Gonna be a lot of cozy nests for birds

The fact it's not singing the song of its people is pretty amazing. Meanwhile, local wildlife appreciates your nest-making contributions.

The doggo looks so happy :)

Some birds are going to get a very cozy nest.

Make a wish!

Having had a husky, it doesn't matter how much you get out. There is ALWAYS more. Husky contains multitudes.

Everyone is talking about the birds thanking the dog...the dog should thank the human for such a great blow job.

I mean you can't stop a husky from shedding so you're fighting a losing battle.

Make a wish… bone!

Flonase

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

that feels soooooo good, and several neighborhood birds and squirrels are about to have fur carpeting in their nests

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

The birds in those trees are going to have nests better insulated than my house.

3 years ago | Likes 693 Dislikes 0

ahahah

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Birds would nest around our house with all the husky fur. Their nest were almost felted.

3 years ago | Likes 53 Dislikes 0

Better insulated than my attic. Damn door.

3 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

When brushing my chow mix, I'd always leave the clumps of undercoat outfit the critters.

3 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Should have known someone would beat me to the comment.

My dad always left our giant german shephards brushings out in the yard for this.

Birds are fighting over all that cozy nesting material.

The robin feathering its nest:

He has very little time to rest

while gathering his bits of fur and fluff

Now your lawn is going to have huskies popping up all over it.

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

The birds thank you.

As long as the dog isn’t on tick medication.

3 years ago | Likes 52 Dislikes 1

What happens then?!?

3 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

The birds will no longer have to worry about ticks.

3 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

Oooh is that a thing? I’m always leaving fur out for the birds

3 years ago | Likes 25 Dislikes 1

The shampoos you use on your dog can also be harmful. Most animal hair isn't a good idea for one reason or another including human hair.

3 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 1

There’ll soon be no dog left

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

But wait. There's more!

3 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 0

My allergies are acting up just watching this

3 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

What device is this? Looks super useful.

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

.

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

A high velocity dryer! Groomers use it but you can also buy small ones off of Amazon like I did! 80 bucks & works well to blow my dogs coat.

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Power washing a dang dog, well I'll be damned.

The neighbors are going to be picking fur out of their coffee for weeks.

3 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Doesn't matter with husky. You shed him today, just gunna be more tomorrow. Just accept the hair. It's part of the experience.

3 years ago | Likes 67 Dislikes 0

Belgian Sheepdog as well

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Yes, but the difference is a light dusting vs. unable to open doors due to the piles of hair.

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I shaved my husky and shepherd each spring. They would then wrestle thinking the other looked silly.

3 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 22

Not supposed to “shave” those breeds they have natural coating in their fur to regulate temps and if it’s removed it doesn’t come back

3 years ago | Likes 26 Dislikes 2

But a they’ll love a good blowout

3 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

My Husky hates it when you groom her in any manner. She must do it herself or else she will SCREAM bloody murder. Needs to be done though.

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I know a couple with a husky. Hair is everywhere.

3 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 1

Thats enough fur to knit sweaters for 10 kids :)

3 years ago | Likes 99 Dislikes 0

Those must be some small kids. I'd put it at 2.5 regular sized kids.

3 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 1

How many small boulders are the regular kids though?

3 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Just never get it wet. Wet husky fur smells terrible. Source: I have two and walking in the rain is the worst

3 years ago | Likes 19 Dislikes 0

is it the fur itself or is it all the other dust, dirt, and more that's on the fur?

3 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

the fur has no smell, if its cleaned. Dog fur is used to make mittens etc, as it is also waterrepellant.

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Yes

3 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 0

Well, the fur keeps coming and it doesn't stop coming...

3 years ago | Likes 816 Dislikes 1

among other things…

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I have cats. It never stops, let me reassure you. Never.

3 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Not a bit. I keep watching

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

My sinuses are already plugging up.

3 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

It ends up everywhere. Can sweep and have hair on the floor 5 min later. It ends up in your food. Friends had 4 of them...in Texas.

3 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

That’s their life. Shedding and then when they stop shedding they start shedding all over again.

3 years ago | Likes 20 Dislikes 1

I had one dog that was a husky mix and two that were retrievers. The mix would blow coat- 2 weeks of hell- and she was done. 1/

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

The retrievers had 2 shedding seasons: January-June and July-December. They sort of leaked fur. I appreciated the “do it and done” approach

3 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

.. and it doesn't stop coming...

3 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

It sticks to your PC fans and then they stop running.

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

And it don't stop coming..

3 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

3 years ago | Likes 40 Dislikes 0

Bloody hell Love you won't find any gold there ya flamin nutter

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

And the husky is there smiling and happy. "I'm good with this!"

3 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

The beekeeper's hat is brilliant.

3 years ago | Likes 29 Dislikes 0

Apparently necessary to prevent something called “groomer’s lung” ?

3 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

Similar to "miners lung"

3 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Is there any real reason why husky fur couldn’t be treated the same as wool? Aka spun into yarn etc?

3 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

it works for felting. doesn't work at all for making thread as individual fibers don't grasp each other well. Also: very itchy/scratchy. 1/2

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

That was the reason why the romans made Jesus wear a shirt of doghair as torture after he was scourged 2/2

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Different texture, mostly. You can make it into stuff, but not as well as wool.

3 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Seems reasonable. I wonder what the differences in fur look like under a microscope. Maybe that’d make it more obvious.

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

There used to be a person that spun cat hair into thread. I’m sure husky works too.

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Cat hair is just so short. And straight. That seems like it’d be harder than herding the cats to get a useful amount of it.

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I've seen (online) needle felting done with pet hair, too. Definitely doable, the question is more whether it's any good.

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I'd guess it's not worth the trouble, or you'd probably see it happening more.

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

The fibers are probably too short and fine to make anything worthwhile.
