Finished painting!
I just need to read up on how to base the figure now. What feedback have you got for me?
Finished painting!
Did the cockpit and some other finishes.
My first attempt at a jewel effect!
I'm not yet done with the cockpit. I thought the lasers looked terrible until I took off my opti-visors.
Dry brush.
Second coat of accent.
I'm kind of glad the was turned out as dark as it did. It accented the gold really well.
Base coat of the accents.
I decided to fade the color on the large laser.
Wash.
This darkened the mech up way more than I intended. I'll have to dry brush to bring it back out.
Base coat.
I didn't take a picture after priming because white is boring.
Just after assembly.

nothing runs like a deere like the color scheme

Very, very cool! I like the glassy effect you painted on the cockpit.

thin your paints a bit so they're less goopy, you'll get a smoother finish. Also highlight the edges with a lighter shade of the base [1/2]

colour will really make it pop. Excellent start though! [2/2]

I know it's old but that is my advice too, a wet palette makes thinning the paints easier

Use nail varnish for gloss effects. Really adds a nice shine. Drybrush a lighter green on the edges too to bring them up. Good start tho' !
papachicken137
I like this idea. Just using the nail varnish on the cockpit and lasers will really make them pop underneath a satin clear coat.
ArcherWirth
How do you use nail polish for gloss?
Clayman8
Glossy...transparent varnish? Seems obvious
