the fight until Thor showed up or left after the first round

8 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

Probably but hulk was everyone's favorite, they even have parades for him. The hulk being a champion seems hard to miss on that planet

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

True. Maybe he just really wanted to block out all forms of hulk so never paid attention

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

8 years ago | Likes 19 Dislikes 0

And took guardians color scheme and realized their is no good Thor comic so they used planet hulk

8 years ago | Likes 119 Dislikes 9

No good Thor?! Dam man

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Have you read unworthy Thor? That shit was awesome

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I gave the character so many chances but he always worked better in supporting role. So it's hard to get back in

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Planet hulk is so fucking good, I have a copy signed by Greg Pak and it's one of my most prized possessions lol

8 years ago | Likes 30 Dislikes 0

I'm more DC reader but always had love for the hulk, the man running from himself. He is incredibly deep but sadly untapped in MCU

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Ik i hate it I NEED to see hulk beat the living SHIT out of everything

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Hes untaped because Universal owns the distribution rights to all Hulk solo movies, that and Namor's aswell untill next year i think

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Didn't know that, but still Everytime he has been in the MCU he has gotten dumber minus norton

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I honestly wished that they didn't show Hulk in the trailers. Seeing him burst out into the arena would have been so much better that way.

8 years ago | Likes 53 Dislikes 0

This more than any other movie I have seen, was damaged by the obscene number of trailers.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I remember thinking when the green smoke flares were going up, "this would be so much more exciting if I didn't know what's next."

8 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

Trailers always show way too much these days >:( esp superhero movies

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Marvel doesn't always know what should be kept out of their trailers. Like Giant-Man and "it's the wi-fi password."

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I never watch tv these days so I lucked out not knowing when I saw it last night :D

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I also saw it last night, and we were shown a trailer for the movie we were about to see... If I hadn't seen it already I'd be so pissed.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

What the ever loving fuck. I am so sorry.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I am glad at least one person got to experience this :)

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Me too ❤❤❤

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Banner jumping out of a plane.........the best.

8 years ago | Likes 426 Dislikes 5

I knew that was going to happen so it wasn't as funny to me.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 7

Yeah, I felt it coming too. They did that joke a few too many times - it was still pretty funny.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 2

I lost it at that part!

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

So like how did he come back to life and transform?? They did a closeup of his face and he looked incredibly not-alive.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Hulk probably just wanted to hurt Banner, once he was laying there Hulk probably emerged (they are two seperate beings)

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

That was soooo fucking funny

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Laughed my ass off during that part, as was most of the theater

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Hilarious!

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

There is a consensus that this was the best scene. It was inspired. I laughed until long after the scene finished.

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

*Splat*

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The biggest laugh of the film for me and everyone in my screening. Knew it was coming but the execution was so perfect.

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

I choked on air laughing at that part

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The entire theater burst into laughter when Thor threw the ball at the window and it ricochet and hit him in the face.

8 years ago | Likes 60 Dislikes 2

Because that's what heroes do!

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

My theatre burst into laughter almost nonstop...

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

The anticipation of seeing him turn into the hulk mid fall and Fuck up fenrir, and watching him slap the floor like a wet rag. So good

Spoilers

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 7

This entire post is spoilers. Like all the way down. I'd watch the movie before reading any of it.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Are you kidding, it was written in the sky that he wasn't going to transform. I was laughing in advance about the faceplant though

8 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 5

Saw it coming too and still loved it haha

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Oh no I agree. Everyone wanted him to change as it's a callback to the hulk film when he jumps from the chopper and doesn't change.

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

I was laughing so hard cuz I knew just with the pace of the film and scene that he was gonna beef it hard core.
